Best Console Media Remote Thus Far

Surprisingly satisfying peripheral. The IR functions that allow it to learn how to communicate with your television are simple to set up and while they only cover the basic functions of TV volume and power, that's enough to function as the primary remote if your console is your primary entertainment device like mine is. In comparison to the PS4 remote, this one connects with the console much faster, so you're spending more time engaging with the desired content than waiting for the remote to at first connect. Sleek, simple design and the specific streaming platform buttons make it even easier to simply jump to the content you wish to view. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the rounded bottom of the controller. It doesn't lay flat or still. It has a tendency to rock and rotate on the table when you set it down. I'm a little nitpicky about that kind of stuff. I like my products to lay flat and remain still when I set them down rather than run the risk of them falling onto the ground and becoming damaged. This is minor and doesn't take away from the overall product experience. Overall, this is one of my favorite things about the PS5. Highly recommend to any interested parties.

The setup process was really easy. The remote itself comes with batteries and it doesn’t feel cheap. During the setup process it automatically detects your tv or monitor and syncs with your device. A MUST BUY.

Good remote, battery life is not great

The remote is useful but the battery life sucks. I think it's the Bluetooth connection that drains it. It would be a lot better if the batteries were built-in and rechargeable like the controllers. Mine last maybe a few months, compared to a TV remote that's garbage. I use my PS5 for nearly everything on my TV, so they get a lot of use.

Drain this battery (they’re included) and leave your controller for gaming. Bought at standard price no issue connecting to Samsung Frame TV (2022 model) does what a remote should do. Intuitive controllers no complaints.

    No More Dropped Controllers

This is the best for my wife and kids. No more dropping a $60+ controller while watching movies. The additional Disney and Netflix buttons are terrific. Still accidentally change still occurs with how easy it is to bump a button though. At least if you drop it the replacement won’t be another controller. Works fast and is easy to use.

Greatest remote that PlayStation has made to date! They really went for a minimalist approach which I greatly approve of. Add the beautiful sleek look and and the quick access buttons to apps that I love and you have a masterpiece. This also works with my Sony TV right out of the box.

Easy to install - like incredibly easy to install. The darn thing even recognized my television brand and model and automatically configured volume control. Fits in my hand nicely. Has all the critical functions. Not as simple to use as an Apple TV remote - but close. Far better than the PS4 media remote (crazy full of useless buttons). It isn't the remote's fault, but displaying time remaining on a disc is a pain - or shall we say a hidden easter egg. The little silly three line / hamburger button shows that. And I really would have liked a slow motion button. I can do without the dedicated services buttons. But then again, those companies are subsidizing the remote, so the price is far lower than without those goofy things.

Fits nice in your hand & it doesn’t need to be pointed @ your console to navigate. My only complaint is they don’t have the triangle, circle, X & square button, which come in handy when doing some navigating & shortcuts.

Pretty Good Once You Get the Batteries In

This remote makes it way easier to navigate PS5 functions when watching movies. The controls are not the most intuitive, but they are way better than trying to use the PS5 controller. I would have given it 5 stars, but it took me 20 minutes to figure out how to put in the batteries. It should be a simple process, but I felt like I was going to break the remote and then had a tough time putting the back on and getting it to stay put. Maybe it’s just me, but I think others will run into the same problem. I actually had to watch a YouTube video, which is kind of ridiculous since I’ve installed batteries on probably 100 remotes and never had a problem until this one.

What a great item, we use the playstation for everything, streaming, playing, dvds and controlers die and have to be switched out so quickly. Great to have it all in one place and works on the tv as well!

This remote is awesome. You can turn on the TV and PS5 with this remote, and you can control volume. The dedicated buttons to go to Netflix and Disney+, etc. work perfectly and instant. Definitely pick this up if you use your PS5 as a streaming device on top of a game console.

Good remote for streaming or watching movies on the PS5. Much easier to use than the controller. Design is smaller and more compact than the PS4 media remote. Only strange thing is the shape of the back which is not flat and can sometimes spin on the table. Overall I would recommend for PS5 owners.
