Overpriced.

The noise cancelling function is not as good as on the "big" headphones. And, I had to buy generic foam tips to replace original ones, because the foam was not expanding well. Sound is good, but not better than air pods pro. Overall, I think this item is too expensive for what it is.

Engineers play project that is released early

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Feels like Sony told its engineers to go nuts, then those engineers added everything to this headset but they never really tested it outside in real life. I've had xms since xm2s. They all have been over the ear with the exception of xm4s which I returned because I did not like the size. I have my over the ear xm4s and I will not be separating from them any time soon. I bought these xm5s because they are the smallest in ear phone made by a reputable company which can also fit inside my helmet. These are absolute trash. Left piece keeps cutting out for a split second then connects back immediately. Not sure whats going on with it. It is a random occurrence. Sometimes the volume peaks for a split second then goes back to previous volume level. This is almost immediate so when it goes normal to high to normal volume levels, the high part feels like someone is blowing to your ears as you are listening. If you have the ambient sound mode on, when you speak, you still hear the chime sound like it turns on ambient sound mode for chat? Why? I already have it on, why you making me listen to your on and off chime? If you have the wrong ear pieces on, the sound degrades immensely... and I really mean immensely. I hope these can seal up your ear canals fully because otherwise you might as well listen from a megaphone. They are worth half their price if even then. So yes, the engineers at Sony created an in ear headset that is packed with features while having one of the smallest form factors available in the general market. The problem it feels like is that none of them ever put them on... All these glitches should've been fixed before release. You are paying a premium price but you are not getting a premium product.
