This reader is a very reliable device and so quick a simple to use. Only minutes to hook up to your phone and start using. Have had no problems and very inexpensive to use and it is quick and you can send the person a receipt right away.

The Square card reader with the 3.5mm plug is so easy to use.

I needed the product in order to receive credit card payments for my small business. I searched on line for places that carried the product. I liked the idea that I could get best buy rewards for the purchase from Best Buy.

The device is small and convenient, and the app is easy to install and navigate. The reader is compatible with a wide range of third-party hardware accessories, like receipt printers, scales, and barcode scanners. The Square Reader is a great value for money, and the deposits are usually available in your bank account in one to two business days.

We wanted to add the option of credit cards for our sports association. Previously we were a cash only organization. This is by far the fastest and easiest way to get set up. We created the online account, added our accounts, installed the app (android) and were up and going in under an hour. Could not have been easier. Couple of issues, but nothing that I would take a star for. First off, when you swipe move quickly but not lightning speed. Trying to swipe too fast gives us a read error every time. Same with going too slow. Second, and this is not the fault of the manufacturer, if you have a case of your phone you may have to remove it for the reader to be fully inserted. I had to take the one off my S10. This seems to apply mostly to the Otter type cases and the like. Thin flexible ones don't seem to have the same issue. Overall I love this reader. Price is perfect, functions reliably and does what it is supposed to do. Great product!

I love these. My business is mostly on the road so it's nice to have something so compact and easy to use. So much ease of use for waiting customers. As I said above, I've bought a lot for business and most have been fine I've only had a couple maybe out of 20 break/stop working - for example one had the headphone jack come out. But I think a lot is how it's stored, they're pretty sturdy and reliable. I don't think I've had any problems with this specific one. Just plug it into the headphone jack of your device and slide the credit card through. So much easier than the large cumbersome wired but portable credit card machines I've used in the past. Great buy/idea.

From a small biz end, Square is where it is at. Small percentage fee for withdraw to your bank account.. Use their bank and easy no fee hassle. Get the app, there is not a Windows App, nor an Apple. Could use an emulator, but the plug won't work, as it has no idea what is being used. The slider just makes it all click. These new phones don't have a jack anymore, and if you want to use this particular doodad, then you'll need the adaptor, which Best Buy has made by Google. Works great. Plug it up, run the app, the app looks for the reader, finds it and you are ready to go.. If you set it up with Square first. Everyone should have one. The users for financials is unbound.

The Square - Card Reader - White, was purchased in an emergency situation as my old square unit was discovered to be old, outdated, and no longer worked for processing cards with the Square service. Best Buy was able to supply me with this newly updated model for a cheap price so I didn't have to wait 4-6 weeks for Square to send me the free one. PROS - Quick setup - Easy usage - Updated to current Square technology requirements CONS - Does not accept RFID Chips, Cards must still have Magnetic Strip to work - Not compatible with iPhone 7 or above unless you have an adapter due to the 3.5mm headphone jack requirement, but works well with the adapter - Not free like when ordering from Square directly, however it is a quick and cheap alternative if you need it faster than waiting for shipping from Square

These are great for backup when the square readers stop connecting and you are having a busy day. These plug into the microphone jack, and you can use for cards that have no chip. You just plug in, allow access to microphone, and go. No connecting other than that! This not only saves you time, but now you don't have to ask customer for billing zip code. Also swiping is cheaper then inputing it yourself! So smart to get one of these even if you think you won't use!

Square Reader for Magstripe (with headset jack): Great!! Product instructions were easy to follow and took less than 20 minutes. The setup was ready, and I took the first donation. Excellent value for the buck!

I absolutely love this product! It was bought to accept credit cards for some fundraisers I was involved with, and boy did it work! Most people don't carry much cash on them, but do have a card. Setting up a Square account was easy and I also got a $10 credit for buying the Square reader and being a new customer. The reader is super easy to use and small enough that I can keep it in my purse for whenever it's needed. You just plug it into the audio jack and sign into your account. I also love that the package comes with a sticker that shows you accept credit cards. That is something people look for when shopping at markets and fundraisers. I ended up buying 2 readers so another person can help run charges and keep the lines going.

If you run a small business, a food truck, sell your wares at craft fairs, etc. this is the best system I've found for taking credit & debit cards. Simple, affordable and no hidden fees! Great support, daily reports, can be set up to track inventory, etc. The system I was with before wound up taking almost 25% of my transactions in hidden fees, annual fees, one-time mystery membership fees, and had to wait 4-5 days for the funds to hit my bank! With Square it's 2 days max! Very happy, and customers are happy!

Square is great for small stands and is really easy to setup and use. You just go through the app on your phone and you can setup a username and password. You can also input menu items so you don't have to type in the price for each transaction. I found it easier to have multiple card readers going to help with efficiency. The problems with it are it doesn't always read on the first try so you have to swipe multiple times and it requires a checking account. The multiple swipes won't charge customer's cards, but it just gets customers concerned about that. As far as the checking account thing goes, I hate giving my account number and I don't understand why the only way to get my money is through direct deposit on a checking account. All in all it is a great cheap alternative to merchant services and traditional card machines.

How much easier can it get! Buy a square reader and in minutes you are in business. Best Buy has it all! Stopped in to the nearest store - bought one to set up a hair salon when they had problems with their Bank of America Merchant Services. Not only were we up and in business in a few minutes, but the fees are simple and straightforward, nothing like trying to read all the fine print and discovering that there are gobs of hidden charges with traditional Bank and Merchant Services. Don't live in the dark ages. Buy one and get into business quick!

It is very easy to use and setup is instant. However, once the transaction is completed by using this device, the funds do not post until the next day.

I purchased this on a recommendation from another user. I own a small business and in the past I have had several credit card acceptance methods but all of them had hidden fees and seemed to take more of my profits then what I made. With the Square it is all up front and no hidden fees. This has allowed me to accept credit cards at a rate I am very comfortable with the ease of use for the device on my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. For small business you can't go wrong with this device and there is no long term contract or all the fees to go with it.

The card reader and service are great. I carry the tiny card reader in my pocket so I can take donations for my non-profit anywhere. Fees are fair and there is no minimum usage or monthly charges. I only use it for donations so fraud is not an issue. If you are selling products you might want their chip reader with fraud protection. It is still nice to have this reader as it is the only one that fits in the watch pocket of your jeans. Highly recommended.
