They are so dang good, the sound quality has been everything I thought it would be, but what I care even more about is how comfortable they are, and they really are, I work 8 hours day in an office and want to enjoy my music and work training in peace and that is what they offer, they are easy to set up and the dual phone connection mode works well enough, very few issues with it, nothing that would stop me from telling others about it, sony has come in with a winner and I will get an update when they come out as well.

Loved the earphones. Sound is great. These earphones have amazing battery noise canceling is good. And i like how when you start talking it pauses the video your watching. plus ambient mode can be set to when you are running or sitting or walking. That way you can set how much ambient sound comes in when you run or sit or walk. Also it can be set to a location. So when you go to the gym is sets how much noise comes in. You can also have it where it connects to two different devices from different brands. Its a must if you have different ecosystems.

The WF-1000XM5s is a significant upgrade from WF-1000XM4s. I've previously owned the WF-1000XM4s and the XM5s are generally a bit better than XM4s where the XM5s have WAY BETTER battery life, slightly better noise cancellation, more comfortable, and slightly better sound quality (XM4s have better bass sound). I would spend the extra money to purchase the XM5s over the XM4s, because the XM4s battery life is SO BAD.

My experience with the Sony XM5 earbuds has been mixed thus far, on the one hand the clarity is amazing and the distinction in voice and identifiability of each respective instrument is a dream for someone like myself who values clarity and voice over other aspects of music. Unfortunately this does not make up for what to me reminds me of fake bass and a saddening lack of volume combined with poor noise cancellation even after switching up and trying different combinations of tips to try and get the best noise cancellation. Overall a good product but lacking in the aspects that would make it a great product especially for the price point, I am looking forward to trying the next iteration to see if the improvements change my mind but for now I am just glad to see Sony making a comeback with better quality products.

These are great. Ive had them for almost a year and still love them. I travel a lot. They're small so they don't take up any space in the backpack. I do recommend getting aftermarket rubber pieces. I found some nice soft ones on Amazon. These buds have really good nose canceling. They're not over-the-ear good, but close. The sound is clean and crisp. Music sounds great. I use these for phone calls all the time and have had zero issues. Battery lasts a decent while, and the case recharges quickly. If you like earbuds, you will not be disappointed with these.

The sound quality on these is really solid, and I love how well they stay in my ears—even during longer use, they don’t slip out like some others. However, the noise cancelling just doesn’t compare to my Bose QC Earbuds, which are cheaper at $199.99 versus these at $329.99. For the price, I expected better ANC performance, but overall they’re still comfortable and sound great.

I always wanted to buy the XM4s but they were too big. Then these came out and I thought they were perfect. The ANC is AMAZING! I love the sound quality and I like that the app has a 5 band EQ with a clean bass slider. Unfortunately I can't use all the features. I was really looking forward to using the head tracking and spacial audio features but because I own a S23 Ultra by Samsung they are disabled. Looks like these will be going back. For the price I'd like to be able to use all the features.

I came to buy these Sony headphones after extremely disappointing experiences with Bose (see my review of the Quiet Comfort II headphones for details), and by comparison with the Bose products, these are AMAZING. Almost everything about them is better: audio quality, the app, the charging case, and connectivity are all superior. The only better feature on the Quiet Comfort line is, in fact, the quiet: the noise cancelling on the XM5 line is just not very effective and lets through a lot of ambient noise even when noise reduction is active. Pros: * Lightweight * Great audio quality * Recharge quickly * Connectivity is more reliable than Bose * App readily displays remaining battery life and otherwise stays out of your way * Case design is great: case stands up and has an appropriately-sized USB-C receptacle, unlike the QCII; also the earbuds lock into place magnetically, ensuring that they're charging Cons: * Touch sensitivity means that adjusting the earbuds will result in issuing unintentional commands * Foam ear inserts attract earwax and also feel less secure than buds which use rubber inserts * Buds don't fit snugly enough to stay put when running I'm mostly really happy with these earbuds, but for $300, I would expect zero issues and perhaps better noise cancellation, but given that I paid only slightly less for the Bose earbuds and got total crap, perhaps my expectations are out of line with the state of the art.

