Bad advice from the salesperson

No, they're proprietary. They plug-in to the audio port fine but, although both my Android phone and Ipad recognized it, the readers will NOT respond to the P.P.H. app. I needed several for an event the next day. (My "spider" senses told me to test them when I returned home.) I returned them with no problem. Naturally, BB only stocked the one brand. I had to search several stores before I could locate the PayPal readers.
