A: Unfortunately laptops are a bit like mattresses... every retailer uses a different model number to differentiate so it's very difficult to compare, shop, price-match, etc. This one is a bit different from the one on HP's website at the same price-point... they used different memory, included a different pen, a micro-SD card reader vs. the full-sized SD card reader slot, and the USB ports are different. Beyond that, it's pretty close to the same in performance and features.
A: To fix the fan issue: go to Power Options, and change Cooling Policy to Passive. Change maximum processor state to 99% too. If you didn't find these in your Power Option, google how to enable them to power options. You can add them by simple registry edits.
Q: What are differences between this model 15-DF0013DX and 15-CH011DX?
A: One potentially important difference, besides the USB C port locations, is that the 15-CH011DX has a full-size SD Card slot, while the 15-DF0013DX only has MicroSD (if you have full-size SD cards, you will need to get a USB SD Card adapter).
Q: Can we add a HDD to work together with the SSD? Or it supports just the SSD? Thanks.
A: From our data for this model, it only supports the SSD, and does not have space for a HDD. You can upgrade the capacity of the SSD should you choose to, though! The maintenance guide lists up to a 2TB SSD!
Q: So what's with integrated graphics ? Is it better than having a dedicated one?
A: No; dedicated graphics are stronger and provide better graphic visuals than integrated graphics, though this is more important for video editing and gaming.
Q: How much additional ram can you add?
A: I bought my Spectre 15" 4k in December in the older style aluminum case mine is upgradable to 32 gigs mine has a 4 core 1.8 to 4 gig processor I think it is a 8505 processor. 2 gigs of video 16 gigs ram. If you buy a new gem cut with a 6 core 2.2 to 4 gig processor it is only 16 gigs not upgradable in the Vega 4 gig video card version. You may still get a gem cut with a 8505 processor but you should ask. The 6 core has an additional fan which replaced the ram slots. Check the processor in Best buy's new gem cut would be a start. HP only sells six core 2.2 to 4 gig processors but I believe it is 30 percent faster than a 3.1 gig 4 core processor.
A: This product has NVIDIA GeForce MX150, 2 GB GDDR5 dedicated.
Q: Is it possible to connect this laptop to the ethernet using a ethernet to thunderbolt adapter?
A: Yes, you could connect that way.
