I originally picked these up to replace my lost Galaxy Buds — just something to hold me over. But wow, these Sony WF-1000XM5s absolutely stole the show. The noise canceling is unreal, the sound quality is rich and punchy (with bass that actually feels good), and they’re so comfortable I forget I’m wearing them half the time. Battery life holds strong, and switching between devices is super smooth. Now? These are my go-to, day in and day out. The Galaxy Buds never stood a chance.

The biggest draw to these headphones is definitely the great sound quality and the effectiveness of the different listening modes. My last pair of ear pods were the Apple AirPod Pros 2nd gen. In my opinion, these do a better job with noise cancellation and I find the ambient/listening mode way more useful as it balances the sound quality playing through them and crisp audio of noise in your immediate vicinity. Now for the drawbacks, or at least, things to consider… They make you download the Sony “sound connect” app, which I always find annoying, but does have some cool features. They have an adaptive sound feature where, based on your location and movement state (like sitting vs driving), they will automatically switch between noise cancellation and ambient sound modes. That didn’t appeal to me, so I mostly found myself using the app to manually switch between sound modes. The pods are meant to be able to change sound mode, volume, and pause/skip through tapping them, but I’ve found that they don’t always register the tapping. They often can’t tell it apart from laying down on them, and therefore don’t want to switch sound modes, making it easier to switch mode via the app. That’s a strength of apple airpods, where they have tapping, but also it’s easier to switch modes with just the drop down menu on your phone. These do a good job of automatically connecting to your device though. Another apple feature that these lack is the “find my device”, which I realize I needed more than I thought as I am prone to losing things. The charging case tends to not have as long of a battery life, though the pods themselves can hold a charge for a while.

After much research, I bought these for my wife for Christmas 2024 and she loves them. They stay in her ears unlike several other brands that would not, even after changing the ear tips sizes. She loves the sound and the battery life. My ear buds just started to malfunction so I'm going to get a pair of these.

I loved them so much I bought a second pair of a guy on FB marketplace. I'm an asphalt guy and work regularly more than 12 hours daily in the summer. With LDAC, sound sent to priority if you don't use any ambient noise or noise cancelling these regularly last more than 12 hours. I put them in my ears at 630am and don't take them out until 630 or later. If there is a rare time they need to be charged on a late day a quick charge for like 10 min gets me like 5 more hours. Case lasts 2 days but no longer. Also the with Spotify Lossless they are the greatest headphones I have ever listened to. Work great as ear plugs in and around equipment. App can get weird but main settings are in android Bluetooth settings anyways.

Really good bass and the ANC is top tier. If you are an android user, then it's a super easy yes. If you are an iPhone user like me then it depends on 2 factors. 1- Is Apple's ecosystem important to you? If the answer is yes, then go with the Air pods Pro 3. If the answer is no, then get the Sony's. 2- Is sound/bass more important to you? This is where the Sony's are better. Especially in the bass. Another plus is the sound customization you can use with these. It does have preloaded as well, but I actually fined tuned mine more and it's just perfect for me. I use this on my iPhone 17Pro Max and Apple 4K TV with zero issues.

These headphones are absolutely amazing!! The noise canceling and quality of sound are superb!! I had the previous generation before these and they can't compare. I love how they made them more comfortable as they don't hurt after wearing them like the previous ones. Battery life is also extremely good. A must buy!!

For starters very great update Sony from their previous version, the overall case is slimmer and the look and finish on the earbuds are well executed, the app easy to navigate the only negative I would give the app is the amount of time it take to do their updates I believe they can do better on time when those updates come out, I purchased these Sony earbuds so I can do my everyday calls and for my airline travels they are very comfortable can wear easily on a 6hr flight, the noise cancellation is great I like it in the previous model and as well on these new ones compared to Apples or Bose, my sound quality on calls is crisp and clear both ways no complaints from the people I call. Lots of customizable features on the app, and can’t go wrong with the extra charges you get out of the case, I would recommend to anyone’s looking for a great set of earbuds, and also can’t forget the last Con price price it be nicer if they were in the 250 or lower price but then again you get what you pay for.

This a smoking’ pair of buds. Right out of the box they are easy to connect and sound excellent. I got them as an extra pair of buds so I don’t use my Technics all day and they are ready when I need them for sleeping. The Sonys sound amazing. Great battery life and comfortable.

