All I can say is "wow"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to love playing video games. Over the last few years I have gotten more and more away from them. I don't play as much and as often. I though since I'm now in my 40's I had outgrown this video games phase, and I had. Until PSVR. PSVR has completely redefined everything I though of when it comes to video games. I feel for the first time like that time I first opened up my Atari console way back as a kid. This however is incredible. The way it immerses you into the game. Wow. I tried the car racing game and got dizzy for a bit. This effect however did not last as my mind started to assimilate. What a feeling to feel like you're inside of the cockpit. If some parts seem a bit blurry, don't worry, you're not even gonna care. Deep see diving in the shark tank, oh boy, you're in for a treat if you're planning on getting this, and I highly recommend that you do. Thanks Best Buy. While everyone else is sold out, you still had this as of February 4. Overpriced everywhere else but you still had at regular price. Bought the camera, move controllers, PSVR, games, and just headed to Best Buy to pick it up. It really takes you longer to get it out the box than to connect. It's very confortable in your head and even with my glasses I had no problem.

Great experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this yesterday and have really been surprised at how realistic things are. Setup: It takes a few minutes to set everything up. It comes with a small unit that has two hdmi ports, because you have to connect another hdmi (one is included in the box) to the tv and one from your ps4 to the small unit. The unit also has two more slots that the headset itself has to connect into, and the unit has to be plugged into the wall outlet. There will be a couple updates that don't take long at all, maybe 2 minutes at most. It does come with a demo disc inside the box, that I believe is the same one you can download from the playstation store. Headset: The headset is very light and comfortable. It has a couple different ways it can adjust to ensure it fits almost anyone. Once I adjusted it to my head and started testing it out, I almost forget that it was even there. If I had to be picky and have a downfall, I would say that the lens does get sweat on it easily and needs to be cleaned every time you take it off your face, but they do include a wipe cloth in the box. Games: I purchased two games (Playstation VR world and the Batman VR). I only tested out the playstation VR world game,, but it has like at least 6 (forgot the exact number) different games inside of it. The first one I tested was the shark encounter and it was very realistic, I actually felt like I was in a cage underwater. Most of the games are short and simple, but all of them have challenges that will provide more gameplay for those who are interested in completing everything. Some games don't require the move controllers, and instead you can use the Dualshock controller (they give you the option before you start the game to choose which way you want to play, although its a better experience with the move controllers). You can always check the front of the game box to see if you need the move controllers or not. Overall: All in all, I would say it was a great experience to really test out the VR world. I can only imagine the things Sony has in store for the future. I had two friends over and they enjoyed and was amazed at the technology of the VR. One was so amazed that they wanted to go get a ps4 and the VR just to play it at their house.

