It’s not a must have as the controller alone is sufficient but it’s certainly nice to have and matches well with the console. Also helps since it now controls my tv and sound bar as well

Quick streaming access and navigation

Instead of using your controller to navigate the Media Remote is much easier to use and navigate to your favorite show!
