The headphones are good but my only issue is that when i turn them on sometimes i cant be heard so i have to turn off then on this happens in the game call of duty 6 not sure if its the game or device

The steelseries arctis Nova 5x wireless headset is awesome. To start with, it is supposed to be able to go 60 hours on a single charge, meaning this is the ideal headset for traveling with. On top of that I find them to be incredibly sleek and stylish. I love the design. Additionally, I love that this headset is usable both via Bluetooth, as well as a 2.4 GHz utilizing the included USBC dongle. This means it is usable on almost every device you have, and with the quality and comfort of these headsets, that's a great thing. As far as the fit and comfort level on these, they are lightweight, and do not pinch the head. So many headsets I have used are just too tight, but these are not so tight that they are uncomfortable but not so loose that they will not stay on. I have found the quality of the retractable mic to be excellent, and overall have enjoyed using this headset both for gaming and for work meetings, as the sound is and mic is just that good. I definitely have a new favorite headset!

It's not that bad, but has problems on the pc. Especially connecting when you first turn on the pc. On Xbox works like a charm, no issues.

I’m just a casual gamer, xbox, pc and Quest. Always looking for a well rounded headset to use when I don't want to disturb others. This SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5x came well packaged. I don't know why, but it was kind of a ‘neat’ unboxing for me. It just felt like undoing a puzzle or something. When I finally had the headset out, right out of the gate it felt lightweight but still like a quality headset. In the box you’ll find the headset, a couple usb cables (charging and extension for the dongle), a paper manual, the USB 2.4g dongle, and a small sheet of stickers. I didn’t have any issues connecting the Arctis Nova 5x to any devices with either bluetooth or using the 2.4g dongle. My first use case was playing Gears 5 on a PC laptop with the 2.4g link. Plug in the USB dongle, power things up and it just worked. I opened the app on my phone with the intention of switching the EQ to gears, and was a little dumbfounded that out of all the games listed for the EQ, Gears was nowhere to be found. I picked some other shooter game EQ and went on playing. The sound quality is quite good. Good base, good clear crisp highs. Xray hearing and the immersive sound works well in game play, absolutely helpful hearing subtle sounds and knowing which direction they came from. I think I was hearing things in gears I've never noticed before. Call me old school but I also like having the roller volume controls. Maybe I didn’t look around the app enough, but I wasn’t able to find anywhere to set my own EQ. It looks like you have to use the Engine software to set your own EQ. At least give us a 5 band EQ in the app. Otherwise this seems like too many hoops to jump through just to set a basic EQ. I did notice the passive noise canceling isn’t quite as good as other headsets I’ve used, this may be a pro or con for you. I like the microphone design, I don't use chat very often so it’s nice to be able to tuck it away. The flexible boom is not as likely to be broken from a drop or bump like other hard booms. It seems really flexible and moves easily, but somehow still manages to stay right where you set it, like a magician's magic rope made of some magic material. I wonder how that will hold up over time, or will it eventually turn into a limp noodle? I also tried the Nova 5x with my Quest3 using the 2.4g wireless link. It all linked right up without issue. I had to adjust the headset to the ‘largest head’ settings, but was able to fit it over my halo strap. The sound quality however was subpar, very flat sounding. I think this is a MQ3 issue though and nothing to do with the Nova 5x since it sounds awesome with PC and Xbox play. This is also where and why I realized there was no way to set a basic EQ with the app. I think I could have improved the quality with a basic EQ. Another feature I like is the fast charge. I love having this in USB rechargeable devices. Too many times I grab something to use and the battery is dead. SteelSeries claims 15 minutes charge will give me 6 hours of use, a great feature to have in anything rechargeable. All in all I’d say this is a great mid level headset today. It is way better than an older competitor's higher end headset I used to use. Even with my couple nitpicks I still give it 5 stars.

