Great Console as a secondary or primary switch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you don’t have a switch or if you have a friend or wife like me that wants to okay Pokémon or mariokart or really anything. This is the best one to get. It’s small and feels great in the hands as well as playing any switch game with ease. It charges fast and has a battery life of about 3-4 hours. It’s better to get the original switch if you wanna play on the tv but if you just want a mobile great console this is the best of the best!

Great Portable System! However...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Full disclosure: I already have a Nintendo Switch (second generation) and I love the system. The Nintendo Switch Lite is meant to address some portability issues I had with the original, which is why I decided to give it a go. First things first: Portability. The original Switch always felt pretty good in my hands. However, it was always a bit cumbersome to handle sometimes and I would not play for extended periods. The detachable controllers are nice, but they feel a bit too loose and clunky. I have small hands, so I tended to feel uncomfortable while grabbing the unit, which now feels like a tablet. I hardly ever used the screen touch feature, especially since holding it on one hand feels unbalanced. So, upon handling the Switch Lite for the first time, I really was surprised as to how light and small the system is. I must say that it does kind of feel like a toy. I am actually able to put it in my pants’ pockets most of the time. I picked the gray/white system which looks a bit less “flashy” and fits my style. It has a matte finish that seems to be fingerprint-resistant. The unit features one solid body with the controls a bit more congested. However, this to me proved much more convenient. The shoulder buttons feel just like the original, but I can cover them easier. The action buttons are a tad “springier” and the replacement of the directional action buttons for an actual D-pad was gold. The screen is great, being perhaps a bit brighter (or bluish?). While the resolution is the same (720P undocked), it seems sharper because of the smaller screen, making a higher PPI (pixels per inch) display. Every game I tried looks gorgeous and plays just as expected. The battery life is about 3-4 hours depending on what game you are playing, the screen brightness and if you are connected to WIFI. It’s worth mentioning that the Lite does not have rumble features. So, the big question is: If I already have an Original Switch, should I get this one in addition, replacement or skip entirely? This is a complicated question and really depends on your gaming habits. If you play games on the go, on the couch or when in bed most of the time and do not own a Switch, I highly suggest considering the Lite, you would love it. If you would like to play titles on the TV, even every once in a while, I would recommend reconsidering, since the Lite does not have the “switch” feature and cannot be docked. If you play co-op or party games, then the Lite is not for you. While you could use wireless controllers in addition to the unit’s, the screen is so small that everyone must be within a couple of feet to see it and the Lite does not have a kickstand. Actually, several games do not work well or at all on this unit. I had a horrible time playing some puzzles in Breath of the Wild that involved motion controls. In the end, I must admit that the Lite has become the go-to console for me -and I have all, including a high-end PC. I usually play on the couch when watching a TV show or while on YouTube, when I’m at lunch at work or simply right before I go to sleep (not sure how healthy this is but…). One big gripe I do have is that I wish they had included Bluetooth compatibility since I mostly use wireless headsets. I mean, even the PSP had it. I do have a dongle, but it adds to the form factor of the unit. So, I guess it worked for me and I am very happy with it. Full console experiences in the palm of your hand? Yes, please! But honestly, it can be a bit hard to justify buying it if you have the original Switch, or worse, if you have the newer version (much longer battery life). I’d say just go try it; hold it in your hands and visualize your experience with it.

Affordable and Fun: The Perfect Portable Gaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch Lite in Turquoise is a fantastic handheld gaming console that’s perfect for gaming on the go. Its lightweight design and comfortable grip make it easy to use for extended periods, and the vibrant turquoise color stands out. While it doesn’t support TV docking or have detachable Joy-Cons, it’s ideal for anyone who prefers handheld gaming. The 32GB storage is a bit limited, but adding a microSD card solves that issue. Overall, it’s a solid, affordable option for portable gaming.

Great product

I prefer the Lite over the regular Switch!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My brother has a regular Switch and I have always wanted to get one, but I didn’t want to spend so much money on a system for my TV when I already have a PS4. When I heard Animal Crossing New Horizons was coming, I started researching the Switch to find one I would like. When I stumbled upon the Lite, I wasn’t sure if I would like it, but I actually prefer it over the regular Switch. I like that I don’t have to worry about the controllers or having an extra port I have to keep to charge it and the controllers. And the nostalgia I get from having the Lite is insane. It’s like playing an oversized Gameboy Advanced and I love it. I also found that most games are easier to play on the Lite because you don’t have two separate controllers with drift or any of the unnecessary hard motor skills movements you have to do with them, and personally I like playing games solo. The Lite was definitely the best choice for me. I only have Skyrim and Animal Crossing and I’ve put over 200+ hours into them combined. I would recommend the Lite to anyone who wants to save some money and doesn’t mind only playing handheld. That’s really the only difference.

Got it for the kids
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s still fairly portable, the cartridges are very small so they can easily fall in a crack. You will need to buy a SD card as it doesn’t come with one.

Great mobile Switch with same odd joysticks
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoy the full version of the Switch when displayed on the TV. I won't bother discussing the games and the FPS values on a 4K screen; those reviews can be found elsewhere. Instead, I want to discuss how the Switch Lite addresses one issue I have had with the Switch, which is taking it out of the dock and playing with the built-in screen. First, when undocked, the Switch feels a little wobbly. The Joy-Cons lock into place, but there is a sense of instability that bothers me. Second, the Switch and Joy-Cons together are heavy. In my opinion, too heavy even to be able to wear out a battery charge before wearing out my hands. Finally, the sticks on all Joy-Cons are just weird. They are so short that I find I have to adjust the sensitivity up quite a bit to feel like I am capable of playing anything. If I do not, I push on the sticks so hard that I wear out my fingers quickly. The Switch Lite, on the other hand, addresses two of the three concerns. First, the whole unit feels very solid. It feels nice in the hand and has a consistency that works. The instability of the Switch is gone. Second, the Switch Lite is really light! Compared to the Switch, the Lite is like holding air. I can play this for a couple of hours and forget about it. I've enjoyed that quite a bit. The joysticks, however...are still the same, and I don't care for them as much as I could. I can get used to them, as I have, but it is jarring and takes me out of games sometimes. The Lite can support external controllers like the Pro (which is great, by the way), so I may use that, but it does seem to make the fact that the Lite is a portable console a bit irrelevant. I was curious about how the smaller screen on the Switch Lite would affect gameplay vs. the Switch, but I haven't really noticed a difference. Looking between the two, the difference is very noticeable, but in use, I haven't felt like I'm missing anything. In summary, I am very pleased with the Switch Lite. At this point, there are now three in the house, which should be an endorsement. The feeling of stability is welcome along with a lighter form factor. The joysticks are my only issue, and I didn't actually expect that they would change, so I was not disappointed in that regard. I recommend the Switch Lite for sure!
