Such a pleasure to use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Treated myself to one of these for Christmas after years of using my kids hand-me-downs and my work machine. Such a feeling of quality, gorgeous screen (gorilla glass!) love the touch pad and sketching with it. Battery lasts for days. Super fast, super crisp. Sound playing spotify is amazing, with different instruments bouncing from one set of speakers to the other. Getting to know Cortana and Windows 10 and the more I see the more I like. Windows and HP support have been fantastic with the few questions I had. Love it.

Awesome Laptop!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a business professional and Part time Doctoral student that mainly uses this laptop for internet surfing, watching Netflix, video conferencing, and data calculation. The laptop looks amazing and comes with a leather case. It also comes with a pen but I’ve never used it. The laptop easily fits in my carry-on bag without creating any bulk. The charger that comes with it is very compact as well. The laptop is fast, and the screen is vibrant. The keys have a wonderful feel to them despite the laptop’s thin profile. One of my other favorite things about this laptop is that it has 10 key, which I find amazingly useful when entering data or doing calculations. For security, the laptop gives you the option of using facial recognition or a fingerprint. I set it up with the facial recognition and it always recognizes me, even in the dark. The WiFi is more than adequate. I was able to get 215 mbps from 75 feet away which is significantly better than my old laptop (I have a 300 mbps WiFi) My only complaint would be that the touchpad, while adequate, does not compare with best in class touchpads such as the Mac pro. When highlighting multiple items (click-drag) I have to ensure I’m clicking on the far left of the pad or the laptop will sometimes register the motion as a right click. It’s not a deal breaker and I adjusted to this fairly quickly. Another thing this laptop does is that it automatically auto rotates when you turn it on it’s side or flip it over, which is handy when looking at photos that were not taken in landscape mode. If you don’t like this feature, you can turn it off in the screen setting. Overall, I love this laptop and would highly recommend it.

It not to heavy to use as a tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Spectra 15" 4k 2 in 1 in December from Best Buy mine had the aluminum case Best Buy sells the plastic case version at this time. My son's surface book 2 died so I had to give him mine. He loves using it with the pen taking notes during lectures. He likes it in tablet mode weight is not an issue. After I went through the exchange process with Microsoft for a new surface book 2 he wanted to keep the 15" spectra he loves using it in tablet mode as the bigger screen works out much better. Yes he uses it in tablet mode. I myself bought another HP Spectre and am waiting for it to be delivered. Fantastic 4k display. We sold the surface book after the exchange at Microsoft ours died after 4 months however they quickly exchanged it at a Microsoft store with no hassle. Great job HP great service Microsoft

It's a great machine, one problem I have.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's is a great machine, boots on in a few seconds and the screen is amazing. HP delivered on all the promises in the specs. I do a lot of graphics and video and those are seamless, handles Adobe very well. There is very little plastic and the metal components make very solid without adding weight. My only issue is that is gold, not silver as stated which carries over to the keyboard. Unless your sitting at the right angle it makes it hard to see the keyboard, minor to the rest of specs and performance.

Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s nice, the only thing is that it overheats (gets really hot where the fans are) if you are playing a pc game. Other then that it’s not bad if it’s used for school work and such.

Great laptop when it's working, please read
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this for around a year, and when my right speaker went out, it seemed like a simple fix. I opened it up and tried to test it myself, which lead me to the fact that it had a blown speaker, I contacted customer service to ask for a replacement to be sent so that I could replace it myself, which seemed easy enough. They said that they're not allowed to send parts to the customers. So I had to ship my entire laptop in and waste time and money to get this done. They send it back and the for some odd reason replaced my motherboard too!!!??! After the motherboard replacement, my computer started BSOD'ing me and then wouldn't boot randomly and said "No Boot Device Found", then it would start working other times. So they made me ship it in again, the service tech called me stating that he couldn't reproduce the issue, and I'm like 'it's intermittent' so he proceeds to just replace the motherboard again. I get it back and it now has the right speaker issue again, so I'm assuming he just replaced the motherboard with my old one or something dumb like that, so now I'm stuck shipping to them a third time. Please avoid this laptop due to HP's service issues and deficiencies, they are major. I'd recommend a Dell or Lenovo at this point. The laptop is an awesome catch all when it is working, but i'll be a monkeys uncle if I should have just lived with my small speaker issue instead of shipping it in the first time(which I shouldn't have to do)

Excellent 2 in 1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading many issues online about HP's quality control, I was a bit hesitant to purchase this model. The PC that I got, however, has no flaws from the factory and performs excellent. The laptop is quite good for such a thin device and the 4k screen is quite vivid. I am impressed with the looks and feel of every part of this laptop, would recommend as long as no QC issues are present from factory.