GREAT EXPERIENCE!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First I'm an older gamer (50) and have seen pretty much everything so I am never overly critical (Other than glitches and lack of QA from devs) of most things. So far it's delivered really more than I expected. Then again not really sure exactly what all I expected. Graphically, no you will not be playing in super stunning visuals. I never expected as much though.. however it's not bad at all. After playing the last couple days I can say that not only was it a good purchase for being able to experience gaming in a new way, it was a great purchase. God willing I'll be around for long enough to see the next few advances in the tech lol Setup was a breeze and I've had zero issues with calibration .. none. If the screen, during play does get off center a bit all you have to do is hold the options button down and it re-centers. Done. The camera and move controllers I kept over the years all worked fine so that's what saved me some $ I'm Using the Gold headset which fits fine over the VR. I also wear glasses and the VR fits over them with no problems. I'll go through what I've played so far: Tumble is what it looks like. Many different levels etc... of stacking different types of blocks to either get a certain height or a certain amount on the table. The last one I did was one called " Limbo" which is where you had to stack the blocks but in a way where they all fit under the back and forth bar. I believe 10 blocks got you gold.. which I finally got. Surprisingly there was one where you placed mirrors to get certain light etc.. (Screen shot above) ..so there seems to be a few different types of things to do. The precision of the Move controller was great and had no issues. VR Worlds: Luge -- The first possible nausea inducing game. First off (and I'm assuming this is the complaint with Drive club) the distance down the track is blurry. Not enough to not know where track goes, but blurry none the less. The sense of speed is there and yes on the very first track I could feel some sweat starting but no real nausea. I stuck with it and my plan is to only play games like that 20 minutes or so at a time and see if I can get brain used to it. I did make it through the first 4 tracks (Failed on 1 ) without vomiting. Actually never got to feeling that bad. So, so far so good but I will take it slow. Steering with the head was fine and better than expected. Had no issues with missing obstacles etc.. and was laughing at myself for actually ducking my head to keep from getting decapitated.. Lol VR Worlds: Ocean Dive was an awesome experience. I ended up standing during this and kept reaching out thinking I could grab the rails or touch the fish. Won't go into it a lot (Only did the one dive) but it was pretty sweet indeed. I've also played some of the demos like Job Simulator which was fun. I'll get into the full version later as well as Keep Talking and Rush of Blood. I know 399.99 or the 499.99 is a bit of money but: 1: if you don't go in thinking you'll be playing a high def greatest ever visuals and 2: Are wanting to enjoy a different way of getting a gaming experience.... for me it's a great buy. Looking forward to getting wife on it the next couple days. Hopefully the games keep coming and get better and better. Bottom line-- I'm VERY happy with it!

Listen to me and don't waste your money like I did
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okey PSVR it's amazing but don't buy the bundle, the motion controllers are useless and I payed 500DL for the bundle which includes motion controllers and a game. I haven't used the motion controllers in a year. THE must buy games are - Resident evil 7 ,and FARPOINT with AIM CONTROLLER<this is why you don't need to buy the motion controllers they suck and it's a waste of money. The aim controller it's amazing accurate and BRAVO TEAM game comes out in december 2017 totally compatible. those 2 games are the only amazing VR games folks, I played all the vr games and wasted so much money on buying them that it came up to the conclusion that there is only 2 good games R7 and FARPOINT. so long story short buy psvr headset only not the bundle. 300 DL right now is totally worth. CONS- The cinematic mode it won't work, the screen keeps shifting to the left and you won't be able to use cinematic mode, it seems like SONY does't care and they never fix that problem today's date is 10/08/2017 and still doesnt work.. so I hate that because you expect for a 300 DL headset to work properly. PROS- everything is great , graphics and experience 10/10 rating.

Amazing!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best VR unit on market today. From price point, fit, resolution, games, etc. I got it last night at 9:01 PST and got it setup. Immediately was impresssed by tracking, immersion, games, etc. Please go buy one. You will not be disappointed. We need this tech to sell good since it will mean even more game designers to make awesome games for it.

Worth It
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read review after review before deciding to purchase and the reviews don't lie. If you are interested in VR, this device is worth the price. There are several good games that came out with the launch and plenty more to come. Rush of Blood has been a fun and scary experience with a lot of great jump scares. VR World is a great way to introduce new people to VR. There are some issues with the motion controllers appearing on screen like they're shaking but I think over time with updates and possibly introducing new controllers (possibly) could make the experience better. Yes some people get the motion sickness feeling but have only experienced that with some games and this is prevalent with VR in general. If you are on the fence regarding PS VR, just go ahead and hop on over and buy the thing, you will not be disappointed.

