It makes it easy to control the media settings of PS5 rather than using the handheld controller specially if you are not gaming. It is like using the tv remote.

You can use it to turn on/off your TV and control volume as well as controlling the PS5. The shortcuts to streaming apps is also handy.

Yes I have a TV remote that "can" work for it but it doesn't match my whole PlayStation accessory's so yeah I like to match my stuff. The remote works. It's literally just a TV remote technically but I like it. Plus you can use your voice to search things which my regular tv remote can't. So I mean yeah that's a one up.
