TLOU Remastered
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When The Last of Us was released on PS3, it received overwhelmingly positive reviews and was praised for both it's story and overall gameplay. When the remaster was announced, people we skeptical of re-releasing a game that had only recently come out. This new version featured higher frame rates, improved gameplay and was absolutely worth buying again. The story follows Joel and Ellie as they cross a disaster-ridden United States to help fight back against the disease that had consumed so many. There are some very emotional points within the story and you cannot help but feel the emotions the characters are going through. Along the way, you'll encounter all sorts of different characters, both good and bad, and pick up and modify weapons to help you with your journey. The weapon choices are vast and you can generally run with your preferred weapon, so long as you're able to find ammo along the way. TLOU is a fantastic remastered game and, in my opinion, still is one of the top games available on the PS4 despite it's few-year-old age and with all the other titles that have been released subsequently. Highly recommended.

The Best Game for Playstation 4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Playstation 4 solely for this game. This version takes the ps3 version and makes it better in every way. The download is pretty big but it includes all of the downloadable content, story and maps. If you have never played the ps3 version then this is an absolute must buy. The game plays great at a third person perspective and everything from the player movement and background interaction is top notch, with great voice acting by Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson. The story will get you attached to these characters and you will feel the pain and joy they go through. The most surprising thing about this game is how great the multiplayer is. I've played everything from Gears of War,Halo to Call of Duty and this is by far my favorite online experience. There is no hero mode where one person can glitch and just dominate an entire team. You have to work as a team and if you dont your team will lose. There is no huge advantage that the other team will have and thats what makes the online so fun. This game is well worth the Game of the Year nominations and rewards it has recieved.

A Masterpiece of the Art
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had missed the original PS3 release of TLOU and was on the verge of actually getting it when I heard the Remastered edition was on its way. I spent the last week playing through the game and wanted to wait until I had fully completed it to actually put together a review. I was 'introduced' to Naughty Dog from the first Uncharted game. I played each of the three as they were released and was hooked from the beginning. From that perspective I was very familiar with the quality that Naughty Dog holds itself to and the level of cinematic polish that they bring to their games. That being said I expected TLOU to be held to those same standards and was a little leery at all the praise this game got. The comments people made about it made me think that perhaps they haven't played any Uncharted game and weren't aware of the style of Naughty Dog, which that in itself puts them held and shoulders above the competition. Ultimately I walked into this game hoping that I wouldn't be on the bandwagon and that I would find something not to like about the game. On one hand I was right, but on the other I couldn't help but fall in love with it. As the credits rolled by on the game I was convinced that TLOU was the best game I have ever played... but it wasn't the most enjoyable. If that seems contradictory I will explain further. It excels at telling a remarkable human story in an apocalyptic time with emotion and storytelling surpassing that of movies. The acting is impeccable and the motion capture is pristine. I truly wish the Academy Awards would introduce a category for video game motion capture and voice acting because this was something magical. While not wholly original - some of the motifs have been well used in standard zombie apocalypse settings (although to be fair Naughty Dog put an interesting twist on 'zombies') - it offered a level of emotion that takes 15-20 hours to establish that cinema just can't. Ellie (the 13 year old girl) is voiced by a 30 year actress but you'd be hard pressed to actually believe that while listening to her in the game. She's a foul-mouthed firecracker who, psychologically for me at least, I was glad to know wasn't actually voiced by 13 year old. I have no desire to spoil any of the storyline for you, and if you're like me, you somehow were completely able to avoid spoilers and it pays off. Leaving that behind I want to touch on gameplay. For those familiar with the Uncharted franchise I need to stress that this is light-years ahead of the gameplay mechanics that I have felt have always stunted the Uncharted games. But... it still wasn't quite there. You essentially have 3 zombie enemies and maybe 4 human enemies that you shoot, slice, stab, bludgeon, blowup, set ablaze, or just sneak by hundreds of time. The variation is lacking. Stealth components are a little iffy, especially near the beginning of the game. It brought me back to thinking of games like Metal Gear or Splinter Cell, and I feel they had a firmer handle on stealth than this did. It's not terrible, but at times it takes you out of the action and makes you think, "Seriously? The guy didn't hear me stabbing his buddy two feet away just because his back was turned to me?" Outside of that, the game has a great progression of guns/weapons that you're still unlocking right up to the last level. It has a very survival/horror feeling to it so you will ALWAYS be scrounging for ammo and supplies. If you're not a fan or a regenerative health - then you are in luck! Every health bar needs to be refilled by a med kit which you need to take the time in game to craft and then apply. Every now and then there will be a canned fruit that will give you some health back, but those are few and far between. I enjoy games like Resident Evil so I found this mechanic very fun and preserved the feeling that this wasn't a video game but something more real. The skill upgrade tree is great - it's not XP based, you need to collect 'pills' throughout the game. So essentially you could make it through the entire game without ever upgrading your skills. Same goes for weapons - you need to find scrap material, but you also need to find up to 5 tool kits which allow you to upgrade your weapons to varying degrees. I found this very fun and a slight deviation from normal. The settings are picturesque and it's evident a lot of love and care went into them. I don't often get supplemental material for games but I will be picking up the Art of TLOU book to keep around. I'm a sucker for video game soundtracks and this is no exception. The haunting guitar of Gustavo Santaolalla fits perfectly and like many modern game blockbusters, is on par, if not better than movie scores. I need to stress I fell in love in with this game as it went on. If the game lacked the acting and polished motion capture, then it would be a different story. The gameplay isn't enough to save the game by itself, no matter how beautiful and varied. It would have just gone down as a 'good' game instead of an amazing one. But I came to the conclusion that it was the single best game I have played. Not the most enjoyable or fun, but the best. If you're 16 and looking forward to the next CoD for frag fests - keep moving. If you're mature enough to want a game that stretches the boundaries of video games then this is your game. I'm 25 and have been playing games since birth. I've grown up in this trend of maturing games and found this to match what any other mature media genre can do in regards to storytelling, without the need for "Adult" themes that plague other games like Grand Theft Auto (Best Buy wouldn't let me type what I originally wrote... so "Adult" will suffice). Language is strong, but nothing we don't hear in other places (or online play). It's suitable enough for teens who aren't bothered by gore, violence, and language, but probably will resonate more with those of age to have children of their own.

