Its not good but its not bad either.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its not good but its not bad either. It still serves its purpose. This is my 2nd Thinkware F50 dash camera. Its a bit of a downgrade since my VIOFO G1W-S has a display screen and a better Sony sensor, but that one wasn't immune to the date/time reset issue that many Chinese cameras have. Day time video quality is decent, but like most dash cameras it struggles at night. I do like that unlike my G1W-S, its a little bit more discreet due to its smaller size.

Easy to install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to install. I have had several other Dash cams and this is just about the easiest to install. I would recommend a larger memory card than the 8 GB that comes with it. Video quality is very good and night video is good.

Poor Quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The dash cam was easy to install, but did not make it through the summer. The camera failed and rarely works. It fills parking mode folder while driving and some doesn't record at all. Since I silenced the sound, you can't tell when its working and when it isn't. I purchased the 12v adapter because I wanted the parking surveillance, but the unlocking of my power locks triggers it at the most insensitive setting. The required software for playback wasn't a complete deal breaker for me, but I can see how it would be for some if you want to watch it immediately after an incident/accident. Cant just pop into a tablet or phone and watch. At this point the camera also does not properly overwrite older files, it will just not record at all. I considered getting a "better" Thinkware dash cam to replace this, but I don't think they've earned my initial purchase... much less an upgrade.

Posted .Hi Anthony,
We are sorry to hear about your negative experience with the F50 dash cam. We hope to provide some clarity in regards to some comments that were made in your review:
(1) Including parking mode, there should be 4 recording folders (continuous, incident, manual, parking). Please ensure that you check all the folders to view the video files.
(2) The dash cam has an operation LED light that will turn red when the unit is turned on.
(3) Please note that the 12V outlet does not enable parking mode. You need to purchase and install the hardwiring cable (TW-SH) with the dash cam for parking surveillance mode.
(4) We highly recommend upgrading to a 64GB card if you are looking for more storage capacity. This provides more recording time before the overwriting process begins.
(5) It is possible that the memory card settings were modified to disable certain recording folders from being overwritten. Please try accessing the dash cam settings > memory card settings to see if the "Video Overwrite" feature is enabled for all recording modes.
In this case, please contact our customer support department directly by email ([email protected]) or phone (1-844-865-9273) for more assistance.
Kind regards,
Thinkware Customer Support

Thinkware F50 Dash Cam works great for price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to Install just behind Windshield mirror. Driver cannot see the camera from driver position, therefore does not block drivers view of the road. Video looks good in direct sunlight and at night. Camera comes with 8GB micro SD card, however a Sandisk 32GB High speed SD card gives about 3 hours of Video. When Card is full camera will record over previous recordings. Camera has several folders to store recordings depending on Parking, Driving or Events. If you purchase the Hard Wire Cable, around $28, camera will record while parked using Motion Detection. Camera can be set to turn off so it doesn't run down the Vehicle battery. A Thinkware GPS can be plugged in for speed and other info. An extensive Manual is online and can be downloaded.

Great Screenless Dash Cam
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've bought two of these (because my more expensive different brand dash Cam suddenly stopped charging) and even though I prefer something with a screen because it's easier to review footage, this one has proven to be long lasting without any malfunctions. Memory is pretty decent too. I only don't give 5 stars because you have to take memory card to a computer to review and sometimes it's nice to have something more instant-if those ones would work!

Good Quality Dashcam for the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Thinkware F50 is a nice streamlined dash cam that fits nicely in front of the rear view mirror. The power cord is extra long to hide in the paneling of the car to route it to the 12V power plug. The video quality during the day is excellent. The quality at night is ok due to lighting conditions. The software is a little sluggish but usable. The continuous recording in one minute increments is a nice feature, and the continuous loop works well. Viewing multiple segments together requires the software, but viewing the files outside of the software are better quality. Overall, the camera is budget conscious, and definitely worth the price.

Works right out of the box, no set up needed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stick bracket to window and snap in place. The unit works great right out of the box. Easy to remove sd card and review on tablet. Had difficulties with advanced settings attempting to decrease sensitivity. Overall I would recommend and purchase item again. I had a Garmin before and it burned out within a couple of months, suction cup wouldn't hold.

Good camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty good quality. I wish it was a little better quality but it should be good enough to see fault in an accident.

Works great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The reviews are arrurate. I got the f50 because it’s cheaper. The quality is good. I had a lot of trouble getting the sticky pad installed. I had to ask for help. Best Buy was nice and helped me. The camera is really light. Not that it matters.

Simple.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply and easy to use. Stick it up and just plug it in. If you want to review, just take the micro sd out and stick it in your computer. Entry level, but does the job. I bought 2. This video shows my rear mount one. This idiot ran up on me and almost hit my new car and was egging me on.

Clear Video, Compact size
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Saved me once in a minor accident. Without video the other insurance company would have found me at fault. Video is clear with a wide viewing angle. Only downside is having to use my laptop in order to view the video. The compact size is a big plus.

Excellent Camera Quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not an expert on camera's when it comes to a dash cam. However, you have it for one reason....to validate your story. I was in a wreck where a drive squeezed in in front of me and had to come to an immediate stop. I ended up running into the back of him. Long story short....although the other driver forced his way into my lane of traffic and I hit him on a brake check, I paid for the damage of both cars. I bought this camera for $79.99. It would easily have verified my story. The field of view is great and the quality (both night and day driving) is really good. It does not have any major bells and whistles but all you need is a camera that works. It does!! I did upgrade the memory card just to get a longer loop time. Sometimes I like to go back and pull a video segment from a drive (just to show my wife or kids something interesting I catch) and the longer memory card gives me that option. Otherwise right out of the box its a great camera and an excellent unbiased witness to anything that happens in its view.

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This works well for crazy Orlando traffic. It has a clear picture, is easy to mount, and is unobtrusive. I really like the feature that allows incidents to be recorded into a separate file so that they are not overwritten.
