Had a reaction in my ear that has taken a week to clear up. The performance of these was marginal at best. I get they are not made for music but the sound was not worth listing to. Best thing about them is the size. At 1200.00 you think Sony could figure out a way to turn on the mics for a phone call. Yes they don't tell you that you have to use the phone's mic. I have 2 dogs so holding the hone and walking the dogs is next to impossible. I returned the and might revisit this when the market matures a little. My advice is don't bother.

I am not certain that they fully recognize and respond to all sound circumstances, such as a noisy restaurant. Nonetheless I am very happy with their overall performance.

It does improve my being able to hear better. In restaurants I’m able to hear conversation with friends. Background noise is still there but I don’t think you can ever get away from that as it is sound and that is what is being amplified. Overall I made a good choice and am happy!! Having the 60 day return policy made me feel comfortable that I would have plenty of time to see if I liked them

Each country individually regulates the sale of medical devices. At this time, the Sony OTC hearing aids are only available for purchase in the USA and the app can only be downloaded in the USA. However, if the OTC hearing aids are set-up in the USA, you should be able to travel internationally and use it normally.

Needs additional functional settings to adjust to your specific hearing though I have not used the help desk yet. They potentialy could adjust more? better option than $10,000 dollar hearing aids!

Disappointing

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.While these do amplify sound, and helped me with listening to the television and people talking to me, they were often inadequate and I had to remove them from my ears to enable me to hear better! Overall, for me, they didn't do a good job. The tone control is limited to either enhancing the high frequencies (treble) or enhancing the low frequencies (bass). This single slider control in the app is inadequate if you wish to amplify a range of sounds. I mostly set it to the full bass level, as the sound was too tinny if that wasn't done or if the treble was enhanced. I think a broader, "graphic equalizer" type of control would be far superior. Next the noise reduction is very slow to respond and often doesn't work. I also noticed the app would at times reset tone and volume settings back to the factory default, or midpoint. That's quite inconvenient. Finally, the case contains a rechargeable battery and is good for a couple of hearing aid recharges, which is nice. The problem with the case is that the lid is flimsy, does not really snap shut and pops open frequently, letting the hearing aids fall out. I have resorted to using a rubber band around it. In conclusion, I am disappointed in these Sony hearing aids. I expected more from Sony.

Sometimes when someone wears a non-custom device, it may not fit the individual ear perfectly. We were able to dial them in nicely for her hearing and she said they "changed her life." That's what I want to hear from her! Great stuff Sony.

I had tried a heavily marketed brand from a different manufacturer and found them to be much less than I was expecting. When I first tried these the experience was exactly as I hoped it would be.
