Pretty nice while they last.

Noise canceling is nice. Comfortable. BUT. I’ve owned these about 17 months now. With about 30 days total use. And they just snapped on me mid flight. Wonderful. From other reviews I’ve seen. This seems like a common issue. I won’t be using Sony again for headphones.

I have AirPods Pro and wanted to switch to headphones. The Sony Headphones give a lot of control over the headphones and the ability to switch between devices. Sometimes, I have experienced a tiny bit issue when switching as I have paired multiple devices. Battery life is good. One thing I am unhappy about is these are not water-resistant and can't use during gym/workouts. That is one drawback that stops me from giving it 5 stars. Apart from that, these are excellent.

Perfect Over Ear

I have compared these against the Bose and in terms of sounds they are way better and almost as good at noise cancellation. The comfort is great for long plane rides. I use them on average twice a month on the plane and love them. Only downside is their app is not the greatest but you don’t need to use after you set them up.

The noise cancelling is so effective that when I turn them off, it sounds like construction is going on outside my home until I realize that this noise is the noise I listen to all day long. These are worth every penny! The sales person who helped me in the store was so friendly, helpful, and wore a mask to protect the both of us. She made me want to buy even more. Thanks for the great customer service!

I literally spent part of my flight sleeping comfortably without music playing because of how good the noise cancelling is. Can wear for hours with glasses and battery life is great.

The noise cancellation is near perfect. Took them on a flight and apparently there was a baby screaming the entire time behind my seat. I heard nothing. Yet, i could hear the pilot when i needed. Bass could be better but overall, great.

It is ideal for traveling. Unfortunately, that is not my major use. Pros. Best sound isolation i have tried. I thought that my xm3's where great, this is much better. Being able to pair with 2 or more devices at a time is what originally had me try them. It works great for that. I have them connected to phone, tablet and computer. Auto switching when sound is heard on each device. The ear pads are larger but thinner than early models. Better fit for me. That is totally a subjective veiw. Some don't like that, others do Cons.. greatest con, the lack of control over sound isolation. Good for traveling which helps you hear important voices but terrible for when you want silence, which is why i use them. Sometimes the auto shut-off of noise canceling if i cough or say something when i had disabled that feature is really annoying when I'm in a very loud area, like mowing my lawn. I can not get the headphones to cancel out voice at all. With the model 3 you could set voice canceling but with this model 5 you can not. I can no longer pair my model 3 with my phone, the sony app refuses to connect. Still waiting for an answer from them. Ok, lest bad thing but very important. Normally, when you take off your headphones, you either put them around your neck or lay them down with the pads close to your body or down toward the table. The model 5 will only fold forward if you loop them around your neck so the ear pads are pointed away from you, open to anything that could get in them. Dirt, water, bugs, people sneezing, whatever. So, if you don't want your headphones collecting these things, you can not put them around your neck. You must take them all the way off and find a way to protect them because they will not fold together either. Overall, I love them. A little annoying to take care of them but I find it worth it for their abilities.

The noise cancellation on them is amazing and the customizable features and buttonless gestures are so cool. However, if you are looking to get these for the gym, I would stray away because these aren’t meant for that and I dont think they are water resistant. They also dont fold so they aren’t too portable, but they did come with a case and everything is high quality.

The connectivity doest alway work first try, the talk to speak option could use refining and I find the overall sound isn't as warm as I'd like but it does excel at producing clear tones. They have great battery life and the noise canceling is the best ive seen, better than my the bose qc45 headpones i previously had. Overall I'm happy with the purchase and find them better than my previously headphones.
