Exceeded my expectations!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PSVR totally surprised me. We're have been having so much fun with this thing. I recommend some of the lesser talked about launch titles: Super Stardust VR & Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. Also, the platformer in the Playroom VR shows a lot of promise what the future will hold for this great device.

Maybe in 5 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned mine. It is a beta/early adopter product and will likely remain so for years because of the economics of making a headset and making games for a limited install base of headsets. None of the games I tried were great. The tech is cool. It really does give this feeling like you are in a virtual room. But the games really only succeed because the tech is cool. They are barebones experiences. Nothing seemed that polished. Some stuff is kind of boring. Sit at a table and watch stiff virtual actors talk. Trust me this early stuff will be forgotten very quickly. Still the first time you try generates alot of wow reactions. IT is pretty cool. But...kind of been there, done that after that. The headset itself is well done, but the viewing experience is like the viewing experience with 3d movies in that the picture isn't as clear as your tv and it isn't very relaxing on your eyes. That's a bit of an understatement because VR can easily make you feel ill too. We all felt kind of blah using PSVR. KInd of like when you get too dizzy. The user experience isn't very good either. It's not bad. But it's just kind of annoying to make sure you are in the right spot and to navigate menus. The most annoying thing was switching between game controller and Move controller because you can't see where they are with the headset on. The cables are extra clutter. The bundle introduces 2 Move controllers which give you 2 more cables for charging. That gave us 4 game controllers with only 1 USB port on the PS4 to charge them since the PSVR uses the other USB port. Not a show stopper but there's lots of little things that annoyingly add up. The reality was after day one, PSVR just sat there unused for days while the kids went back to their new PS4 and Wii U games and then I returned it. I think we just didn't like that ill feeling it gave us. None of wanted to power through it after day 1. We were satisfied that we got to see what it was all about. To me it still is the tech you want your neighbor to own. And will remain so for years.

Do it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought it was going to be a gimmick and look ugly in the headset. Nope, it's greatness. It reminds me of the way I felt about getting the original PlayStation 1. I think it's only going to get better and there's sure to be PS VR 2 to catch up and surpass the quality available today. ONLY THE BEGINNING! (Please support this peripheral Sony :P)

The future is now.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the biggest thing in the gaming community since the original Wii hit the shelves. The PlayStation VR is an immersive experience that is only going to get better with age. Quit reading reviews.. go buy it now!

PSVR deactivates HDR on PS4 PRO!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.yes its true if you have the psvr box hooked up to a ps4 pro that will deactivate the HDR on any non vr games you play on the ps4 pro so unlike the old ps4 on the pro you have to manually switch all the hdmi cables when you go from vr to non vr! so that you can enjoy full pro quality on non vr games. yes its that rediculous

Descent deal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item is better than the bundle for 100 more. You can easily find the camera and two move controllers for less than the difference between this and the bundle. The VR worlds disk will retail for 99 cents, if you want it, however that to will be useless. The best bet is to WAIT and do not preorder until you have tested this yourself in a store demo which are due out soon.

Has Potential but a flawed Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lots of wires to connect the VR system. I had very difficult time getting it to focus to my graduated bifocal glasses. I had to angle the headset in a strange way to view the screen through the bifocal area of my glasses. Not very comfortable. The experience with the demo games was very good. The experience with watching video was unacceptable as the colors were bland, the image was blury and filled with artifacts. The other unacceptable feature is that even though it will pass through 4k video to the TV, it will not pass through HDR. HDR is the latest enhancement to 4K TVs. It expands the color gambit and the contrast from white to black. Sony has implemented and highly touted this feature on its new TVs, the Ps4, and the PS4 pro. Some games are already being patched on the PS4 to output HDR. So anyone contemplating a new 4k TV with HDR should avoid this product at all costs. Otherwise you risk damaging your TV and PS4 with necessary cable switching in order to enjoy HDR.

Good hardware, average software.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First impression was good. I got blasted by London heist and Job simulator, but after trying great games like Drive club VR and Here they lie, i could only wish the ps4 was powerful enough to bring good image quality. Those two games are a blast to play, but they look really, really bad. Like old youtube 480p videos. My biggest complain is a sandy look effect on dark images, wich is worst than the screen door effect. Every time the mage goes dark, you can see the screen pixels right in front of you and that takes you out of the immersion. I hope ps4 pro fixes the 480p poor image quality, because i got motion sick after 45 min of playing, and after watching my friends and family get sick after 1 minute of playing driveclub, i can say i have a good motion sick resistance. My recommendation: Best buy has a great return policy, so give it a try, play it every day like i did and decide if you keep it or its just not for you.

It's just kind of meh
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one on another website and returned it. I borrowed a friends before opening and realized it was nothing special. I played Batman Arkham VR and the sampler disc with the gun range and the ocean decent where you get attacked by sharks and the glorified pong. Nothing special. Batman was super disappointing but at least priced appropriately for what you got. My biggest issue was the fogging of lenses. It was bad. Very poor. I tried a few things but I was constantly having to unfog the lenses. There really is no excuse for a $400 unit to not have fog resistant lenses. The way it is designed to block light from getting in creates a lot of heat, and you are moving a bit so sweat builds up. VR just might not be for me. I mean, it was cool, but not $400 cool. I am glad I never opened the box because it is not something I envisioned myself playing much. I ended up upgrading to a PS4 Pro instead.

has to get alot better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.pros - cool for vr games cons- wire on the left side is a pain. no option to switch sides on the helmet. - screen door effect was on my unit. it was there most of the time. - non vr games where blurry and no clear at all. Maybe i got a bad unit. But the vr games where as clear as day. And it was as if i had left my bedroom and became part of the game. -movies where also no clear. But the vr was amazing. If sony is listing and reading this and you are to. Please fix issues and make the vr helmet worth 399+ In short i returned the unit and will wait for the next gen to come out.
