Too slow
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this Labtop to perform business functions. That includes all Microsoft products and Flash. It is undoubtedly one of the slowest Labtop’s I have owned. Overpriced for the value...

Versatile and Elegant
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP Spectre x360 is a laptop that allows for just about anything you are seeking to do. From the simplistic yet elegant design to the speed and power of the latest processor, there is going to be just about enough to please you whatever your task may be. The HP Spectre right out of the box looks very well made and almost too elegant for me to even have. The laptop itself is very thin and light making it very portable and easy to travel with. While i would of liked to see this in a TB hard drive, there is still plenty of space to accomplish your everyday task and even get in some light gaming. One of the first features i noticed about this laptop is how vibrant and gorgeous the screen display and colors were. Streaming videos off of youtube was almost better then watching them off my 4k Samsung tv. The next thing that caught my eye that i was very surprised to see was the fact that they put some time and money in to the speakers. The speakers are a Bang & Olufsen and what i can tell you is this company does not make cheap speakers and it showed in this laptop. I personally don't like using the speakers on any of my laptops which is why i always have headphones with me while im on my laptop. This laptop however sounded very crisp and clean while streaming music off of Spotify. The music sounded very full and rich. This laptop comes with the latest Microsoft software allowing you to literally accomplish any and every task you may need done. With the fold back screen display and ability to draw and highlight items on your screen this makes this laptop even more ideal when making presentations either for school or work. Having the latest Intel packed inside this thing meant that i was able to pull up multiple windows while streaming music and videos while still maintaining lighting quick browsing speed. The added fingerprint scanner was a very nice design to implement in this seeing as how alot of laptops still don't utilize this technology. The keys have a backlight making them more visible at night for all you late night workers. Battery life on this was very good, i got about 15 hours of solid use time and that was with me writing up reports while streaming music in the background. One thing i wanted to check out for this laptop since it has a pretty decent Nividia graphics card is how well it could handle some pretty intense gaming. I uploaded fallout to see how smooth game rendering would be and i was pleasantly surprised as to how well it handled it. There was no lag or blurs in my game and shadow textures looked very crisp and clean. This thing played like it was a gaming laptop. While games like fallout take up alot of space and probably wouldn't be my first choice for the use of this laptop its just nice to see that this flagship can handle it. One thing i did notice though about this design is that it gets rather hot after a couple hours of heavy use. I found that resting it on my legs to work was not very comfortable due to the bad heat displacement. I usually don't rest my laptops on my lap anyways but what worries me is that poor heat displacement can lead to premature failure of parts but i guess time will have to be the test for this design. This laptop is pretty much in my opinion your standard design in the way of 360 screens with the a few slight differences to upgraded hardware and power. There are a few things to note however that you should be aware on this model. You are given a finger print scanner and IR camera but you lack any opitical drive which is pretty much standard nowadays. The wireless and bluetooth built ins means you can connect to internet anywhere there is a wifi connection and utilize all your bluetooth devices including printers. This is a very beautiful and elegant design that packs some power. If you are looking for a laptop that can tackle anything and i mean anything then this is your go to laptop.

Having some issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to go through a whole process with the driver updates. My laptop also makes a strange creaking noise when you push on the laptop by the mouse pad.

Okay for office professionals, not creators
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its okay. The fingerprint sensor doesn't work very well. It's pretty good for a PC but don't expect use Adobe photoshop and Premiere without moderate lag.

very impressive laptop at this price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the good - good specs for this price point - Intel i7 chip with 4 cores, 16GB of DDR4 memory. - beautiful 4k IPS display - Really an absolutely fantastic display at well beyond this price. While you probably won’t use the screen in native 1:1 4k, the Windows scaling has come quite a long way. - full size keyboard with number pad - One of the drawbacks to using some laptops is the keyboard. Whether it is key size, spacing, or up and down travel, there is often times a bit of adjustment or just plain acceptance when typing one them. Not so in this case. The keyboard feels really nice to me, with good key travel and spacing that took no adjustment. The almost but not quite full size number pad is a nice bonus. - array of ports, USB type C, A, full size size hdmi, and microSD - I’m not a huge fan of the proprietary power plug, but you are actually able to charge via USB C on this laptop. The only catch is, it takes 90W to power it, so any typical chargers you might plug into are likely to be underpowered. - solid, sturdy and premium feeling design - Not the thinnest laptop on the market, but certainly not thick by any means. Very solid feeling in the hands, and hinges feel sturdy as well. The display folds all the way over for tablet usage, though the keyboard facing the back is not one of my favorite features of this type of 2-in-1 design. - fast 512GB SSD - facial recognition login - This was a nice bonus for me. I no longer need to type my password in when logging in. It remains to be seen how useful this will be (akin to the iOS facial recognition that replaces password or fingerprint for login, payments, etc.) but even just logging in with it is really cool. - dedicated NVIDIA card (equivalent of a GT 1030) - While it won’t be confused for a gaming laptop, having a discrete video card in this kind of machine is a nice touch. Don’t expect anything more than low to mid settings on FHD if you do game on it, however. - fairly decent speakers for a laptop - Generally, these are an oversite. I certainly don’t use them much, but they sound fairly good for tiny laptop speakers all the same. the bad - really none for me misc: - color scheme - Some may find that they would prefer blacks and grays over the brown and copper color scheme that HP has chosen. I personally would, but it’s not ugly by any means. overall: This feels like a very solid offering from HP. Benchmarking this against my 2017 Macbook pro, and the results were neck and neck. Considering that machine cost more than a grand more, I’d call that a win for HP. 5 stars.

