A really good devise for relaxing in bed or if you share a TV with someone. Requires a strong wifi connection especially if you're on a different network. Even though the joysticks are supposed to feel like a Dual Sense they fell off to me. Just a little too tall.

The PS Portal is a game changer. It's not only a great way to play your PS5 games while someone else is watching TV, it's also great to stream away from home (as long as you have a strong wifi signal). The design looked a bit odd to me at first, cutting a DualSense controller in half and putting a screen in between, but it offers great comfort for long handheld gaming sessions. The battery life is also very strong.

I recently purchased the PS Portal from Best Buy, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. From the moment I unboxed it, the design felt sleek, comfortable, and premium. The setup was quick and simple, and within minutes I was streaming my PlayStation games with smooth performance and beautiful visuals. The display is bright and crisp, making every detail in my games pop, and the controls feel just like a DualSense — responsive, comfortable, and immersive with the haptic feedback. I love the freedom it gives me to play my favorite games away from the TV, whether I’m relaxing on the couch, in bed, or even around the house. Best Buy made the whole process super easy — fast shipping, great packaging, and excellent service. Overall, I highly recommend the PS Portal to any PlayStation fan who wants the convenience of remote play without sacrificing quality.

Even with strong WiFi the gameplay was too spotty. It is a beautiful device and much lighter than I thought it would be, but it’s not a good fit for my needs because I have a dedicated TV for my PS5 and it’s less hassle to play on that TV or just not play at all. The aggravation of playing on the Portal is such that I’d rather just wait to play on my TV.

Wonderful addition to my electronic collection. Works better than I imagined an has all of my favorite games with no bug difference from the console. As well as it not needing to be connected to a PS5 the PlayStation Portal offers streaming services to get the games I like without having a actual PS5.

I saw a bunch of reviews talking about the wifi connectivity, but i have not had an issue. I run a google mesh system and as long as i am not actively walking around the house, i haven’t had the issues i was warned about. Battery life is great, about three hours of continuous play on Gran Turismo. The only issue that I’ve encountered is that you cant run two of these from one system (the PlayStation it is attached to has to be on the wifi network). But the kid can play xbox while im playing PlayStation. No worries.

This system is a great game changer when it comes to gaming on the move . Even when it comes to keeping my grandson entertained it’s a winner.

Amazing when it’s functioning as intended but it drops network connectivity nearly every time I use it, regardless of the strength of the WiFi signal or configuration. I have a google 6e tri band mesh router with three access points, along with 1 gb per second fiber service (1gb both upload and download) and it still repeatedly drops connection. Pretty sad because the screen, sound, and build quality are all top notch but that isn’t worth anything unless the wireless connection is stable. It’s worth noting that no other devices on my network ever drop connection or lag whatsoever. Also, my ps5 is hardwired directly to the base modem in the google config.

The handheld that is surprising easy to use, inexpensive yet pleasantly well made. Sony has made a really user friendly product.

Total upgrade to the PS Vita and if you own a Back Bone controller. The screen is bigger than I thought it was and makes me feel like I have the PS5 in my hand. The graphics are great and the sound quality is 100%. The only downside is having a stable wifi connection. I have a wireless router, and it works wonderfully, but there are moments where it will act up and cut me off in gameplay (but thanks to the game recognizing my absence, it will pause the game due to no connection to a controller). Overall, 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to upgrade their PlayStation experience.

Waited patiently for my kids too get old enough and Bam! It worked out too enjoy my childhood games with my kiddos while I play another console with another in the same room. Glad it works just as ADVERTISED! Great product!

This is a great accessory at great price. Perfect screen. Love the wifi principle of being able to play stream games on the go. Love taking it on trips

This was a great impulse buy. I had been debating on getting one for a while and I'm glad I finally did. Some games were just MADE for the Portal (Dave the Diver, Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, etc.) This is especially great for those of us who don't have central air conditioning and have to be in the coolest room. The screen is bright and the colors are great and it is super comfortable to hold for those longer gaming sessions. It has some good weight to it, doesn't feel cheaply made or anything. If you are on the fence about the portal, just get it! You won't regret it!

Let me start with saying this, I do really like this new handheld by Sony but I can't say it's just yet perfect. There are still some flaws to it but for what it is and the cost it's great. This system does not have any internal memory nor any port to allow you to add a memory card to it, which is its major flaw, but it's not one that hinders play. The PS Portal plays streaming games and that's it. Depending on your internet signal and your PS Plus subscription plan, you can have a lot of fun with this handheld. To get the most out of the system, you will need a good/steady wireless signal for the internet and the stronger the better. For the games, if you have the premium plan then you will get access to both your Cloud games as well as a bunch of the streaming games. Though the premium is the most expensive plan at $160 but if you are comparing the costs of the other handhelds that are double to triple the cost of the PS Portal for just the system, then the cost of the Portal plus the premium about equals out to the cost of the other handheld systems. I'm hoping that since the streaming is a new thing for the PS Portal that Sony will be adding more to it in the coming year but right now it's great for causal play. The system is not too large, though after getting used to the grips, which seem larger than the PS5 controller, I would like a larger monitor. The quality is really sharp and clear, the audio is great, not too loud but loud enough to hear and not be disturbing. I would like an internal memory option so I could have that backup memory just in case there's no internet or poor signal. So far I haven't had any real problems playing the games. There's been a few times when the signal was weak but I was also inside a small closed off room that's used as a audio recording booth, so, the signal is weak. I think if Sony added some internal memory or a slot for a card, give the monitor a larger screen size, and offered a way to watch movies on it without needing to be logged into you PS5, then the PS Portal would be the best handheld in my opinion. Right now, it's been a lot of fun for me, I've played more new games on the Portal than I have on my PS5.

Great screen, amazing image quality and little lag when connection is solid. Reccomend plugging PS5 directly into your router via ethernet for best connection.

This is super convenient. It’s nice on the days when I’m not feeling like going to the game room to get on my ps5. I can just grab this and chill on the couch and play all the games one my ps5.
