They have great sound quality for music or podcasts and come with a study case to protect them.

Good but not worth the price

But the sound doesn't feel right, its missing base and sometimes can sound a bit low. They're definitely overpriced with cheap quality material. They also stain very easily, any minor oils on your hands will stain them. Constantly having to wipe off.

The blue colour looks especially pleasing. I forget to charge them for days yet they still have over a day's worth of battery in them each time.

Multiple piercings approved!

The cups don’t irritate or put pressure on your earrings. I love these, my only complaint is I wish the band had better cushioning. The top of my head gets sore after listening for a couple hours and doesn’t go away for a while.

Please make sure to wear the headset properly. Adjust the length of the slider and orientation of the left and right units so that the earpads fit snugly all around your ears. If you put on the headset without adjusting the slider, the headset may not be positioned properly on your head, resulting in discomfort or a weak noise canceling effect. TONS OF CONNECTIVITY ISSUES

While the sound quality and comfort are pristine, there are connectivity issues almost every time I use. It randomly disconnects, beeps, pauses my music, skips a track, does everything I don’t want it to do. Turning off gesture controls sometimes makes it better, but I did not shell out 400 bucks to compromise on basic comfort.

One of the better noise cancelling headphones

Wasn’t exactly blown out of the water by their sound quality or noise cancellation but they still do both very well. Headphones are tight on the head.

Poor design for longevity or repairability

Worse noise canceling than the wh-1000xm3. If you are a soft hipster type who doesn't know what a hammer is for the rubber coating might not start wearing off in a month or two. Maybe don't mow the lawn with them, or paint, or do anything but sit sweat-sweat free staring at your phone. They are not German Shephard proof. If the headband needs to be replaced there is a cable that attaches the two sides that runs through the bracket where the connector cannot fit. Thus, to do any significant repair to the headband, including the soft, ultra delicate faux rubber around the padding you better know where to source and how to crimp on an extraordinarily brittle 16 pin connector. Thank god for ebay and electrical tape. I won't be winning any fashion awards with my Frankenphones. If I had known they were so difficult to repair I wouldn't have purchased.

They sound good out the box but the app with eq really brings them to life. My only complaint is the headband feels cheep. Finger prints show really easy but that isnt a concern for me.

Better than what she had on her Xmas list

Eight months in, always lets me know how she really loves the headphones and how she really enjoys them and enjoys all the different sound settings. So happy with this purchase. And as she mentions she’s happy I bought them for her instead of the items she had on her Christmas list. She’s 16 years old 15 at the time of purchase.

Great Sound and Tech, Questionable Build Quality

I grabbed them to use them for their 51st’ish hour of use ans the left ear piece snapped off as I was putting them on. I do not have a large head. I have owned and bought for others: XM2s, XM3s, and now these XM5s. I think Sony got it wrong with the structural change.