The fit and stability are a bit of an improvement over the previous model. The hard-case and buds definitely feels made of higher-quality material and sleeker finish. These are the two biggest improvements I see from the XM4 model. The actual buds seem lighter, TBD how they handle wear and tear. If you don't already own the XM4 model, this is definitely worth a buy. If you already own the XM4 model, the other features are marginal upgrades at best so it might not be worth paying the full price. I am a fan and give this a very high rating!

Bought these for my lady friend. Set up was easy enough. Sound, connection reliability, fit and style all excellent. Ear buds hold tight on her frequent walks. Ease of use comes with slight learning curve. Advanced features may suit more tech savy users. I use the Samsung Buds pro 2 and the Sonys are a little bit better with the noise canceling. These are paired with a Motorola phone and perform appropriately. Consumer reports was a reliable reference for this model.

I bought thses after my pixel buds batteries stopped holding a charge (in their defense I had them 5 years), but I wanted a better fit and sound. The foam on the Sony buds provides a much more comfortable and secure fit with my ear piercings. The sound is also phenomenal!

I had a bad reaction to my Galaxy buds and had to go outside my ecosystem for some new earphones. I adore this pair. The sound quality is great. The battery life is spectacular. The app makes them fully customizable, and they were simple to connect to both Apple and Android devices.

The sound quality is pristine, the switch between ambient sound and noise canceling is very noticeable and when you go into noise canceling its feel as if you are in a void, these lasted me on meduim volume with ambient sound on for about 6 and a half hours while i was at work, they are very comfortable doesnt feel heavy after a while it barely feels as if anything is in your ear and they fit snug and dont even hint at falling out, would recommend these to anyone, though i will say these are on the pricer side but well worth the money

These earphones are a great upgrade over the xm4 if the size of those earbuds bothered you. However, the xm5 is more difficult to handle because of the glossy black material that makes up most of the body of these earbuds. Make sure your hands are dry after you work out with these, because they will slip between your fingers if there is even a little moisture. The sound quality is good for my use case. I like the clear and powerful bass and the highs are clear and crisp without being overpowering. Combining that with the great noise cancelation makes these headphones a treat to use in the gym. The noise cancelation is next level. It is incredible how well these are able to block out sounds, and the transparency mode is excellent. The app is very easy to use, and there is plenty of useful adjustments that can be made within the app. I like the new custom EQ that lets you determine the equalizer setting based on how you like music to sound. Great little extra feature. Overall, I like where Sony went with these earbuds. If there is a criticism I have, it is in the choice of material. The smooth material is difficult to work with. It takes some wiggling to get them to sit snuggly in the ear without feeling awkward. There is a very prominent foreign body sensation when they aren't sitting correctly and the sound is obviously distorted as a result. But get the fit right, and you will be pleased with the result.

These are incredible sounding headsets (when I first bought them they were $400 and even with the above being true, they were too expensive, so I'm happy to see that they are less expensive now), but using them ok a non-Sony handset may incur sound popping when targeting maximum bit depth and bitrates which are not directly customizable when using the supported Sony Headphones app. These are also incredibly easy to lose track of if you aren't paying attention. Somehow, I lost my left earbud in my sleep and was not able to find it. I'll probably buy another pair soon because I do miss them. But in the meantime, I did pick up another pair of headsets to see if the grass could be greener elsewhere. Also, the Sony app does require many permissions to run on Android, just 1 on Android 13. The required permission is device access so it can recognize the headsets.