Great Entry Level VR Intro
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Weight and Fit: I will have to agree with others when they say the headset is real light feeling and you forget it is there. So much so when I went to scratch my nose, I forgot it was on. Screen Door Effect or Spaces Between Pixels: What I saw I very fine, not bad SDE. I could see some between the pixels in bright backgrounds, but in normal to dark, did not see any. When gaming, did not notice any at all and I am assuming it was because I was not looking for any. Resolution: This is another tough one. If looking at text, it was noticeable. Games were the same way as SDE. Some did a really great job and you did not notice the immediate area (underline immediate) were not high resolutions and others looked more like an mid PS3 game. Again, once playing, there was nothing immersion breaking about the resolution. Tracking the Headset: It did a great job. There were a couple games if I looked up to high or to the right or left to far, it would tell me I was out of the play area. One particular game was letting me look behind me. It may have been my set up as I do not have it in my dedicated room, but in the living room so people can try it while visiting. It may have been developer choice to only let us look so far in one direction too. Move Tracking: Amazing. That is all I can say. My hands shake in real life and the camera / controllers were picking that up. Using guns in London Heist and Rush of Blood was something I found enjoyable. Not like real shooting as there was not the weight of the gun or the kickback, but it seemed natural to point and pull the trigger as if real shooting. This makes me even more excited for Farpoint and the Aim controller. 360° Shows: There were a couple in one of the apps and it was good. Not high res and a bit blurry kind of like putting a 720P youtube video on full screen. But it was a different experience to be able to look around and see all of the show. In Game: Was amazing to be in game and look to your left and right and see the game. Was a little freaky to be into the game and have my dog lick my hand or push his nose under my hand to be petted. People say it can be social, but if the volume is up, as with using any other headphones, the outside world is soon forgotten. Summary: A lot of positives to it, moreso than negatives. Need some great games to suceed at this point, in my opinion. It is pricey unless you keep in mind this is not a gaming console, but a next step in gaming. then you realize there will be cost to keep going. If you got the spare cash and no doubts, I say go for it. If you have any doubts, then wait on it. Maybe there will be rentals of the headset from a video store and you can try it out for a few hours.

Fantastic VR
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't let anyone fool you, VR is the future! Some people say that PS VR doesn't look as good as the PC options, but for the price, this is the easiest , most affordable, and most comfortable headset available. Even though the unit comes with a bunch of cables, Sony made it super easy and labeled all cables with numbers and the device and the Processing unit are super easy to install. It took longer removing the cables from the box than it did installing the unit to the PS4. The headset takes a little getting used to and to get the placement "just right", but once you figure out how to place it on your head, it becomes second nature. I believe VR is the future of games and can't wait to see where we go from here.

PSVR is AMAZING!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start this off by saying "WOW". I purchased this half expecting it to be as mediocre as 3d technology was, but I was wrong. This far exceeded my expectations. My entire family loves this thing, from my 7yr old daughter to my 70yr old mother. We all experienced almost zero eye fatigue, which is where i thought this thing might fail, but it has not. The unit is a little heavy, but fits everyones head very well so its not very noticeable. The instructions were easy to follow and setup took about 5 minutes. The one minor con I have is that this unit comes with a mess of wires. The headphones arent built into the head unit which requires you to plug the cheap set that comes with the PSVR into the main cable, adding to an already bulky wire that feeds the head unit. But ill get over it because this thing is amazeballs!! I can definitely see VR becoming a huge part of our future after seeing how this PSVR takes advantage of things I never thought it would. If you are on the edge about whether or not to buy this because youre not sure the technology is ready yet, STOP. The technology is here and its amazing. Much further along than I thought it would be and it makes gaming so much more immersive and entertaining. Get this. You will love it!

Tried the Demo, Love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are three things that differentiates VR from regular screen display. 1. Sense of scale which argument the sense of being there. Imagine when you watch the lord of the ring where Gandolf and the gang were in the great hall of the under ground dwarf city. The great hall was enormous. Yet the movie convey this sense of scale by making the fellowship of the ring super small. In VR however, the hall would be as enormous as its real size because you yourself is the reference point. 2. Human eye adjustment to distance. Human eyes take a bit time to focus when you switch between far and near object. PSVR does a great job to make your eyes do that when you look far and close object. A normal screen won't do that, because all objects are actually rendered on the screen. 3. Intimacy of graphics. When a face hugger jumps on your face, it really does feel like that. Do you feel the same way when you are distanced by a screen?