These are very lightweight headphones with a retractable microphone that works well. A sheet in the box points you to the Arctis Nova Companion App, which guides you through connection and setup via either USB-C dongle or Bluetooth. I setup with Bluetooth and then switched to the dongle (noted as 2.4ghz in the app). Note that when using the dongle on your smartphone, you will need to flip the switch on the USB-C dongle from Green (Xbox) to White (USB). The battery life on these is very long. I played Xbox games, listened to music, and used on the computer for the better part of a week about 6 hours a day and still had some battery left on the initial charge. Things to Know: The volume wheel on the headset is separate from the volume coming from your smartphone or computer, either the Bluetooth OR the dongle. So you want to turn up the headset volume wheel all the way, then set your max desired volume on your device, and then adjust via the headset as needed. The App is essential for setting for gaming. There are over a hundred EQ presets via the app, sure some are for music/voice, etc, but a vast majority are for specific Games. Most series only have the most recent game listed, like Assassin's Creed doesn't have Valhalla listed, only Mirage. Which is fine as you will be using these presets more like genre settings than anything. There are a few generic listings such as "FPS Footsteps". These EQ Presets worked very well when playing on the Xbox, giving you good sound differences to your liking. Here is how it works. Have the headset connected to your phone via Bluetooth. Have the dongle connected to your Xbox via the dongle (with USB-A long adapter cable). Go into the app on your phone, make sure 2.4Ghz is selected and then select your game or something similar from the list and you are good to go. Sidetone (hearing your own voice back into your ears via the mic/headset) levels are controlled via the app. The fit usually a moveable fabric band for fit. If you have a really large noggin, this headset might not fit you that well. I have a pretty average male head and I can wear it as big as it goes and it feels perfect. I can wear it one size smaller but my big ears make the cups feel like they are sitting slightly higher than I prefer. I recommend this headset for a sensitive retractable microphone, great app for adjustments, very light weight and comfortable fit, and very long battery life.

Pads crush my ears a bit since theyre circular and ears arent. Also, the microphone isnt long enough, so i have to pull it closer to speak. Not worth the money, definitely spring the extra $100 for something much better.

Has good bass sound but has issues connecting, and you can hear background noises. Seems like an average low end headset.

This headset is terrible, I’m a college student and come back home for the weekend. After 4 days of not using my headset all of a sudden, it doesn’t connect back to my xbox. IDK how to fix this , restored factory defaults.

Hear me out… the 7X has better build quality, a 3.5 headphone jack, and can be used in 2.4 and Bluetooth mode simultaneously… but the 5X is lighter and more comfortable, has better sound and a companion app you can download to your phone to EQ various settings when playing on console! I haven’t had connection issues with the dongle using the 5X as I did with the 7X and to me the sound on the 5X is more clear. The battery life has been great so far but my only gripe is not having a 3.5 aux jack to use in case the headphones die.

I’m super pleased with these Steelseries headphones. But, I’m a big fan of Steelseries and even though I give them the benefit of the doubt, I think these headphones definitely make me feel like they are a brand to trust. The Arctis Nova 5x has both 2.4 and bluetooth on it and the latency seems right for the distance I tested. I was about 15 feet from my Xbox and I did try wearing them while walking around the first floor of our house while playing music. The sound is fairly good and has a bright profile. It’s great for gaming, but not so great for editing video or sound. They don’t claim to be more than gaming headphones though. I will definitely keep my flat sounding studio headphones for when I’m editing. One of the cooler things about this headset is the retractable microphone. When I made a call with them, I was heard loud and clear. I don’t think there’s much noise filtering because when I used a blender with the headset on, my calling partner couldn’t make out what I was saying. My favorite thing about these headphones is the comfort. Wow, are these comfortable. They are super light and have a second headband that is elastic. I thought it was gimmicky on first view but when I put them on... well I get why it’s there. It allows the headset to float above my head and it really feels light and just right. I have quite a few ANC and studio headsets so I tell you that I have never felt that before about a pair of headphones. Usually they are light but hurt my ears, or they are really nice on my ears (a brand that starts with “B”) but my head doesn’t feel quite right in them. So yes, I’m giving these headphones a “5” because of the comfort and fancy microphone. It’s catered to gamers, and for gaming purposes, these headphones don’t get in your way so you won’t be able to blame them on your poor game. A RECOMMEND from me!
