I got this so i can play while my wife watches tv. Iys good and its not... and it is. The good- perfect controls, easy to set up, great screen which is a decent size. The not so good- connection issues, a bit heavy, no blue tooth for headphones, battery life is mid. For what i need it's not bad and a good option but you really have to want that option if you get this.

Amazing Device for Remote Play Fans

I recently purchased the PlayStation Portal from Best Buy, and it has exceeded my expectations. This device is perfect for anyone who loves gaming on the go or sharing the main TV with family. The setup was simple, and connecting to my PS5 was seamless. The screen quality is fantastic—crisp and vibrant—and the DualSense-like controls feel just like a PS5 controller. It’s also super lightweight, making it comfortable for longer gaming sessions. One thing to note is that it’s meant for Remote Play, so it works best with a strong Wi-Fi connection. It’s not a standalone console, but as long as you understand that, it delivers exactly what it promises. I highly recommend the PlayStation Portal if you’re looking to expand your PS5 gaming experience. Great product and excellent service from Best Buy!

The PlayStation Portal is the most surprising device l've ever come away from loving after going in loaded with skepticism. lt's such a better experience than using your phone with a slap-on controller, and it works so much better than I was anticipating. I really love the freedom it gives me to play my PS5 from anywhere with decent WiFi coverage .،

Took a while to get one, but totally worth the wait and the price. Great to be able to play on the go or on the toilet. Screen is beautiful and battery life is pretty solid. Would buy another one.

    A Portable PS5

I bought this so that when my wife wanted to use the TV in our living room, I could still play my PS5 games. It works remarkably well, and I definitely recommend it if you especially have access to the PlayStation streaming library. One thing to note is that if you have physical games, you cannot access them through the Portal unless you are doing Remote Play. Anything streamed or digital, you can access as long as it’s in your library.

    Limited Functionality for Families

    Posted .

The PS Portal offers a polished gaming experience but has significant limitations that make it less appealing for households with multiple gamers. Strengths: The device delivers stunning visuals with sharp graphics and smooth gameplay. Connectivity over Wi-Fi is reliable, making it an excellent tool for playing your PS5 games remotely. The hardware feels premium, and it’s great for gaming on the go or away from the main console. Weaknesses: However, the inability to switch between user profiles is a major flaw. In a family setting where multiple people share a PS5, this limitation makes the device far less versatile. Each person would need their own Portal to play on their account, which isn’t practical or affordable for most families. If you’re a solo gamer, the PS Portal might be perfect for you. But for families, this device falls short of expectations. Hopefully, future updates can address this key limitation.

    My honest ps portal review

The days of the psp are dead. Alot of people have to understand that this device may not be for everyone. If you played “Wireless play” on your smart phone or tablet it essentially does the same thing and may not be needed for u. Its not a stand alone device and always needs a ps5 and wifi connection to play. The feel is just like a ps5 controller with a sony tablet built right in between a split Dualsense. Thats literally what the device is. I fine it useful since the connection with the portal compared to my smartphone is way better. Theres less lag and games play better. Its useful to play outside in my yard without being stuck inside to play or bother anyone else. It may not be the answer to nintendos switch but its perfect for a consumer like me

    PS Portal

The PlayStation Portal is actually really cool. I know it sucks you can only use it on wifi. And you have to have a ps5 to use it. But i love being able to just lay in bed or on the couch and play games like Call of Duty, or GTA 5. It runs pretty well if you do the right settings. If you run a Ethernet cable and put your actual ps5 settings to 1080p it runs very good. The price isnt bad, its built fairly well and its very comfortable in your hand compared to the switch.

    Great hand held gaming device

Got this as a gift from my wife and I absolute love it. Like in other reviews, I do at times experience some lag. This device in my opinion is more suited for playing games like God of War or other role playing games. Any kind of online shooter games I think you would experience more lag. But the screen is large and vibrant. It feels great in your hands. It honestly feels like a wider PS controller. If you can get your hands on one...I highly recommend!!!

Very clean ps5 design and feel of a paddle and the graphics are good, but that also makes it need more wifi connectivity and may disconnect if youre streaming a high wifi game. Its super convenient if you dont want a big screen in front of you or want to play in a different room. Battery life isnt crazy good either, you might only have a couple hours of play time before you have to charge it again but it's expected for a portable Playstation which is cool in itself anyways
