You could hear it from across the room. It was the fastest decision to return an item I've ever made. In addition, somebody at Sony decided that nobody would ever want to use a subwoofer with music, so the subwoofer only works in surround mode. If you want to listen to stereo music you get only the right and left front speakers, no sub. Ridiculous. Buy something else. I did.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i have had this receiver for over a month and still can't get it tuned right. the sound cuts out and i have to push the help button on my harmony remote so it goes back to the right setting. also the screen blacks out when i change the volume up or down which is very annoying. was going to take it back and get a sound bar but i needed something to power my speakers and sub so will keep trying to mess with the settings. if your not tech savvy then do not buy this unit!

Be a junction box for a wall mounted TV with external speakers built into the walls of the house. Problem was, the AV jacks didn't work. After upgrading the cables, with no luck, Best Buy let me exchange it, past their return policy timeframe, for an Onkyo. That works perfectly. I'd give Best Buy in Apple Valley 10 out of 5 stars for they're help and service!

The Sony tuner was on sale, a very good price for a low end tuner. Unfortunately, my old speakers blew out and at the same time blew out the tuner, which Best Buy accepted as partial payment for a higher priced replacement tuner.

Bad experience

Disappointed is a understatement! It was a open box item but it still supposed to include everything with all the accessories but that didn't happen. Someone hang wrote in the receipt that it was missing those items but it still got shipped! Taking it to the nearest Best Buy for replacement!

The receiver shut off while being used a few times, lacked any sort of useful user interface, made really loud and concerning clicks when turning on and off (I've owned other recievers in the past that have not), as well as looks and feels poorly made.