Great sound and features for the price. Overall, these earbuds have been great. I use these in all sorts of conditions. Work, Gym, Music, Phone calls, etc. The device does a great job at managing connections and easily connects to more than one device without issue. For example, I can have them paired to my laptop for a teams/zoom call as well as having them connected to my phone for incoming calls or music. The experience is seamless enough that I actually forget its connected to multiple devices. Call quality on these are fantastic. Both my mic and incoming conversations are very clear and they do a great job of cutting out external noise in my environment for others on the call while also reducing the impact I hear around me with noise cancelling. The noise cancelling overall is also great. While they are not the quietest I have experienced, they are top tier and have no issue with the noise cancelling they provide. If you have the setting at maximum, you will have trouble understanding someone talking right next to you. These do have a great feature for that though. If enabled you can allow these to cut through the noise cancelling when you begin a conversation with someone, immediately letting the surrounding noise or conversation back into your ears. Sound quality for music is also great. The equalizer is more than enough for earbuds and the delivered quality sound that was better than I expected for an earbud. That being said... these are not audiophile, wired, over the ear quality sound. But for streaming music on your phone (at a likely lower bitrate than you realize) they are fantastic. When connected to a proper audio source with a high bitrate, they still perform well but wouldn't recommend these as your main set of headphones if that's what you are looking for, The only downside to these are the ear canal inserts. While they come with multiple sizes, I just find they don't fit as snug as I would like across the range. They are not memory foam so you don't get much play in terms of expansion in your ear. They also get dirty very easily and are hard to clean. Thankfully, the small mesh grate is part of the ear insert and not in the unit itself, but it gets jammed up easily even if you clean your ears regularly. This does impact the sound and you will need to maintain these regularly. The pads themselves are also a bit brittle. The exterior layer is easily scratched off or damaged so its best to use a cleaning solution of some kind. Overall, great tech.

The Sony WF-1000XM5 headphones are great. Throughout my time using the headphones were and are a good times. I believe that words alone cannot describe the experience that I had with these headphones. These are the things that I like: Sound Quality Case quality and these are the thing I would Improve: Headphones tips Sound Quality: The sound quality is one of the best sounds that I ever heard. The bass that is used is perfect and not excessive. What do I mean about that? I mean when I listening to a song, the bass is there and arguments the experience and makes the song better. In other words it is not excessive and tries to take over a song. The voices are very good and the instruments appear well and the headphones does a an extremely good job using every single aspect of the song. Case Quality: The case is very good. Yes it is not apple. But I do believe, they designed the case very well. The case is very light, even lighter than the Airpod's case. Another part about the case is that it is small and take less space in a pocket. So I able to put my phone and my headphone inside the same pocket. Which is a good thing because a lot of headphones, especially the wired ones take a lot of space. I believe that the case is very strong part about the headphones. But one area I believe that could be improve with the headphones are the tips: One parts of the tips that I could improve is how it fits. I believe that the material that it is used is foam. Foam as a material can serve and I believe it is used in the headphone to improve the sound. But the main disadvantage that I see it is not as flexible or adaptive as the Airpods. While it is not a great and life-changing issue, I do believe this area could be improve. But on the other hand I believe that foam as a material is very good for sound and combined with the hardware and software quality of the headphone, I believe this was a reward versus risk situation with the people who designed the headphones. Conclusion: Overall, these headphones are very good and probably one of the best in the market. The sound quality and design of the headphones are one of the best. Even without the equalizer used in the Sony headphone app is still one of the best sounding headphone that I ever heard. I believe that these headphone are worth their money.

Love these! they connect and disconnect instantly upon taking them out/ putting them back in the case! the noise cancelling is super good and they sound amazing! I haven't even explored all the sound options in the app but they are extremely customizable! the only thing I would recommend is purchasing a locking case if you're clumsy like me. if you drop them they will go flying out of the case.

Great quality amazing sounding headphones. Long battery life great design (doesn’t hurt my ears after wearing all day) and case is nice and small. Sound Connect app does take a while too setup and navigate for new users but does have nice features and settings. Noise cancellation is also really good but nothing beats the AirPods Pro’s unfortunately. Overall great headphones would definitely recommend to all who are interested in wireless headphones

it's great for everyday use. Great Sound quality. The battery last for the whole day. The recharge is fast. The only problem would be answering phone calls as the volume is not high enough and the outside sounds affect the calls most of the time
