The replacement unit however did work as expected. Just needed for a spare room, fits the need, best price we found for similar. Hopefully it will last a little while with occasional use.

Decent basic player

Decent remote with all the controls you would expect, However, the player would not play one particular DVD, which is why I am only giving it three stars. This same DVD plays fine in my laptop DVD player. I then cleaned the DVD with the recommended method. It started to play, and then stopped again. This player must be more sensitive to scratches than my other players.