Worse Laptop that cannot do the basic function
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WIFI CANNOT AUTOMATICALLY RECONNECT. Purchased on 3/7. use it for about 15 days, i thought i have a good deal, unit look great with nice design, everything seems working fine and responsive. but I start to realize every time I bring the laptop between home & office. the wifi cannot be reconnected automatically. and i need to manually turn off and on the wifi signal which very annoying. the thing gets even worse. when unit wakes up from sleep mode. the wifi signal also cannot reconnect also. i spend more than 1 week with HP tech support to figure out the issue, firmware update, network driver update, window update and re-formating still not able to fix the issue. this laptop cannot handle the most basic job of connecting the internet. Best Buy rep refuse to do any warranty or return or exchange due to 30 days return policy, but this is a whole new unit for less than a month and found it is mfg defective of network card which HP cannot be fixed. now I had to ship the unit back to HP, it will cause me more than 10 days without a laptop for my work. HP rep cannot answer me what if the unit cannot fix, will they agree to replace me another new unit or not. i will keep another update later when i find out.

Defective Graphics card
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Laptop had a defective graphics card. For a laptop this expensive, something like this should have never happened. The laptop should have been thoroughly tested before being sold to the consumer. QC at HP is dropping . Ended up returning it and purchasing a Dell

pretty sweet laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.has what you would want in a computer; i7 processor, 512G ssd, 16G of ram, and nvidia graphics (with 2G dedicated ram). Great for all around use but not really a gaming computer but does play games well too! I tried a few games on it just to see how it would do. I am a fan of racing games so I tried a few of my favorites on it and was pleasantly surprised how it performed. I have a gaming laptop which plays these well so I wanted to compare the two. First was nfs shift which is an old game (about 10 years old now but still one of my favorites) and of course it played very well. I still think it's my favorite. Next was nfs payback which is only about a year old now and it also ran great. Finally i tried nfs rivals which age is somewhere between the two and it seems a little sluggish for some reason but still very playable. It has great graphics which may explain it's slower play. But it's slower gameplay just alows more time to react to the action and enjoy the great graphics. Get two of these (one for your wife so she won't nag you to use it).

Nice and stunning machine but with big hardware pr
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased HP spectre 15.6 inch x360, 16gb ram with 512 b ssd in OPEN BOX. Spent money on installing Norton Antivirus and loaded my entire data. After about a week, I noticed that right side speaker is not working. HP Tech Support guided me online and advised to take it to Best Buy. The Geek squad expert checked and advised to return the laptop being hardware problem. I purchased the second open box with same configuration. It is year 2019 but this too having hardware issue as SHIFT KEY in not being pressed. It is disappointing with much talked about stunning and aesthetically designed machine. Have to return this machine too. I am totally confused which one to but now ?? I urgently need one.

Powerful 2 in 1 laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a powerful 2 in 1 laptop. Packed full of features. I think HP was listening to it's customers on this one with some nice updates to an already great machine. First thing that surprised me was this machine never got hot or even warm on my lap. And the build quality is outstanding, every component just feels solid and sturdy. It has a full keyboard with number pad and touch pad. And it has a backlit keyboard with two brightness levels. You will also find an HDIM port along with an usb port and a usb-c port. I find the HDMI very handy for use with a second monitor when I'm at my desk. The touchscreen is very responsive with both your finger or the supplied stylus pen. It's not the rechargeable pen, it takes an AAA battery, but also comes with the needed battery. This screen is nice and big . Good for watching Netflix's. With good battery life also. I've gone over 8 hours with out needing a charge. And when it dose need one you will find that it charges quickly. I do find it a little awkward to use it as a tablet. It's just a little too big for me that way. Has no problem multitasking with the Intel Core i7 @ 1.80GHz and 16GB total memory. All in all I feel this unit can handle and surpass the needs of most users. I am very happy with this laptop.

Good until warranty expires, then useless
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked admirably for the first 18 months. Then Wi-Fi issues, finally resolved. Now won't power on, tried everything in the (online) book. Not worth it to try and find a repair shop in Maine these days. Easier to just buy a new one. Argh.
