Q: Can you use this without the switch console?
A: Yes, it is a smaller version of the switch so it's an independent console
Q: Is the screen on the Switch Lite the same size as the Nintendo DS?
A: The Nintendo DS Lite has a screen size of 3.12 inches for the top screen with a resolution of 256x192. The Switch Lite has a screen size of 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1280x720.
Q: Can you share your Game data between a Switch and Switch Lite?
A: Basically you go in settings for both and choose one to send and the other to receive. So it has to be on one system at a time. Otherwise you have to pay for Nintendo Online to have Cloud saves.
Q: Will geek squad repair Nintendo switch game slot pings are bent?
A: Yes, if you buy the Geek Squad warranty they will cover all damage, including bent game slot pins. That being said, I have used my switch for well over 2 years now and have never had any issues with the card reader pins (I buy all my games physical as well, so the game slot gets plenty of use).
A: Depends on what the games are rated ? How comfortable are you giving a ____ year old a 200$ device?
Q: Can the Nintendo switch be connected to the television to play games on ?
A: Unfortunately the Switch lite does not allow docking to the television. For that you may want to consider the full sized Nintendo Switch console.
Q: Does the online subscription work with the Switch Lite?
A: Yes it does!
A: Whichever system you choose to set as your "primary" unit, the other(s) which have your user profile on them as well will need to connect to the internet to see if the title can be played (meaning, it is only being played on one unit). My advice would be to set your Lite as the primary and a docked Switch as the secondary since the docked Switch at home should always have internet access. If the travel one has to check online to see if the title can be played, you will need to connect to a wifi hotspot to allow this. As for gave saves, if you have Nintendo Online, all game saves are uploaded to the cloud (for games that are compatible with this. The upcoming Pokemon Sword/Shield for instance will not allow cloud saves). Once you decide to use the other system, go to data management, save data cloud and then download the latest save data to that console. For games which don't allow cloud saves, you need to have both systems next to each other and do a manual data transfer from one to the other.

I already own an OG Switch, but with Nintendo's decision to only allow one island per console for the upcoming Animal Crossing title, they were able to squeeze out a little extra money from me. I was on the fence about the Lite, but ultimately decided the turquoise version was the way to go. Transferring my save data and downloaded games were an easy enough process. Plus I'm still able to play on my original Switch, so there's no issues with swapping gameplay between the two. Battery life certainly seems better, but I tend to keep my system plugged in at all times, so it's a bit of a moot point with me. Graphically I think games look better on the Lite than in handheld mode on the full-size Switch, which is definitely a plus. The only potential downside is if it ever gets joycon drift, since I'd have to send in the whole system. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen, lol. All in all, I'd say the Lite is definitely worth picking up...but I'd treat it more as a secondary system; I still rate the "big brother" Switch as the best one to buy.

I bought the switch lite for my nephew to introduce him into the gaming world. I figured this specific switch would be great for a little kid since the controllers don’t detach. (We know how kids can be) and so far it’s still his favorite gift. I highly recommend the switch lite for anyone wanting to buy their child’s first gaming system.

The system is great for those on the go that want the better battery life and great games. I’ve got a launch console and purchased this with the intent of keeping this as the “primary” console and my original one as my home console. In case you’re wondering the differences are as follows: -screen and console are smaller in size and weight -battery is longer lasting -joy-cons aren’t detachable, they’re built into the system, which means no HD rumble, no IR sensor either -no kickstand -not able to be docked, this is a portable only system, but it runs the entire switch library as long as it doesn’t require the system to be docked -$100 cheaper That said, if this is a travel only supplement or you never play your system docked, this is the Switch for you. If you need the “switch” part of the switch, and want the freedom to detach the controllers and play the game on a tv, then buy the larger version (just make sure it’s the all red box version as that’s the one with the new battery and more efficient chipset like the lite).
