This game absolutely saved me from the long round-trip flight time to LA to Chicago. The graphics and processing speed alone were amazing! I was incredibly surprised that I unlock my favorite character Ryu from Street Fighter.

Was an incentive purchase for my young son. Figured he was just getting something instead of leaving with nothing. Turns out he actually knew a little about the game and soon had me competing with and against him thanks to the team up, battle royale play, and ability to unlock classic Nintendo favoritess as playable characters. Definitely a fun game adults can bond with kids over.

Great game with lots to explore for completionists (specifically, spirits). The game comes with 70+ characters and a lot of Stages, so normal smash mode can incorporate a lot of variables. The physics of the game is somewhat like melee (which still has tournaments), but certain restrictions (such as bit being able to move when shooting specific items) have been lifted. There's also a techniques section which lacks some details but explains advances techniques adequately (such as short hop, meteor smash, etc). Nintendo added a "spirits" system which adds some complexity to the story mode, but not many people touch the spirits outside of story mode. Currently, it has 1300+ spirits, where the story mode gets you About half that number. A lot of work is necessary for completing the spirits.

A Must Own for the Switch

I've been playing the SSB franchise since the beginning. Every game is getting better and better. I missed the single player campaign that was skipped on the Wii U/3Ds, but the World of Light makes playing by yourself a ton of fun. Game-play mechanics haven't changed much, so it's easy for vets and newcomers to pick up and learn. The roster for the game is larger than its ever been, while also bringing back some familiar faces, Roy from FE and Pichu and Mewtwo from Pokemon. The maps are fun and interactive. Overall, the best Smash Bros title to release. The ONLY issue I have is I've seen multiple occasions of where playing in Classic/All Star mode as Piranha Plant (A DLC character) will wipe the data of the game and make you COMPLETELY start over. Hopefully Nintendo can get this fixed soon!

Another franchise that I was never really into but I have always heard about it and have enjoyed watching others play this since first appearing on the N64. Looking forward to getting owned.

What could I say that has not been said about this game already? It's fun, it's PACKED with content, it's got the largest roster of characters and arenas of all Smash games, the controls are superb, the music is AMAZING, the "Story" mode is fun, challenging, and super entertaining, and getting the DLC characters (although raises the price of the game by a LOT) is worth it! There are just so many wonderful characters to pick now. I recommend it to anyone that can enjoy this type of party/fighting game, but serious fighting game players... not so much.

More Smash than before and the visuals are great. Gameplay modes are full of fun features that keep things interesting. The roster of fighters is impressive and feels pretty well balanced. No doubt, a top title for the Switch.

It is a game you can play for many years with your friends or just by yourself. I have smash bros from 3DS. This one can play on TV and big screen, can't miss it.

Awesome cast of characters, levels are fun and it's good looking. Can get very hectic with 4 players, full items and moving levels and at times I lose track of where I'm at. Single player is very fun, classic mode is great for N64 fans like me. Spirit mode is ok, but a little motonous. Online play was a bit of a letdown at launch, but it seems fixes are slowly coming. Patch notes are very vague and don't do a great job explaining changes. I get the feeling that developers did not realize Online would be the main thing people were wanting and did not build around that mode. I think gamers have come to expect an online experience core with single player secondary but you get the opposite with this game. I hope changes continue to come out to make online play the robust experience it should be.

    - It’s a solid game with intuitive rules. It’s easy to jump in, as a party game, and it can support eight people playing at once. You can tell someone how to play in about a minute, and they can immediately feel like they’re doing something. You don’t have to explain the inputs for a fireball before Bowser can breathe fire. - Fanservice. Nintendo has a lot of fans, and those fans have a lot of emotional investment in Link and Pikachu. Smashing people with your favorite character is entirely equivalent to owning an action figure of that character and fighting them against other action figures. Great game to play together with family and friends, online or offline.

I had an exorbitant amount of joy relishing in this expansive library. All these iconic Nintendo and non-Nintendo characters are all at their full capacity in skill set. A must-buy for all longing for an all out brawl.

    Best Smash Yet

I've been playing Super Smash Bros. since the first one on N64 and this is the best yet. True, online play is a bit laggy, and there's not a robust of a museum section and there's not a ton of guidance or instructional training, but obviously, none of those things mattered too much. The fact that I was even able to get on and play with my friends was so much fun. The single-player mode is reminiscent of a well developed mobile game - i.e. way more robust than any previous single-player modes. It's everything you love about smash, with every character you could want and then some, plus a bunch of new elements, items, a huge number of stages, and a single player you could spend hours on alone. All of this considering they'll likely release DLCs and patches to add more and make things even better.

I really enjoy the nostalgia that smash games always bring. This is a significant improvement from the past few games. I eventually plan to get a Gamecube controller, but the pro controller is great and works very well in this game.

Like fighting games? Like Nintendo characters? Have you been living under a rack and never heard of Smash Brothers? What can I say about this game that basically hasn’t been said. It’s a fantastically fun time playing as many of the characters you have come to know and love over the years. Use Zelda and beat up Gannon, or bowser, Mario, peach, ect. They added 6 DLC sightseers with pass one...and have plans for 6 more with pass 2 over the next year. They just keep giving you more options on who to fight with. You can play up to 8 players sitting in your couch ( if you have that many controllers) or play online vs any number of opponents too! Great game, tons of fun. Just buy it already!

This is the first game I purchased for my Nintendo Switch OLED. The colors on this game are amazing. This game also doesn't get boring because you can play with up to 8 friends, online, and even against a computer opponent. I have been playing this game non-stop since I bought it and I don't regret purchasing it.

After recently getting into Nick All-Star Brawl (which was a nice introduction into the platform fighter genre). I just needed to see what the game it took inspiration from was all about. And I gotta say, this is a pretty good crossover game, with lots of gameplay modes & replayability! And a pretty good story mode to boot...probably not as good as Brawl's story mode, but still good regardless! Seeing Kirby, Sonic & even Banjo-Kazooie in the same game is like a dream come true! And I can't recommend it enough, especially with the 2-player aspect!