So Close, Yet So Far...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really fell in love with the HP Spectre x360 at first. The design is super classy, very thin and light-weight, with slick copper accents and professional-looking sand-blasted finish. The 4K Ultra HD display is simply stunning, the frame around the screen is very thin, and the touch screen works really well. The fingerprint trackpad was convenient also. One of the main deciding criteria for me though, was how good the keyboard feels. This laptop, by far, has the best feeling when typing. I'm a programmer, so keyboard feel is really important to me. ...but there is a catch, and it's an ugly one. At first I thought the trackpad was acting strangely. When I was two-finger scrolling, the trackpad would often inadvertently click, which would spontaneously open up links or click on ads. The scroll would also randomly bounce in the opposite direction of my scroll, all the way to the top/bottom of the page. It's incredibly frustrating. I was even able to figure out how to lock the pointer up in some scenarios. I drew the line when, without even touching the track pad, the pointer was randomly jittering and moving around on its own. I tried playing with the Synaptics settings for hours to no avail. Tried re-installing/updating the drivers, no dice. Tried disabling the tablet pen, same diff. Wrote Synaptics and HP an e-mail, no reply. Looked it up online, and apparently a lot of people have the same issues. Go figure. Thinking this might just have been a defect in the trackpad or Windows installation, I decided to exchange the laptop for the same model. This time, when I first booted the PC to do the Windows 10 setup, the pointer didn't even show up! Nothing! I did the Windows updates, still no pointer. Updated the touchpad drivers from HP site, nada. The device manager couldn't even detect the touchpad! That was it for me. I returned the 2nd laptop and replaced it with another brand. Maybe one day HP/Synaptics will roll out a better driver, but I'm not willing to sit around waiting. It really is a shame. I really liked the laptop. If you can deal with the cheap and defective trackpad, then go for it, I'm sure you'll love this laptop. Otherwise, save your money and buy another brand.

Love the laptop but questions about reliability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop worked well as my primary work computer for 14 months after purchase. Then the problems started. The USB ports started stalling and apparently somehow corrupting all media inserted into the drive. All anti-virus and drive integrity tests pass without errors. The problem progressed until is was no longer even possible to boot the computer from a USB stick. I apparently made a configuration error at one point that fouled up my boot record. I cannot recover using an emergency disk because I can't boot the machine from any USB drive! Love the form factor, the display, and features. But I have questions about the reliability. Unfortunately I purchased neither Geek Squad coverage or extended HP warranty, therefore I am out a large repair bill or have to consider the laptop a total loss in only 14 months of use.

Good concept, but too many issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first model had so many issues with the touch screen and the bluetooth. I had it replaced at best buy when they realized the hardware could not be fixed. The new model they gave me constantly has issues. The fingerprint scanner stopped working after a month. They keep having me reset the driver, but it keeps crashing. The bluetooth also stopped working correctly. It gets my mouse, but headphones never work. Also, the audio is constantly breaking as well. My microphone is no longer working. The drivers are all out of wack and their only suggestion is to do a full reset of the computer. I have not tried fixing this thing without their support, so I'm not making these problems on my own... it's just constantly falling apart every other month. I'm pretty certain these speakers are not working correctly either. When on google chrome, nothing really is as loud as it should be able to go when I am on max volume. It's more at 25%. I had high hopes for this computer as it comes at a high price and the design is great. However, poor execution on the deliverables.

You don’t even get what you pay for anymore
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received this laptop as a gift July 2018, wife bought this because of recommendation from sales people. First thing I noticed was the touchpad. You have to use the touchpad for the mouse buttons, and they only worked correctly about 50% of the time. Wish they would have put mechanical mouse buttons on. I had to purchase a mouse, which now takes up my one USB port. Next is the battery, was great at first, but after 6 months of light duty, the battery is already not holding a charge as long. HP puts a lot of “software” on the laptop which is not only unnecessary, but very annoying as it pops up all the time. You can opt out, but you shouldn’t have to. Lastly I would expect the lifespan of a high end laptop to be longer than 6 months... yes, the motherboard went. Our last laptop was a dinosaur, lasted til we recycled it. Although it it under warranty, I will now be without a laptop for 2-4 weeks. Very disappointed in the garbage we are importing these days. On the plus side, it did start up quickly with the SSD drive... for a whole 6 months.

Terrible almost non-stop fan has loud noise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will be returning this due to the loud fan noise that hardly stops even when I closed all applications and just kept 1 browser open on best buy's site to shop for an alternative laptop! I can't believe such a pricey device has such a problem! Too bad because screen colors in 4k were great but you can't use it when a loud fan is so distracting and annoying. I had in A-mode, aka "Tent mode" so nothing was causing heat!

the turn-on button got stuck and the cost is astro
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The turn-on button got stuck. The repair center told me that it is not covered by the warranty and they offered to fix it for a mere $500, half the cost of unit. Considering that it was refurbished it probably cost the same as the laptop itself. The turn-on button is dangerously exposed to the outside impact, it is hidden on the inside panel.

UNACCEPTABLE BATTERY LIFE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Trash product, UNNACEPTABLE BATTERY LIFE, also it underperforms despite top of line specs, unable to handle even moderately demanding tasks, unusable for editing or gaming, only useful for things a $300 chromebook could do just as well, do not buy this
