Despite the size, the unit feels remarkably light and well-balanced in the hand. It doesn't cause the hand fatigue that some other handhelds do during long sessions. In terms of the controls - if you like the DualSense, you’ll love this. It feels exactly like a standard PS5 controller. The haptic feedback is just as immersive as the console version. The PS five portal is overall a really nice Runu version of the PSP. You can play the game anywhere as long as you have Wi-Fi or a hotspot connection. It’s good for kids comes with a lot of games as long as you have the PlayStation subscription and it also comes with remote plate if you have the PlayStation five console. I recommend this as a 10 out of 10 present for a teenage boy or young boy or a girl birthday gift, Christmas gift, etc.. the screen on it is overall bigger than i expected and very smooth. It holds a good battery. The screen is clear and touchscreen as well. The accessories available for this product are very easy to buy and search for.

This is perfect for in the go gaming. If you go to a friend's house and want to play fornite with them, it's easier to bring this instead of lugging your whole PS5. It's really convenient and I don't notice any lag with decent wifi. The battery life is really good and the screen quality is great too!

Works as intended. It’s a remote player but with the added cloud feature for gaming you don’t need a PS5 anymore. You can have the fastest bagillion Gigabit speeds but if it’s congested with other devices then you’ll experience latency. I recommend having another router you use as an access point dedicated only for the Remote Player. I have no issues and the experience is great with my 300mb internet speeds from Xfinity. I have ease of use 3 stars because everybody doesn’t need to be entry level IT Network Support agents to get the best experience with something you expect just turn on and play, but the experience is amazing if you take to tame to fortify your network for remote play.

I usually play games on my PC because im lazy to go use my console. Enter PS Portal. This is veet comfortable to hold, and the size of the screen makes it easy on the eyes. Battery life is solid (i usually play plugged in though). Now im able to play on the couch while my fiancee watches tv. With the ps5 hardwired, i noticed verrry little to no latency with the portal. Im still able to plah games like Clair Obscur and GT7 without issue. I took the portal out of state and was still able to play (had a solid wifi connection at the other place).

I was on the fence about this one since you can’t play without WiFi and can only play whatever disc that is in the PS5. I’m old school and I like having the physical disc as opposed to buying digital cause you cant sell a digital game like you can the disc version. I opened the box and was blown away at how beautiful and how big the screen is. The controls fit perfectly in your hands unlike the switch. The battery life is really good. The graphics are amazing and I didn’t really see any lag while playing as llong as you have a good WiFi connection. The $200 price is not that bad for what you’re getting. I definitely recommend buying a case for it. The portal controls take over your PS5. I know video games are going towards all digital in the future so my physical games are gonna be obsolete some day so now that I have the Portal it has changed my mind and Im going to start buying digital games because this thing is so awesome. With all that being said I definitely recommend getting one, you wont be disappointed!

This is great especially if you have children! For the best experience, the PS5 needs to be plugged directly in your router. It’s pretty much my PS5 in my hand, Battery life is good but not going to last more than 8 hrs with continuous gameplay. Screen is huge, great sound, some games require alot of fine reading which this systems lacks.

I really didnt think i was going to want one of these, as I have a deficated gaming room with a 77" tv and great sound system. Between the much smaller screen, the need for Wifi, and the lack of bluetooth (for audio), i didnt think the Portal would be worth it. Spec wise, it didnt seem like the screen was that much bigger than my iphone 15 plus. I was wrong. The screen is much larger than my phone and is good enough to enjoy Elden Ring and FFVII Rebirth on. While i do think the control feels a little cheaper than the actual dual sense, I really like how much longer it is. The additional length is far more ergonomic and stops your shoulders snd arms from having to internally rotate so much to grip it. It's a seemingly small thing that is actually pretty significant. I do get ocassionsl latency issues, but that seems to be related to my family eating up all my bandwidth. I took the portal on vacation with me and it worked fantastically from the hotel room. All things considered, im very happy with the Portal and have used it far more than expected.

The key to it is having a good networking environment at home, having a good router and a wired PlayStation is the optimal way for it to work well for your needs. It has a long battery life and great looking screen. It’s a great addition for people who want to have a simplified remote play experience at home or even depending on where you are with decent WiFi you can play outside of the home as well. The biggest cons for it are the lack of bluetooth which is due to some inherent latency issues, vs using their official devices. But your mileage may vary if you use a 3.5mm to Bluetooth adapter. You can also use wired headphones with it. Overall if you are someone who wants to play while your tv is in use, or just to play on the couch or elsewhere in the house vs being front of the tv or monitor its a great device. I recommend considering your use cases for the device. There are various options you do have that may be cheaper or cost more with some sacrifice to ergonomics or convenience. You can go for a backbone for 100 dollars paired to your phone but then you may have interruptions to your gaming session. You can go for a tablet with a dualsense controller but you may have limited seating positions while playing, and also have certain interruptions on the device. You can go for some of the other cloud devices that may do more but cost at least 50-100 dollars more or way higher if you go for a PC handheld and there are tradeoffs on battery life, and screen size etc. Overall this is a great device that does as advertised and is a good option when you consider your use case for it.

In all honesty, my search was for a device that would allow me to play my games when the TV is occupied or when I wish to avoid disturbing my family, and the Portal accomplishes this admirably. I even put it to the test on hotel Wi-Fi, and it performed exceptionally well. I was able to enjoy a significant portion of Spider-Man 2 using the Portal, and it didn't feel like I was compromising the gaming experience. Here are some areas where I believe there's room for improvement: - The ability to stream PlayStation Plus games. - Incorporating an OLED and HDR screen for enhanced visual quality. - Offering 1440p or 4K streaming options. On the downside, there are a couple of aspects I didn't like: - The absence of Bluetooth connectivity. - The inability to replace thumbsticks.

Unfortunately it’s not a standalone device so no native apps like Netflix or Youtube—you need a PS5 and it doesn’t support Bluetooth headphones just the PS Link headphoes or wired through the 3.5mm jack on the bottom—but for remote play, it delivers exactly what I hoped for. If you’re a PS5 owner who wants more flexibility in how and where you play, this is totally worth it!
