Upgrade over the XM4 Earbuds

The hard-case and buds definitely feels made of higher-quality material and sleeker finish. These are the two biggest improvements I see from the XM4 model. The actual buds seem lighter, TBD how they handle wear and tear. If you don't already own the XM4 model, this is definitely worth a buy. If you already own the XM4 model, the other features are marginal upgrades at best so it might not be worth paying the full price. I am a fan and give this a very high rating!

Good sound odd settings

They fit well, have good sound but there are a few odd settings and non customizable button kayouts that would help me.enjoy this product better. Would love Jabra back but for now these will do.

Amazing sound but weird fit

Great earbuds

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The sound quality is pristine, the switch between ambient sound and noise canceling is very noticeable and when you go into noise canceling its feel as if you are in a void, these lasted me on meduim volume with ambient sound on for about 6 and a half hours while i was at work, they are very comfortable doesnt feel heavy after a while it barely feels as if anything is in your ear and they fit snug and dont even hint at falling out, would recommend these to anyone, though i will say these are on the pricer side but well worth the money

Great, but could be better

However, the xm5 is more difficult to handle because of the glossy black material that makes up most of the body of these earbuds. Make sure your hands are dry after you work out with these, because they will slip between your fingers if there is even a little moisture. The sound quality is good for my use case. I like the clear and powerful bass and the highs are clear and crisp without being overpowering. Combining that with the great noise cancelation makes these headphones a treat to use in the gym. The noise cancelation is next level. It is incredible how well these are able to block out sounds, and the transparency mode is excellent. The app is very easy to use, and there is plenty of useful adjustments that can be made within the app. I like the new custom EQ that lets you determine the equalizer setting based on how you like music to sound. Great little extra feature. Overall, I like where Sony went with these earbuds. If there is a criticism I have, it is in the choice of material. The smooth material is difficult to work with. It takes some wiggling to get them to sit snuggly in the ear without feeling awkward. There is a very prominent foreign body sensation when they aren't sitting correctly and the sound is obviously distorted as a result. But get the fit right, and you will be pleased with the result.

Great Headphones

Throughout my time using the headphones were and are a good times. I believe that words alone cannot describe the experience that I had with these headphones. These are the things that I like: Sound Quality Case quality and these are the thing I would Improve: Headphones tips Sound Quality: The sound quality is one of the best sounds that I ever heard. The bass that is used is perfect and not excessive. What do I mean about that? I mean when I listening to a song, the bass is there and arguments the experience and makes the song better. In other words it is not excessive and tries to take over a song. The voices are very good and the instruments appear well and the headphones does a an extremely good job using every single aspect of the song. Case Quality: The case is very good. Yes it is not apple. But I do believe, they designed the case very well. The case is very light, even lighter than the Airpod's case. Another part about the case is that it is small and take less space in a pocket. So I able to put my phone and my headphone inside the same pocket. Which is a good thing because a lot of headphones, especially the wired ones take a lot of space. I believe that the case is very strong part about the headphones. But one area I believe that could be improve with the headphones are the tips: One parts of the tips that I could improve is how it fits. I believe that the material that it is used is foam. Foam as a material can serve and I believe it is used in the headphone to improve the sound. But the main disadvantage that I see it is not as flexible or adaptive as the Airpods. While it is not a great and life-changing issue, I do believe this area could be improve. But on the other hand I believe that foam as a material is very good for sound and combined with the hardware and software quality of the headphone, I believe this was a reward versus risk situation with the people who designed the headphones. Conclusion: Overall, these headphones are very good and probably one of the best in the market. The sound quality and design of the headphones are one of the best. Even without the equalizer used in the Sony headphone app is still one of the best sounding headphone that I ever heard. I believe that these headphone are worth their money.

I can barely hear anything in the background. The fact that you can change the sound for differnt types of music/podcast makes all the difference. I HAD THE XM4 and the new XM5 sleek and much more comfortable fit makes these the best on the market

Amazing pair but I miss my air pod pros

Best noise Canceling even on a plane... you cant go wrong with these but i will say the gesture control/touch controls arent great. Managable but very difficult to adjust volume from the buds. Not sure if it like that with most earbuds out there or what. I was an apple user for a long time then switched to the fold 7. Maybe im spoiled by apples air pod pros. I will say that its kimda shocking how long apple airpods have been out but yet its still very difficult to find something very close.... galaxy buds dont count in my eyes because the quality of sound and features are no where close. Overall before I turn the review into something else. Very solid pair of earbuds. Probably number 1 option when it comes to ANDRIOD users... wish the touch controls where abit better... especially with volume adjustment. Also if you get this on sale... easily one of the best buys(see what I did there) you can get

The Absolute Best

These buds are phenomenal, the ANC is so good I have people telling me it sounds like I mute the call the moment I stop talking (they cannot hear background noise). When my wife called me from the supermarket (Publix) her voice sounded super-clear I was astonished by the quality. It had that GOD sound to it, as if her voice was in my head speaking to me (very weird but clear). Several different tips included, the app is pretty solid and configurable and they nice and small. The only complaint I have is the glossy finish makes for an interesting time removing the buds from its case. Charging is quick as well. Worth every penny so don't hesitate just buy it!

Great Sound, Less ideal for apple users
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The biggest draw to these headphones is definitely the great sound quality and the effectiveness of the different listening modes. My last pair of ear pods were the Apple AirPod Pros 2nd gen. In my opinion, these do a better job with noise cancellation and I find the ambient/listening mode way more useful as it balances the sound quality playing through them and crisp audio of noise in your immediate vicinity. Now for the drawbacks, or at least, things to consider… They make you download the Sony “sound connect” app, which I always find annoying, but does have some cool features. They have an adaptive sound feature where, based on your location and movement state (like sitting vs driving), they will automatically switch between noise cancellation and ambient sound modes. That didn’t appeal to me, so I mostly found myself using the app to manually switch between sound modes. The pods are meant to be able to change sound mode, volume, and pause/skip through tapping them, but I’ve found that they don’t always register the tapping. They often can’t tell it apart from laying down on them, and therefore don’t want to switch sound modes, making it easier to switch mode via the app. That’s a strength of apple airpods, where they have tapping, but also it’s easier to switch modes with just the drop down menu on your phone. These do a good job of automatically connecting to your device though. Another apple feature that these lack is the “find my device”, which I realize I needed more than I thought as I am prone to losing things. The charging case tends to not have as long of a battery life, though the pods themselves can hold a charge for a while.

Amazing sound, audio cuts out a lot

The big problem with these are that they cut out badly, if I move around with them in my ears they start cutting ou sometimes losing audio for a few seconds at a time. This issue happens when they're connected to my apple watch, apple tv, MacBook and iphone. I go for a walk or really exercise with these because they cut out so badly. I understand that I can't adjust the ldac with iphone but this is ruining my experience with these. I also have it set to prioritize Bluetooth connection over sound quality on the app.

Had to get new ear buds and liked my Sony X4...

I will keep the new X5...just think the 4's were a little better.
