Tried some Turtle Beach headphones which sounded good, but setup was not as easy and you have to run an optical cable to the usb dongle... the Sony on the other hand are plug and play, start up every time I need them without any issues, the TB brand always required a setting adjustment or some trouble shooting. Save yourself the headache and get these, not worth the hassle to save a few bucks with the others!

So I have had the PlayStation gold headset since the PS4 released and loved them but they were finally starting to wear out. I decided to upgrade and pick up the platinums (best buy price matched Amazon which saved me a lot of money). Overall they are a better build quality and have slightly better sound but you would not miss much getting the golds and you would save a lot of money.

these are the best on the market. i've use other head set and these are the most comfort and clear.

At first I wasn't going to get the platinum I was going to get the gold.but he didn't like how flimsy the structure felt on the golds, what I really like about these is that it has a metal frame and it feels very sturdy. I love the 3D surround and the 7.1. Virtual surround sound, it really does make a difference going from a cheap 30 dollar headset to this, would definitely recommend.

Sony finally got it right with these Platinum Wireless 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound Gaming Headset for PlayStation 4, they've upgrade to a metal rim at the top and stopped using that cheap plastic which no matter how careful you were broke eventually. The sound quality has always been good but now I would say that it delivers great sound quality especially while using the VSS system.

The quality of sound is breathtaking. Pairs well with my PSVR. Supports 3D audio as well.

When this first came out at $160 they were a little bit pricey but the price dropped to $120 has made this a fantastic value. I first purchased a competitors pair at $90 and was extremely dissatisfied. For $30 more of the difference in quality that I got with the Sony platinum headset was remarkable. Easily 300% better than the $90 pair. Simply the best sounding headset for a PlayStation Pro.

This headphones provide phenomenal sound quality and have a excellent feel.

Basically surround sound for your ear parts. Which is great when you're playing horror games like Bloodborne or Dark Souls 3. If you paired these phones with a good VR horror game, you'd probably feel like you're in a horror movie and make all the same dumb decisions that you yell at the characters to not make when you're watching a horror movie. A turn of the tables if you will.

It doesn’t put your voice back into the headset, so it’s like wearing sound canceling headphones, unlike the gold version. And the directional sound seems a little funny but prob just gotta get used to it. Good quality other than that. But the USB barely fits in my ps4 I have to unplug and plug in every time I use the thing, pretty annoying.
