Had a trip to Orlando and took it and it was amazing it was functioning well and had no problems with the connection. I recommended leaving your ps5 on rest mode that way if you have the ps app you can turn it on anywhere your at and could use your ps portal.

When I first got it I was so excited but after awhile I realized I didn't use it as much as I wanted to but when I need it it's there and it's great for portability just wish my headphones didn't disconnect so often.

Great Device with room for improvement

At it's core. This device is FANTASTIC for streaming PS5 games in(or out) of your home provided you have a sufficient wireless network and/or knowledge to improve it. That said, your streaming performance is based on that ALONE. The device itself could use some NATIVE cloud streaming which would make it WAY more attractive for the $200 price point. Lack of Bluetooth is not a complete deal breaker for me personally but I can understand why others would have an issue with it. Controller is best in class(obviously the dual-sense features are top notch) and trump all others configs/controllers on that alone and streaming has some minor hiccups here and there with regards to dropped frames(which seemingly are due to HDR and/or unplugging the HDMI cable as per reddit) but I am sure that knowing sony the device will be improved upon over time via firmware updates. In short, temper expectations with this device and look for great PS5 game streaming and/or cloud streaming (in the future hopefully via firmware update) and forget any thoughts of doing anything on the device natively due to mid tier(Qualcomm) chipset.

Great for someone like me who has young children and rarely has time to sit in front of the TV and game. The only problem I have with it is shoddy connection. I have excellent wifi and equipment but i believe the connection issue has something to do with my mesh wifi setup. When it works on my wifi it runs great.

Given that (when I had it) you were only able to stream directly from your PS5 - it worked well. The screen looked good enough, and it is super comfortable to hold and play with. However, since then they have updated it to be able to do Cloud Gaming I'm pretty sure, which is actually a pretty big game-changer.

The PlayStation portal is a joy to own. It is a convenient device that allows me to enjoy my favorite PS5 titles in the palm of my hand. I love its sleek design, and its display is so gorgeous. It lets me wake my console from sleep mode, which is incredible, and I can't wait to play future titles on it! It

For those whining about this…I’m not sure it’s fair to judge this item based in what it DOESN’T do…I’m not sure that’s the point of a customer review. If i wanted a detailed level of analysis on what this product should or could be, I’d look up ign or cnet lol. With that said, this product does exactly what’s advertised. It’s a remote player for your ps5, best used around the house. It’s perfect for when my tv is being used or i want to get some gaming in while in bed or lounging elsewhere. The screen is beautiful and while yes, i have a Backbone, this works so seamlessly and automatically. The controller is solid and feels just loke a dualsense in your hand. Yes, you need a reliable internet connection that isn’t choppy lol. Trying to download or update something on your ps5 while using might also cause some lag. All in all, big ups to Sony and I recommend to all my fellow casual gamers that just don’t want to be stuck or restricted by their main tv’s. Hardcore gamers looking for a ps Vita replacement will be disappointed.

Only caveat is you must have very fast wifi. I have one of the top of the line Nighthawks. Works great, zero issues. The controllers are great. Well made device for what it is made for. I enjoy playing on it.

When Sony upgraded the device to Stream games along as a PS5 controller, i had to try it. So far works very well. Graphics are clear and sharp. If you plan on using as a streaming platform you will need to subscribe to PS Premium to do that. But for the price i found it worth it.

If you’ve already got a PS5 and have a family that likes to use the tv this is very helpful. Play your ps5 anywhere throughout your house as long as you have Wi-Fi. Also with the new cloud update you can use this bad boy on the go! (If you’re a PSplus member)

I was going back and forth for the longest time whether or not to buy the PS portable. “Is it worth it, will I use it”. But I must say my doubts have been firmly dismissed! This is a great handheld for anyone who owns a PS5/PS4 games, super easy to set up, and the battery life is pretty solid. The fact that I can pick it up and play when my wife is watching here reality TV shows, and we can sit in the same room is amazing!

Being part of the portal nation, i see all these 1 stars and i think those are trash reviews. I have never seen lag in any of my games that i've played and it's been super smooth. Setup to your ps5 is super easy also. Compared to a steamdeck, you're losing in many fields, but you're winning in price of the device, not including the ps5, and couple other things. The device is very light and feels great on your hands. Steamdeck has a good feel but has a heftier feel. Portal also has no huge fan running. It's super quiet. Only bad things is there's no bluetooth support and external controller support. As a dad that plays at odd times, sound is not that much of an issue and I can just play on the device. It is great! those 1 star reviewers are probably putting their ps5 on wifi or their network is not great, but I don't have the best internet, i get 100 mbps, with my kids device, wife's phone, and the apple tv running. It's not an issue. You have to plug in your ps5 to your router for best result and not plug into a wifi extender either. You have to set yourself up for the best results. There's a reason why it's sold out.

Amazing. It’s almost as if I have two PS5s. With the recent update that Sony added you now can stream PS5 games with PS Plus Premium membership. I’ve yet to have any lag with my 5G internet in my apartment. It’s well worth the 17.99 a month because they are adding more & more games to the line up which already contains like 100 or so games. You have PS3 games, PS2, just a crazy catalog. It’s nice to be able to lay in bed & play my games & still watch tv etc. The Switch finally has a bit of competition with this. I can’t imagine what the next handheld from Sony will be like. This is definitely a beta for something bigger to come, & with this update it is well worth your 199.99 + tax.

I have to reconnect to the internet each time I use it. Motion controls are not great for my son when he's in his bed. Still a wonderful device.