Very impressive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are a lot of haters out there slamming this hardware. They are out of line. To be honest I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. It's surprisingly accurate and very immersive for a first generation VR system. It's a great investment at its price point. It's a very comfortable headset. I am a big person with a large head that wears glasses for reading and it fits me comfortably. It has the best list of launch titles I've seen for any Sony gaming device. My kids can't get enough of it. Well worth it.

Im all in
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know a lot of people felt burned by the 3D TV's, mostly due to the manufacturer not educating it's consumer on setup. BUT This is not a 3D TV on the wall. My hands on demo of the Playstation VR was breath taking. I played around with the device for at least 1hr at Best Buy. The guy helping me setup for the first time answered a slew of questions seeing it was his own to play around with. Not a paid Sony rep, well not at least with cash, just rewarded with cool pre-release tryouts of cool toys, but an actual gamer The screen is slightly blurry, but not a nail in the coffin. They will need better ventilation, the set is super light. just beautiful, immersive to the point where you feel you can reach out and touch. The controls either using the controller, which shows all buttons and everything right in front of you, or the Move controllers were actually more responsive than what I had anticipated... not a Wii experience at all. Games are few, but this is just the BEGINNING. It's always bleak from the jump. I am mostly looking forward to Lead Human, Resident Evil, and Rigs. You must try it before you criticize it, it will change the industry, no more flat panel on the wall, or tv stand... You will be IN the world!

Get the bundle instead
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is exactly the same as the bundle, except it is $100 cheaper, and doesn't include the camera or Move controllers. If you don't have any of them, it is cheaper and easier to get the bundle. The camera and controllers are required. Best Buy has a history of putting a hold for the funds of whatever you order against the card you use, so if you aren't going to have sufficient funds in your account every day from now through launch day, don't waste your time pre-ordering. Your order will get cancelled at some point.

Great VR experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, this was a little pricey, but on the affordable end for vr systems. The launch titles are in short supply, but what there is is really great. I bought Battlezone, which is a Tron-like environment, and Eve Valkarie, which I find mildly disappointing. However, the VR mission in Star Wars Battlefront makes it all worthwhile. Rogue One X-Wing mission is so awesome, it brought a tiny tear to my eye. By far the best VR, and Star Wars game on any platform. I can only hope and dream that they make a whole Star Wars X-Wing game for Sony VR.

Great Entry into the VR Worlds
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took both pills. seriously. the red pill and the blue pill. you would pay $100 (or more for an experience like this at Disney for only a few minutes) I have tried "VR" setups in the past, not Oculus or Vive so I can't compare this to those; however, this is an absolutely AMAZING experience. And I can use it whenever I want. I have tried many of the demos in the PS store and most of them were pretty good, but I especially liked VR worlds so I bought the full version. it's even better than the demo version. Some of the 360 videos and movies are so immersive that you actually forget your orientation. was I facing the TV or the rear of the room. Its not disorienting. I am a consistent lucid dreamer and the experience is so similar its scary. the illusion of depth is stunning. my brain knows that I'm in my 7" high bonus room, but the headset fools my mind quite thoroughly into believing that I am in MUCH larger spaces. The launch library of games isn't huge, but I have spent many hours just exploring the many demo titles available so I feel like there is compensation there so much that you don't need to feel like you have to walk out of the store with a game or two under your arm. The construction of the unit is very sturdy. Once you figure out how to fit it properly and get it on and off you really have very little to worry about. the cable is heavy and the controls on the cable tend to drag and pull your head to the side so I wrap it around my arm like a shawl. they could've added a clip or something. I am truly very pleased with my purchase. I would love to see my niece and nephews use it during the holidays, but even with its sturdy construction I still will not risk it. usage warnings state 12 and older for good reason. I think it would be quickly broken. all in all I am very happy with my purchase. I did not have the PS camera or the move controllers so I had to go out and purchase them separately:( The camera is necessary, but the move controllers are not necessary for every game although it does enhance your enjoyment of many of them.
