This remote is possibly the worst remote Sony has ever come out with for PlayStation's. My PS3 remote was amazing back in the day, but this remote is just all around bad. If and when it connects to the PS5 it works, but sometimes it takes a long time to connect or doesn't connect at all. I have tried new batteries, and also disconnecting and reconnecting the remote to my PS5. But in my opinion, this is not a good remote. Wait for a good aftermarket remote to come out. even the buttons are really flat and don't light up making it hard to use in the dark.

We use the PS5 for all our streaming and tv, so this is a great remote for out on the coffee table with everyday use.

This remote is awful. Works great initially but once your batteries die and you switch them out for new ones. The remote will not connect to your ps5 and the only thing that will work is the tv controls of the remote. Avoid this! I have bought it twice and feel scammed

The remote isn’t good. From time to time it stops working, and we have to adjust battery. Now, even with adjusting battery, it works for 5 secs, and then no longer works! Hate to see such issues with branded products.

If you have a smart TV, your remote from your Sony or Samsung will most likely be able to control your PlayStation

Poorly made flimsy material Sony also has very horrible customer service. The remote stopped working 2 weeks into owning it no response from the remote when I press any button. It loses connection to the console it’s been like this for 2 months now Sony won’t answer any questions regarding it they won’t bother to fix the problem same with the dual sense remote they are refusing to acknowledge the problem. Big waste of money the media remote is I highly recommend not to buy it do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY it breaks down way to quick and there is nothing you can do about it.

2nd time that I buy this remote and it works when it feels like it… hard to believe this is a Sony product. :/

Really convenient to have when you want to keep your controllers charged so you can play games.

Love the remote but it malfunctions within a month. I hate that I have to keep replacing it. I have bought three of them and replacing them is getting old.

Good remote and syncs easily to TV or smart monitor. Does what i need it to and no compliants.

Was working fine until the day it stopped working.

Very bad quality. Stopped working only after 2 months. Wont pair to ps5. Changed batteries. Nothing. Poor quality and its not returnable anymore. Is this how they get us to keep spending money? Shame. Cant even get a refund. Do better best buy!

Worked for a few weeks and now only barely controls the ps5, the rest of my media center...nothing. terrible item, avoid it

Have to disconnect batteries every time in order to connect to console.

Another step back in a PS media remote. No fast forward or reverse by chapter any longer. TV button would not sync either so it adds zero value for me. A total disappointment. Bottom battery cover is not flush with unit either which gives a little edge at the billing. I would prefer a flush alignment. Battery cover is not easy to get off either. Another generation and another step back in the PS media remote.

It has an IR blaster, but Sony fails to allow universal remote abilities. Unfortunately, I can’t control my sound bar since it is connected with an optical cable. That was the only reason I had for buying it. I suppose I’m still spoiled by other products such as the Apple TV that does it out of the box.

I find the functionality of this remote lacking at best. If the PS5 didn't have two different models and was just only able to stream, then this remote would be rated higher. The fact that my PS5 plays UHD discs shows that the minimalist approach to this remote the wrong direction for Sony to go in. If I could find a third-party remote to handle the simple functions that this one does not, I would buy it and throw this one in the trash.

Great concept, but its been gathering dust since i bought it. between smart tv's and firesticks, I find myself using my PS5 for just games and use other devices for multimedia and steaming. therefore not really using this remote as much as i thought i would. Plus i hate the dedicated streaming buttons. i wish they were blank and could be programmed to the services you want.

Probably will never use it much, but its nice to have all the PS5 accessories

The remote uses a certain type of AA battery and won't resync when troubleshooting. Out of all the accessories that Sony has for its PlayStation, this one loses points for things that shouldn't even be an issue.