What's left to say
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This amazing gaming experience has had its fair share of nay-sayers, but with so much acclaim it seems like a difficult task to stand up to the spotlight. But this Remastered edition does just that. It took what was already the (arguably) best-looking game on last-gen and made it one of the best-looking games of this new console generation. It remains one of the best told stories in the history of video game stories. Characters and pacing and mood and dialogue... You can read about it from better writers than myself. Some people have said that it is slow at first, but then picks up after a couple hours. I don't know about that. I was hooked on this game from the opening segment. The first 30 minutes gives you some small indication about what to expect from the mood and pacing of the rest of the game.

Great Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll be honest. I bought an Xbox one at launch, and just barley bought a PlayStation 4 this past Christmas. The only games I own for PlayStation 4 are the exclusive games for that system. With that being said I only own 6 plus this game now. I would have to say I was beginning to regret my purchase. But after buying this game I'm more content now. You must keep in mind that this is a PlayStation 3 game with some upgrades. So while it won't show off what the PlayStation is capable of, its still a nice looking game. But its the story and gameplay that will get you hooked. It will start off a little slower, but once you start getting more weapons and upgrading things then it really starts to show how good of a game it truly is. Highly recommend this game.

Absolutely a must-play!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im not going to make you read a novel to findout my views, but if you care to get multiple opinions just google "The Last of Us Reviews/PS4" and you will see that this game was voted the "Best of" for the last gen consoles and has now been remastered with beautiful graphics and 60fps and it looks absolutely stunning on the PS4. Naughty Dog has really done it again with yet another immersive story driven game that is sure to leave a life-long lasting impression and will certainly be one of the first titles mentioned in the G.O.A.T arguments. I rarely, if ever call a game perfect, but i cant possibly say this game is anything less then a perfect 10 out of 10.. Casual or Hardcore gamers alike will not be disappointed, pick it up ASAP!! trust me on this guys.

The best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is probably one of the best games ever made. While it starts off a little slow, it eventually picks up after you meet up with Ellie. The story is the best part of the game, it's like an emotional roller coaster, and this is coming from a guy that doesn't pay attention to the story in almost any game ever played. I've beaten this game maybe 8 times because it's so good. If you have a PS4 (or even PS3), this game is a must have. You can believe the few negative reviews if you want, but you're better off reading the top of the case where it says: "Over 200 game of the year awards". Those awards are for a good reason.

This game is worth every penny invested. I love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is easily by far one of the best games ever invented. I originally bought it for the PS3 and I was very impressed by the visuals and the game play. The dialog and the voice acting is phenomenal, I enjoyed every moment of this masterpiece of a game. Its almost as it were a lifelike movie. And now its coming on a better system PS4 with upgraded graphics and the full potential of the power of the PS4. I just pre ordered. Its your into great story with a heavy emotional experience and lots of action you don't wanna miss out on this. This game deserved all the rave reviews from the masses along with being game of the year of 2013.

