Sony PS5 Media Remote
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote is a handy addition to the PS5. A must have for anyone who uses their PS5 for something other than gaming.

Cheap feeling
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I forget how much i paid for this. But im sure it was under $40. I wish they made a slightly more expensive one because this feels super cheap and fragile. Other than that it works just fine.

Nice but not mandatory to have

Should have bought it earlier
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kept putting off buying this remote because I thought I did not need it. Turns out, its one of those things you don’t think are useful until you own it. Its perfect for family members who aren’t familiar with the Playstation layout and simply wish to use streaming apps(it even has voice command). And you can keep your controllers charging while you’re watching TV. I would take off half a star only because the battery compartment can be a little finicky.

It’s ok
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kind of disappointed with the media remote . I understand that the sony PlayStation is ment for gaming but Sony have been making tvs and stereos for a long time now and they couldn’t atleast move the PS button right under the middle button. I have to literally use two hands to quickly navigate between home and apps. Sounds like a silly complaint but i only except the best functionality and consumer friendly products from Sony .

It never works!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like this remote, but after a two-week honeymoon period, it just stopped working! I've replaced the batteries, reset the connection, looked online for all kinds of solutions, but it just keeps disconnecting on its own and never works. Waste of money, and I waited too long to return it.

Does what it has to, but needs more features
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does what its supposed to, but the buttons are hard to discern in the dark, and if you are looking for something that will allow you to skip chapters on a 4k UHD or Blu-Ray, this won't do it. It's more like a streaming remote for a Roku.

Badly designed, and lacking basic functionality
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a terribly designed remote control. Don't let the positive reviews fool you. While it appears svelte and minimalist, it lacks some basic functions that makes one wonder what is the point of a remote control that lacks: - A genuine chapter fast-forward or reverse button. You can scan forward or backward, but sometimes when a blu-ray crashes and you have to restart it, and the PS5 conveniently forgets where you were, booting you back to the main menu, being able to just tap forward to where you were, instead of having to find the disc's chapter select, would be really nice. You can't do this though. - There's no actual stop button. In an effort to reduce the buttons on what's supposed to be a functional remote, there's a pause/play button, but no proper 'stop' button. There's the PS 'home' button, but the disc is still technically 'active' unless you close the application completely. - No eject button. Why? - There's not a flat resting edge on this remote at all, which makes it prone to sliding all over the place. What the practical reason for designing this thing without a flat bottom to rest on your nightstand, side table, arm rest, whatever, is beyond me. - The PS 'home' button should have been recessed and flush with the surface of the controller. Raised as it is, it is far too easy to accidentally press it while rummaging for other remotes in my remote drawer, causing me to accidentally turn on my PS5 way more often than I'd like to. This sometimes forces me to turn on my soundbar, my projector, and to wait for everything to go through their start-up routines before I can go through the motions of shutting my PlayStation 5 back down, which wastes on average 2-3 minutes, which is a real hassle if I'm just trying to leave the house and go somewhere. In the effort to make a remote control that mirrors the annoying, sweeping architectural lines of the PS5 itself, this remote was designed to lack the most basic of functions. It's almost better to just use a DualSense controller instead of this garbage. I feel like this remote control is my entertainment enemy.

So So remote. PS 3 one was way better.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not the best remote. The buttons are not raised enough and there is no option to program the "assigned" buttons to different streaming services.

Too early
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks great feels great but I can’t use it. I got it a lot earlier than I thought. It was supposed to come out with the PS5 release. Just sitting collecting dust until the release party. I would recommend this product if you like having a control just for media like I do instead of using the actual controller but your adding another remote to the collection. That’s my preference what’s yours? You don’t really need it but I can’t wait to use it. It’s made out of a plastic and comes with two double AA batteries. Open the lid for batteries carefully as there is a release button to open. I almost broke it forcing it open. Take your time and enjoy.

Doesn’t Work Properly
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this remote as a replacement for my standard TV remote since I tend to use only the PS5 OS. The remote worked great for as long as the return period of about 2 weeks. Afterwords, many of the buttons stopped working. I constantly have to take the batteries out and put them in again, or reconnect with the PS5 altogether. Waste of money… wish I could be my money back.
