For calls, they're absolutely awful - to the point that if there is even a small amount of background noise, folks on the other end can't hear you. Something is fundamentally broken in how the mics try to mute background noise. Mine are getting returned. If you need to do calls, look elsewhere.

1. Confirm proper placement: Make sure the earbuds are securely and correctly placed in their respective slots (left in the left, right in the right) until they click or seat firmly.

They also kept falling out of my ears. I have Bose over the ear noise canceling and the buds were no where near that quality. I returned them for a full refund.

Of all my different brands of earbuds, I’ve always reached for Sony when I want to escape into my music and the WF-1000XM5’s are their best yet when it comes to sound quality & noise cancelling. For starters, right out of the box, they paired quickly & fit securely. I tried them in different environments over the last week & I’m amazed by the high level of noise cancelling. Sony’s processors combined with 6 microphones really shut down the outside world. I already had the Sony Headphones App & highly recommend it for max enjoyment. It has so many features, but I primarily use the equalizer, adaptive sound control & it to set my general preferences. Although these buds are great for everyday use (phone calls, podcasts, and they’re even water/sweat resistant for workouts) I enjoy them the most when I want full immersion into my music. Sony’s driver unit (Dynamic Driver X) puts out crisp clear sound & vocals with low distortion. I like heavy bass, and Sony buds have always been the finest. These buds are no exception. The equalizer in the App has a max bass boost setting or you can adjust to fit your taste. The tap controls on the outside of the buds are very sensitive. I barely have to touch them to switch between noise cancelling & ambient sound, or play/pause/forward, etc.. Battery life is excellent. With the case Sony lists 24 hours of battery life. I’ve used them an entire week without having to recharge them. Overall, these are 5 star high quality buds that truly shine. Sony should be proud.

For fit concern, the WF-1000XM5 features an improved glossy texture and a more luxurious feel, these earbuds fit comfortably in your ears while keeping out external sounds. Our WF-1000XM5 earbuds feature a shape that perfectly matches the human ear with an ergonomic design for a more stable fit.
To ensure optimal performance, as well as to obtain the best fit and prevent the headset from falling out, change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. If you feel earbud tips are difficult to put into your ears, change the size of earbud tips or squeeze earbud tips lightly before wearing the headset. When wearing them, gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal.

Please change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. Design is very good, they are on the smaller end and are compact-design seems very durable - and I like the fact that these earbuds don’t stick out of my ear like other name brand earbuds They are also comfortable to the ear and are not heavy for me- they are very lightweight. Setup on the earbuds was fairly easy-and these earbuds connected easily to Bluetooth and paired well with my iPhone . No issues or complaints with that. Sound quality is very clear -noise canceling works well. And battery life is pretty long too, I was impressed with this- and the charging case. there is nothing worse than having to recharge your EarPods every night because they run low on battery. Bluetooth range is very good. I do think that the price point in these earbuds is wayyyy to high, but they do work up to the price tag because they are wonderful!

The first thing you will notice will be the size and weight of these Sony earbuds. The charging case and the earbuds are very small and lightweight. The charging case can easily fit in your pockets. The next thing you have to figure out is the size of the eartips that fit properly. There are two major factors that I consider when purchasing earbuds and comfort is a close second next to sound quality. The ear pieces are extremely comfortable and easy to adjust. I found myself wearing these for 3 hours without any discomfort. I highly recommend that you download the Sony Headphones app as this will allow you to enjoy and explore all of the features of these earbuds. The next two items are the really important ones to me when it comes to these Sony earbuds. The first part is the sound quality, it is truly amazing! The app comes with a customizable 5-band EQ adjustment. This makes a world of a difference when it comes to sound quality. The second item is also extremely good on these earbuds; the noise-cancellation feature. Noise-cancellation is top of the line on this pair. I commute every day and having this option is a must. These Sony do an excellent job of cancelling the ambient noise. Some of other features that stood out is the battery life, ease of bluetooth connection and the use of head motions to answer phone calls. Overall, I was very impressed with these Sony earbuds and I would highly recommend them for anyone looking to purchase high quality earbuds.

I just recently got my third pair. My first I had to exchange immediately. One of the buds kept making a beeping noise. The second pair maybe lasted me 6 months. I will have to go back a look. But eventually the buds and case just stopped turning on. Now the recent pair I bought 19 days ago. Just a few days past the return date case is having troubles charging. I will have to start the process with sony to see what they can do. In the mean time will have to find another brand. I work too much to not have buds

Wish they had wing tips or something to keep them from falling out but unfortunately these arent for me. Wanted to love them but sadly i will be returning these. Ear buds look great and the case is very nice. Supporting app was also nice and wasy to setup otherwise.