Worth every penny!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't believe I have waited this long to finally play this game! This game has some of the best story telling that I have ever played, where there were times I got a little emotional at parts. The combat in the game is great, but you have to play smart in some situations. So,running and gunning won't get you very far in this game. Fair warning for any parents looking into getting this for their children. This does have a lot of cursing and the violence/situation can get a little bad. But for the price it's at, I think this is a steal and worth playing through!

Great Game at a Great Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With this game now being only 19.99 and 20% less with Gamers Club Unlocked it is a steal. As someone who has played video games since the 80's this is in my top 10 games of all-time. What surprised me the most was the story! This is made by Naughty Dog the same company that makes the Uncharted series but it has it's own identity and gameplay style. The updated graphics for the PS4 and all the DLC as part of the package it is such a great value for 25+ hours of gameplay. This is not really a story about zombies or those infected it is a survival story and great one at that.

A great game made nearly perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Story = 10+ Acting = 10 Graphics = 10+ Gameplay = 8.5 Atmosphere = 10 If you're looking for a game to just have a good time in a lighthearted romp, then you are looking at the wrong game. However, if you are looking for a game experience that will stick with you for years and cause you to actually evaluate your own life then look no further. This is not another typical zombie game, this is about the adventure and relationship between the main characters that will take you for a ride like no game before it ever has.

One of 2013's best just got better.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the event that you didn't already play this on the PS3, then you're in for quite a treat. Not only are you signing up for some of the best graphics on the market, but you're getting a phenomenal story, tense third-person gameplay and extremely competitive tactical multiplayer. For those who have already played this on PS3, you're not missing out on much aside from the upgraded textures and 60fps. If you loved it before, you'll love it now and should pick it up again. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

An EXCELLENT GAME
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you owned a PS3 and never owned or played this game, there is something wrong! If you are a gamer that wants a game that looks great, plays suburb, fantastic story line, Oscar winning performances, and just everything, The Last of Us is the game! This game was one of THE main reasons I got a PS3. Then when I heard that they were remastering it for the PS4, I was giddy with joy. You better believe I am buying this, again, for the PS4 to experience this great game! A MUST OWN!

Great Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just finished The Last of Us and I loved it. In the beginning its pretty freaky, once you get used to it then it tones down. I think the story was well written and kept me going. I think how this game ends is up for debate on whether you think the ending was great. To me is was an ok way to end. I won't go into details, once you play and finish the game you can decide for yourself. Listening to all the conversations throughout the game makes a big difference so try not to get distracted while playing. The remastered edition looks great, but i felt like tomb raider definitive edition looked much better throughout. Don't get me wrong still a beautiful game to be a part of the 1st full year of next gen consoles. You will not be disappointed if you haven't played on PS3 before. Naughty Dog is on a roll and hopefully they can keep it going for years to come

Do You Even Need to Read Another Review?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has literally received universally great reviews (100% on Metacritic in fact). It may in fact be the greatest game ever made because of this. If that's not enough (I don't know why that would not be, honestly) then take my word for it. This game more than lives up to the hype. With A story that is equally compelling as it is heart wrenching and great game play to match it, this game isn't just spectacular; it is ART at its purist.

Absolutely FANTASTIC Game!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Look at most any review out on the internet if you do not believe me. This game is almost universally acclaimed as being excellent. IT tells an amazingly dark and adult story while keeping a child as a main character. Action is great, music is outstanding, plot is the best. Just go pick this game up now if you have not already! It also includes the Left Behind DLC which is another 2 hours of story exposition. Good value!

Online Multiplayer makes this game even better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The single player campaign story is great on this game, but what puts it way above other games is the amazing multiplayer experience. The MP is extremely fun. It is teams of 4 on 4 and rewards team play and stealth. Gathering supplies is crucial and health and lives are limited creating a more strategic, tactical gameplay. I am normally a casual game player, but have played the MP Last of Us non-stop for the last 3 months!

Greatest game of our time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No overstating in the title. This is by far the best game I have played in recent history. For the current generation of games, it is for me, hands down the best. Unbelievable story, characters, graphics, sound, music, everything. I played through this multiple times on PS3 and it's even better on PS4. If you haven't played it before, get it. If you don't have a PS, get one just for this game. It's worth it.
