I remember watching tons of game reviews about how excellent this game is. Once I purchased a PS4 what game did you think was on my list? You guess it The Last of Us Remaster. This game has anything a gamer needs memorable characters, great story, fun plot, tons of adventure & wicked action. I hope The Last of Us gets a sequel definitely a must buy.

This is a perfect example of a game that might change the mind of anyone who thinks video games have to be lesser art. I was almost moved to tears in the first several minutes of the game. The animation, voice acting, and characters are spot on. The graphics refresh looked great on a PS4 Pro, solid 60fps at 1080p. If I had a complaint it's that the controls and action gameplay seem less than crisp at times, but it's a single-player experience first and foremost, so that's fine. At the (now standard) price of $19.99 that I paid, this is a steal and a must-own for all PS4 owners.

I have purchased the original and the remastered version. I can't say that the remastered is any better, since I play on a 720p TV, but I loved the game and traded in my PS3 so getting it for the PS4 was a given for me. With the remastered version however, you get the extra DLC, which I haven't played yet, so that is a bonus. If you like third person games, with beautiful graphics, and a good story, this may be the game for you. It can be gory, and upsetting at times. I loved everything about the game except the ending, which felt a little out of place when you are forced to make a predetermined choice, rather than your own choice.

When this game came out last summer, I wasn't really into the gaming scene anymore so I had no idea Naughty Dog made this masterpiece or else I would've jumped on it. By the time I found out about The Last of Us, the PS4 was due around the corner. I figured my opportunity was lost and I might never get to play it other than buying a used PS3 copy.. But I wanted it on the PS4! Bam, it came out on the PS4. If you're like me and missed it the first time around or if you're coming from Xbox this is a must buy. Still playing the game currently, top notch remastered graphics, storyline is superb, and voice acting is on point.

The first game I bought for this platform (and probably for most) would be this game, and rightfully so. Naughty Dog did an amazing job building a game and the world it lives in that hooks the player and provides honest moments of emotion (mostly fear, but you do get those few moments of hope). The controls are pretty tight, though may be unfamiliar for many so there will be moments in the beginning during panic that the player will die (and repeatedly) until the all-important muscle memory is developed. I enjoyed this game and strongly recommend this game to anybody else that may not owned or have played it.

The game is as good as it was on the PS3. The visual and graphics enhancements for the PS4 are amazing. For those who haven't played the game, the gameplay is a bit slow. It's not a Call of Duty, Battlefield or Killzone type experience where everything is fast paced and constant action. However, the cut scenes and story are very good. I am sure this is the reason the game is being made into a movie. If you are someone who thrives on fast paced, you may not like this. I am one of those people, but I found The Last of Us to be a refreshing take on a quality game and not a rushed game (aka Battlefield 4).

This is one of those experiences that will go down in video game history as a classic example of how to do it right. The masterminds who brought us the Uncharted series have truly outdone themselves here. The story is gripping, the gameplay is intense, every bullet and every shiv counts, and it forces you to flex your brain. I'm a grown man but I cried within the first 10 minutes of this game...the story hits you in the feels that hard and that quickly. Truly an amazing experience. If you haven't played this yet, well...I envy you, you're in for a real treat.

Great game. I had a blast playing it. You can run-n-gun kill everything, stealth kill everything, or sneak past everything. The story was cool, more realistic than zombies at least. The acting made for some dramatic pulse pounding play as well. Only issues I had were the game had some glitches at 1st. Probably something to do with it being a PS3 game remastered to the PS4. Also, there are some mobs that will instakill you if they catch you. Oh, and I was done with it in like 3 days, and I wasn't even playing as much as I could have. Still worth the purchase price imo. I will keep this game forever.

I heard a few people saying that this game was pretty good. I have to agree. You do have to follow the story line but it not bad. It's not the kind of game where you can venture off too far from the dedicated path. You're not gonna fall off of a clip or anything because it won't let you. The only thing that you can really change are the weapons that you use to get through the story. I'll buy the second one, I think it was worth it.

