I'm going to get the flaws out of the way first since almost all the other reviews already talk about how amazing the game is (which it is). The online, input lag (for competitive players), and world of light (subjective). Online matchmaking has gotten better from release date but is still far from perfect, games can be laggy (advisable to play via Lan) and the ranking system (GSP) is bad. The ranking system doesn't show you where you are at since it ranks you via where you are at from all the players in the game (few points to more points that higher you are) meaning you can't tell where you are at plus other problems that you should investigate further). For matchmaking ometimes if you are looking for a 1v1, you get a free for all or if you are looking for a team battle, the same thing can happen. I also wish there was a stage select since that means if you want a 100 percent chance to get a competitive battle, you will need to choose battlefield or final destination because if you don't, the stages get picked randomly and you might get a huge stage where somebody could camp you out. Input lag is 100ms although pro controller and gamecube controller lag are negligible so use whichever one you want. Finally, world of light can be repetitive and grindy since you're just battling characters with special smash settings (although the references are cool). Positives however make up for more than enough of the games faults. Gameplay is amazing being fast and fluid compared to the predecessor. Old air dodge mechanic from melee is back meaning you can actually go offstage now and really punish players and the roster is amazing almost all characters being balanced in the debut of the game almost all of them with different and fun playstyles. Lots of cool and diverse stages. Finally, the soundtrack is phenomenal. Smash encompasses easy to get into, hard to master so anybody can have a good time. Newcomers should not be intimidated and the community is amazing and helpful. Definitely recommend this game.

Son is beating the snot out of me lol. The joy cons are small. Good family fun. Makes me want to buy my own switch and unlock all characters to get my title as video game champ back. Just buy. It’s great even for the none gamer.

Great game, if you love the series you will enjoy this version. I'm a sucker for mobile gaming so i waited a long time to play this on the switch! The 3DS version doesnt count...it was NOT that good compared to the WiiU version.

The design team really did a fantastic job on this latest version of SSB. Online play can be laggy but I blame Nintendo for sleeping on the job when it comes to anything online. Great game and you can’t go wrong with this one.

This is one the best if not, the best Super Smash Bros. games ever. I love this game so much. This has to be my favorite Smash Bros game so far. I love this because of the characters, obviously. Most of my favorite video game franchises has come together. Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon, Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy, and Banjo Kazooie.

My family and I are casuals with Smash but we are having so much fun with it. Unlocking the characters is exciting and I enjoy the one player mode as well. This game is like a love letter to all gamers and should not be missed.

One of my favorite games, had to pick up a 2nd copy for a friend on sale! Even without the DLC, the game is fully worth it at $60 MSRP, and I can't wait for Sora!

One of the best games for switch I've ever bought from them.

Sakurai has impressed us greatly yet again. Tons of characters to choose from a plethora of beloved franchises with countless visually appealing stages and amazing music tracks. Better yet, the game is being expanded evermore with DLC and official support possibly for many years to come, with this game being the definitive installment in the entire franchise. Online multiplayer could be free and of higher fidelity. Story mode is a nice step up from the awkward platforming of Brawl's Subspace Emissary. Characters could be more balanced, but continuous updates obviously fix this without the need to produce any more separate games. Otherwise, wonderful!

Comming from fighters such as SF seried, KOF and MK I was a bit skeptic... but oh boy I was wrong! What it looks simple on the surface it has lots of things to unpack without sacrifying the fun factor. :)

Instant nostalgia overload, haven't played a smash since n64. I was hesitant to purchase because I don't play many fighting games or online games anymore, but the amount of single player content with world of light is amazing.

The game that helped us get though Covid. It was a great way to vond with my step son and learn how much my favorite games have aged and by proxy ... me lol. Great fun!

Bought this for a Christmas gift, so haven't actually used it yet, but it came highly recommended and well-reviewed, so I hope it lives up to expectations.

Very little I can say about this game that isn't well know to this date, World of Light can last about 35 hours in hard more to complete at 100%, there are a few missing things, like brake the targets and home run contest.

It's Smash, if you're looking at it, it's cause you know what it is and you're gonna buy it for a reason. I suck at it, but I got lots of free time and friends to play with.

What can I say that hasn't been said before? It's a fantastic and very well made game. It's a ton of fun whether you play alone or with a bunch of friends, as the single player campaign gives you a ton of challenges to go through in what can be best described as a very light RPG. You start with Kirby and make your way through the map, fighting characters customized to represent a ton of different video game characters. Other than that, the music is amazing, there's lots of fighters to choose from, the game plays smoothly and the AI is pretty smart this time around. Online has some issues, but it's still a great game to play with others, either locally or online. Definitely a must have for most Switch owners! Would recommend to anyone who has an interest in Smash,

Game lived up to all its hype. Outstanding for Mario fans! Pre-order at Best Buy was outstanding. The order was ready for pickup when the store opened on the debut day of the game. No waiting in line or fighting the crowds.
