This game is incredible. If you are trying to find a new game to play by yourself or with family or friends this game is perfect. This is my favorite nintendo switch game of all time. It is amazing

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is simply one of the best fighting games I have ever played. Whether you're a huge fan of the franchise or are mildly interested in this game because it includes a character you like, I guarantee you will find a great deal to enjoy here. Every previous Smash Bros. game has been reviewed highly, but this is the best in the series by a long shot - every character feels balanced and playable. Every stage feels new and fun. There are dozens of separate options and unique features to make this the best fighting game for you - I personally love playing on Stamina Battle with Charging Final Smashes, as it feels the most like a traditional fighting game in that mode, but there are hundreds of other ways to play. It’s ridiculously hard for me to put Ultimate down, and that’s something I haven’t said about a Smash game, well, ever. I can't find any flaws in this game - that alone should tell you how good it is. And, if you needed just that extra push to buy a Nintendo Switch, I’d like to mention that this isn’t just the best Smash Bros. game in recorded history, but it’s also portable. That's right - you can play it anywhere. Spend a little money for online play, and you'll never get anything done with your life. It'll be the best problem you ever had.

The Positives: + Fantastic visuals that run at a darn-near bulletproof frame rate + An immensely deep, varied roster of playable characters to choose from + As is series tradition, a wide variety of settings to cater to however you would like to play + The ability to configure your control layout, which is far too rare for a Nintendo developed/published game + Outstanding, huge soundtrack + While not perfect, a better single player mode than the last Smash The Drawbacks: - As a result of bringing back darn near every stage, there's very few new ones - Input buffering occasionally leads to some frustration - The AI on the highest settings is simply infuriating Overview: For most players, this really is the ultimate Smash Bros. game. A huge roster that is actually far more balanced than it has any right to be, tons of stages to play on, an outstanding soundtrack, and really I could go on but I'm not. If you have even the remotest interest in playing this, do it!

I purchased this game long ago and still playing it. It is my favorite! Amazing for playing with family and friends. I do not like the spirits for multiplayer games but love the challenge that they become in history mode, you will not be bored alone. A classic game that has evolved but mantain it escense and primary characters!

A must have game for anyone with a Switch! Pro, casual, whatever, don't care. Being the fifth iteration of "my favorite Nintendo character can beat up your favorite Nintendo character," Smash Ultimate hosts a massive roster of more than 75 fighters, including every fighter from every previous title. There is also an abundant selection of stages, with over 100, and each with two other variants, for countless hours of gameplay and playstyles. There's even a dedicated training stage! The control scheme is easy to pick up, and is a challenge to master, as each fighter carries a different playstyle. Prefer swords? Guns? Magic? Props? Or even plain fists-and-feet? There's a fighter for that. Aerial vs ground. Counters vs reflects. Projectiles vs close-quarters. Endless combinations of battles. And an option to save replays after a fight to top all that off. Customization options are top-notch! You can create and save entire rulesets, and pick which music plays on which stage of that respective series. You can even choose for one stage to morph into another! And let's not forget its adventure mode. Collect and create teams of "spirits" as you go about awakening fighters whose souls have been blasted away by intense beams of light. The symbolism there is easy to get hooked on, in a "this fighter is represented by this spirit" sort of way. Rating 10/10 outside of Online Mode, which separately gets a 7.5 out of 10, as it still needs working on. For instance, there isn't an option to switch fighters without leaving a room. All in all, SMAAAAAASH! If you don't already have a copy, get yours now and be amazed!

This game stands up to the title of Ultimate. It includes every character ever featured in Smash Bros. and returns to the speeds and gameplay style that made Smash Bros. Melee my favorite Smash game for years. I wish the single player Adventure mode had a little more story like Brawl's Subspace Emissary, but let's be honest, the only real reason to pick up a Smash Bros. game is to ruin friendships in multiplayer mode haha.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a gamer's dream. It is an unrivaled celebration of gaming history. 74 of the greatest video game characters collide in this insanely fun fighting game. Fun for both beginners and masters alike, Smash Ultimate is a true gem. Masahiro Sakurai (and his team) poured his heart and soul into making this the best Smash Bros. yet. Every character from the series returns with countless newcomers such as Inkling, Ridley and Simon Belmont. Few games have such attention to detail as this one as every character and stage is lovingly recreated with an homage to video game history. There are 103 stages, and each one comes with a Final Destination and Battlefield form. The characters animate beautifully and show off their diverse and vibrant personalities. The single player content is fun and meaty. Though I must say, it's better in short bursts. The bulk of the time spent playing this game is multiplayer. And it is near perfection. No game is more fun to play with friends. I also must say, the AI in this game is fantastic. Even if you don't have people to play with, the level 9 CPUs are intelligent enough to play like a real human. The online is not perfect, but my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Smash Ultimate shows a level of polish that is rare these days. The game is endlessly replayable and fun. You can easily play hundreds or even thousands of hours. Not to mention the DLC Fighters Pass will bring new characters such as Joker from Persona 5. If you love video games, you owe it to yourself to give this game a shot.

I generally enjoy the Smash game series, the fighting mechanics are very enjoyable. I was worried that I wouldn't get much playtime out of this as a mainly solo player but that is, in fact, incorrect. I'd say that as long as you like the core of the game, there is enough single player content to keep you entertained for several hours on end. There is even more enjoyment to be had if you have multiple people to play with.

This is a Christmas gift for my son. This was so I don’t have to buy Nintendo 64 used games.