By now I have played both titles and yet i always come back to part 1 because of its unique story of “man lost daughter and found a new one to protect”. This game has been remade 3 times already and yet I’m not even mad. It’s an amazing to replay numerous times. Naughty Dog is truly a company that knows what the people want. Except for terrible adaptations of the show, but we don’t need to discuss that

Okay, so the game isn't actually 100% perfect. But it's pretty close if I do say so myself. There's a few different stances I could take on reviewing this game, but I'm going to take one different from most people. I could talk about the story, as it is easily the shining star of games. But everybody talks about the story. Just go into this game knowing that it is the most gut wrenching, heart throbbing, touching, wonderful story that you will ever experience in your life. But what really makes this game for me is the little things. When you walk up/down stairs, your characters movements change to look like he's actually walking up stairs. When you walk by other people, the characters actually say convincing dialogue and interact with each other. When you shine your flashlight onto another person, they'll actually cover their eyes. It's awesome. That's what makes this game, is the immersion. This game is brutal. And you feel it. When Joel is defending himself, he'll smash someone's head in, or slam them against the wall. You feel the despair that he feels. You feel the hopelessness, and the extreme actions that you have to take to protect yourself, and Ellie. You know that if you make one wrong move, you won't make it. I know it's just a game, and that you'll just respawn, but that's what is so amazing about this game. It completely sucks you in. You see just how gritty, and dark, and cold that the world is, and you're just doing what you can to try and make the difference. For those that haven't played the game, the gameplay mechanics of this game are just great. You collect different crafting components throughout the game, and when you craft things it's in real time, which adds to the sense of urgency. You can't just pause the game and craft everything you want. When you stealth takedown someone, you can still be detected, which also adds to the realism. It takes about 5 seconds from when you click the stealth takedown for them to actually go down, and you have to take that into account with your timing. I really like how detection works. You don't get a detection meter like in most games, it's just this kind of ominous sound that gets stronger and louder the closer you are to being detected. It's different and I like it. You collect parts throughout the game that you can use to upgrade your weapons, to give you faster reload times and bigger clips. You can also collect "supplements", which are basically pills, that you can use to upgrade aspects about you, such as maximum health, how fast you craft items, etc.

This game is perfect in everyway. High replay value. Best visuals. Best story. Its absolutely amazing. I beat it 6 times already. A must get honestly

WOW! Is one of the many words that come to mind when asked about this game, its remastered graphics are excellent! they could definitely go head to head with even some of the newest games out there, and the real reason everyone needs this game in there library is the story, simply put its one of the best if not the best story’s to a game I have ever had the pleasure of owning (and I have owned A LOT), its immersive, intuitive, and downright fun to play, it’s unlike any other zombie/ apocalyptic game on the market to date, it’s a must have for any ps4 user!

I had played this game before a long time go when it first came out. It was a great game, that had good potential to replay. When I saw this re mastered version for only $20, I scooped it up. I have played this version through twice now, on two different difficulty levels. I have also played the Ellie story through, though I was less impressed by that. Some might not like this feature, but the fact that you are always limited on your ammo, and have to ration well, is a fun aspect and adds to the enjoyment (and difficulty) of the game.

This game, is truly penominal. This is the greatest story line game I have ever played. Compared to any other game, this was unmatched. The main reason I loved it , is because the graphics, the incredible voice acting, truly saddening and engaging story that draws the player into the world of Ellie and Joel truly make this game one of the most wonderful games of all time. Its even a better grab because of all the dlc they are just giving away so others can replay this game on the next gen. I reccomend this game to ANYONE even if they're not a zombie killing fan.

I finally purchased and played this game after I purchased a PS4 console. I found this game’s story great from beginning to end. When you get used to the controls, then the real survival adventure starts. This game has dialog for mature audiences only which I guess adds a touch of realism. This game and the added bonus “Left Behind” where great entertainment to get through. I highly recommend playing this if you still haven’t played it since I found that the hype that this game received was well deserved.

Great game, its a story line you will come too enjoy,unbelievable graphics and role play is cool

I have only played the first player portion, so I have no experience with the multiplayer aspect. I have thoroughly enjoyed both the story and gameplay, and I usually don't like third person shooting games. I felt for the characters, their actions were reasonable and emotionally driven. I got plenty of gameplay without it being too difficult. There wasn't an overabundance of trophies, which I find quite prevalent in games, but all the collectibles served a purpose, not just a random pick me up situation.

bought it as a gift for my niece. she reports good graphics and easy game play. I recommend the remastered version.