The sound quality is excellent but only thing is that the automatic switching of devices can be overwhelming. Headphone app to modify the settings of the earphone is terrible, sometimes the headphone app selects your PC/laptop as default even if we try switching to mobile it would automatically force switch to laptop and it is irritating. The app is terrible so much so that any fine morning you go out and connect your earphones it will just simply won't work. My best advice is don't install the app and use it manually or switch between devices manually because trust me you are going to get mental peace. The sound is of excellent quality and bass, treble and voices are superb.

I listen to music almost exclusively with quality planar magnetic headphones powered by a quality amp. These buds are the closest I've ever heard to that quality. No, they are not on par with high-end cans on a high-end amp, but they are the absolute best i've ever heard that are BT. Hard stop. These buds make any others look terrible. The noise canceling is the best I've ever used out of any product ever. that's the real HARD STOP. they are like having fire-arms protection in your ears when in a loud location (planes for me). They are not cheap, but the also provide quality that is not cheap. If you can afford them, get them. NEGATIVE PART- I don't like the "memory foam" . It just doesn't fit my specific ear well. I do use as 3rd party silicone insert. It reduces the quality of the sound damp, but fitting better mattered to me. Sound Quality - S Tier (for buds) - Build Quality - S Tier. Fit - B tier (for my head holes). But it's changeable. They have options in the box, i just favor silicone. --Overall - If you want music to sound as good as possible from an earbud - these are the best that exist.

Amazing sound and top-tier noise cancellation! These earbuds deliver exceptional audio quality with deep bass and clear highs. The noise cancellation is easily among the best I’ve experienced — perfect for commuting or working in noisy environments. They’re comfortable for long wear and the battery life is solid. A bit pricey, but worth it for premium performance.

Really nice, as would be expected from Sony. They are noticeable in the ear but not in a way that is uncomfortable. Sound quality is top notch. I havent used them for recording video yet or taking calls.

Best in ear headphones! Fits perfectly in my ear. Sounds like over the ear headphones. Noise canceling is excellent.

Very amazing sound, very immersive with low bass, the highs are crisp, and the mids do not disappoint. I had the xm4s for years and multiple pairs. I originally thought they couldn’t upgrade much sound wise but man, I was wrong

So far so good. Time will tell in terms of long term usage but the sound quality is very strong. Needs a little tweaking out of the box but it is pretty minimal tweaking needed. The ANC is great, and so is the comfort and fit. My 2 biggest critiques are that they made the earbuds and the case so tiny that they can be a pain to handle and take out of the case. They are slippery and small so you also end up hitting the touch controls all the time. And the ear tips that come with the buds are not great in terms of having a wide range of fits. I had to buy an aftermarket set to get a good fit.

These sound great generally and are comfy but I’ve had issues with one or the other buds not charging fully. Thankfully it seems a software update has fixed it. The app is awful and the tips get so dirty easily even with clean ears. I think for the price, I’d buy something else. I’ve had better overall experience with AirPods Pro than these ones.

Great sound and coming from the well loved XM4 which had the left ear battery drain issues, this was a great alternative. Now I'm not a fan of the glossy finish compared to the Matte of the xm4 but it is what it is. sound quality is better but for some reason drops on the left ear on ,y Z fold 7 so could be a bad model or something. but beyond that the noise cancellation is top tier for earbuds. If you take Mass transit all you will hear is your music. Great product.

Purchased these off of a recommendation, and I'm glad i did. Audio quality is great, theyre light, i had to switch the size on the rubber tips so they fit better, and they do stick out kinda far so probably not for laying on or in. But connectivity is simple, audio was customizable, and overall definitel like a 9/10.

Love the noise isolation sony is my favorite gym headphones easy to use fast charging each full charging last me almost 15 gym training days i will definitely recommend anyone to get sony headphones my number one that i ever used im usually have play with the addressing training.And this headphones doesn't move or drop off my ears exlent perfect and the sound is amazing definitely better than outher brands i hade multiple brands spend lots of money but finally i find my gym partner sony headphones this is my 3rd pair that i bought for my son and my wife .

The buds are a little bulky in my ear, and I sometimes feel like they're slipping out, no matter which tip size I use. Sound quality is top-notch, and the battery life is on par with what is advertised.
