To fix the fan issue: go to Power Options, and change Cooling Policy to Passive. Change maximum processor state to 99% too. If you didn't find these in your Power Option, google how to enable them to power options. You can add them by simple registry edits.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Actually this laptop is very loud. Fan 1 always running at 3200 rpm and makes whistle sound like when airplanes take off. it happens when you open Chrome or Word or sometimes even when it is idle.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wouldn't say it's quiet... it definitely works for a good 30 minutes when you first turn on the computer (regardless of what you are doing) before it quiets down.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The fans on the HP Spectre X360 15-DF0013DX do come on periodically. I do notice when they start up, but soon forget that they are running. I haven't noticed them operating while I am browsing the web, but I do notice them when I am working with something that is accessing my external hard drives.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was searching for a slightly lower-power i7 as well, one that wouldn't make as much noise as my SP3 did. I've had this for about 20 days. I use Microsoft Edge because of how heavy Google Chrome is, but even with 14 tabs open, the fans stay off. You will feel the base warm up a little, and if videos start playing on multiple tabs, the fan will fire up. But most of time, it's off and comfortably quiet. It should be noted that I set Edge to limit video autoplay and disable ads.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. All of our Spectre models have very quite operation. I am using one right now! I cannot even hear it. The only time I hear the fans is when I attempt heavy programs or sometimes when it is plugged in for charging as the battery generates heat.
