    Don’t buy for jogging!!!

    If you jog or run do not buy these headphones! With and without noise canceling on, I can hear a pop every step that I take. The sound quality is great if sitting or walking slowly. I’ll be returning these ASAP.

      When the Noise Canceling or Ambient Sound Control is On, the vibration of walking, running, or shaking your neck may be transmitted from your body and cause noise. This is normal, and not a malfunction. To avoid this, turn Off the Noise Canceling or Ambient Sound Control.

    Sony xm5 earbuds

    I’ve had the xm5’s for a month now, they are really nice and have worked perfectly so far. I would recommend them if you want to spend a little more to get a quality product

    Battery life has dropped to about five hours.

    I bought these specifically for the long 8 hour battery life. One year later, I get about 5 hours. I only use them on the weekends. It's frustrating and disappointing to spend a lot of money on earbuds, only to have them degrade rapidly.

      If you set the following functions, the available operating time of the battery becomes short.

      • Equalizer
      • DSEE Extreme
      • Speak-to-Chat
      • Function to launch the voice assistant by your voice
      • Sound quality mode during Bluetooth playback: Priority on sound quality
      • Service Link
      • Head Gesture

      If you run the above settings at the same time, the available operating time of the battery becomes even shorter.

    So disappointed.

    I returned these because they didn't perform anywhere near the claims or what was judged in the reviews. There was no difference at all between ANC on and ANC off. Perhaps I am spoiled by the wired Bose QC earbuds ANC performance. The batteries drained in much less than the eight ours claimed even with ANC and wind canceling off. Couldn't even make it to four hours. The right bud drained much faster than the left even though I wore them inside where there was no wind. I couldn't get three charges out of the case. Sound quality varied greatly from song to song, but overall I didn't find them particularly good sounding. I have seen the same complaints online scattered among reviews that gave good marks. Perhaps there was a bad batch that some of us got, but they were very disappointing. Trying the new Bose QC Ultras no and so far so good.

    Battery life dies and right earbud stopped working

    Bought the X4 version in Feb 2023. Lasted me a solid one year before battery life was killed. The right earbud stopped working around this time Feb 2024. The left earbud would only last me a good 10 minutes before I start to get low battery alerts

    Good Audio, Poor battery

    Very good sound quality, but better life rapidly diminishes within a few months of purchase. Each bud will last between 10 to 40 minutes per full charge.

    Falls off easily but aound quality is ok.

    Love the sound but whats the point of the sound wuality if the earbuds fall every 5 minutes, even during inactivity. Smile and it falls right off.

    Easy to lose, costly to replace

    I regret buying the WF-1000XM5 earbuds. For such a steep price tag, I had the worst experience. The earbuds kept falling out of my ears, even after trying different sizes. The smallest size fit me best, but even then I had to readjust it every couple minutes. You definitely can't wear these while working out. I unfortunately lost one earbud. Firstly, I'm disappointed such expensive earbuds don't have a tracking feature. Secondly, the replacement process is awful. It costs around $210 total (labor + cost of new earbud + shipping) to replace a missing bud. That's outrageous for a product that costs $300. TLDR: These earbuds are not a great fit, easy to lose and costly to replace. Go with something cheaper.

    Bad Sony Product

    Constant connectivity drops, one ear bud fails to connect for some reason and requires a restart of the tablet or phone to fix get the ear bud to connect. The battery in the right ear now runs out of power in less than an hour. The last Sony product I will be buying.

      We regret to hear that you are not satisfied with the headphones. For optimum performance, make sure to install the latest software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app).

      If the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not worn properly in your ears, tap operations or Speak-to-Chat speech detection may not work correctly, or you may not obtain the correct sound qualities, noise canceling effects, or call performance. If any of this is the case, try the following.

      -Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The most suitable size of the earbud tips for left and right ears may be different.
      -The “Sony | Headphones Connect” app will help you to determine which earbud tips suit you best to achieve the optimal noise canceling effect, sound quality, etc.
      -Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears. Wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible. You may also find this link helpful:
