Customers recognize the F50 Dash Cam's excellent video quality and ease of use, praising its small size and affordability. However, some users point out limitations with the included SD card's capacity and the lack of a built-in GPS. A few also mention concerns about the software and the absence of a screen for immediate video playback.

I have great experiences with thinkware products in the past. I purchased this for my teenage son and he absolutely loves it. The quality of the video and the easy usage of the software makes this a great device.

It produces the footages but in order to check the video, the SD card should be read in another device.

    Not Bad, But Not Good

If you absolutely must have a dash cam this one is a decent choice. The angle is good; it will record for 10 seconds when power is disconnected (or on impact); and daylight videos are clear. Nighttime videos are fair enough, but don't expect to be able to accurately tell what's happening down the road at night. This camera also runs very hot- a 40 minute drive caused this to shut off on me with ambient temps at around 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The impact sensor is very sensitive- closing a door too hard caused the cam to register an event. When reviewing videos the built-in mic is decent but not by any means good, and the start-up notification is EXTREMELY loud with no clear way to reduce the volume (though I image there is a config stored on the SD card for it). Also, the adhesive for the mount is impossible to take off- and the mount itself doesn't swivel much. If you need a cheap dash cam this is a good pick (it comes with an 8GB MicroSD card) but if you can afford to spend a few more bucks I suggest looking elsewhere.

      Hi there,

Thank you for providing honest feedback outlining your experience with the F50! There were some points that were mentioned in your review that we would like to follow up on:

      (1) While day time and night time video quality may differ based on weather and/or road conditions, the dash cam has a CMOS image sensor that aims to provide optimal video quality in any given scenario.

      (2) The dash cam has an operating range of 14 degrees Fahrenheit - 140 degrees Fahrenheit. While it is perfectly normal for the unit to get warm during use, it is not supposed to be hot to the touch or in your case, shut off at only 50 degrees Fahrenheit. If possible, please contact our CS department with this inquiry as we would like to investigate this issue.

      (3) Usually, users will have to adjust the impact sensitivity levels on their dash cams based on their vehicle type and/or road conditions. There are 5 different options ranging from insensitive (1) to sensitive (5) that users can choose from in the settings.

      (4) Most voice notifications like the start-up greeting can be adjusted in terms of volume or turned off in the dash cam settings.

We hope this clarifies a few things. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our CS department by email ([email protected]) or phone (1-844-865-9273).

Easy to set up and operate. Like that you can format the SD card and do a couple of other options without having to remove the SD card and view it on a computer. Still cannot figure out how to get the camera to record the speed the vehicle is going. One major complaint is I wish this camera were WIFI and could connect to the app. That would make it easy to view in case of an accident. Unless you want to remove the SD card from your phone or a tablet (if you happen to be carrying one) you won't be able to view anything until you can get to a computer.

Basic dash cam for recording a continuous loop or an incident. doesn't have a screen so it must be connected to a video source to view. but great for the price.

I like this cam for the price an the clear picture! I was shopping for a rear an front camera but sales person said this was a best seller because of the price. I agree! Not clear enough to read the car license plate in front of you unless able to expand the pic. Must use a computer to review the action that why I gave 4 stars!

Set it and forget it. Don't forget to plug your micro sd card in your computer and set the shock sensitivity all the way down. It will not be as annoying as the default setting. This is a very good quality dash cam. Nothing fancy... but has been working great for over a year thus far. I recently got another to face rearward.

I bought this as a gift for someone and they were very happy with it. I haven't used it personally but am thinking of getting one for myself when it goes back on sale. I especially like the compact size as it will not draw much attention. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but that is fine by me.

The camera does exactly what supposed to do without all of the Clutter of some of the higher-end cameras. The image quality is very good it does exactly what it's suppo. ed to it seems to be well made with thermal protection which all of them should have but this one actually does so good quality camera

I purchased this camera for a family member. Before that, I had enjoyed my personal dash cam, and had been purchasing them a lot for other loved ones'. I thought this camera was going to be good for this person because his vehicle had a built in SD card reader, and the person doesn't like screens obstructing his vision while driving. Unfortunately, the MicroSD and subsequent adaptor that are included were not properly formatted. If I weren't installing this for him, the dash cam could have been useless in a crash. I will follow up after I investigate the problems. If I cant format this for his car, then I will definitely remove all the stars I can.

Has a good picture, hides behind the mirror don't hardly notice it. I added the hard wire kit and installation looks factory. I plan to add one to the rear window. Get a 64 card the original does not hold much.

Definitely a great quality picture, does its job,. If you buy the hardwire kit it automatically enables "parking mode" which is an amazing feature, allowing the camera to record while parked using very low voltage. I have a scan gauge in my car allowing me to see the exact voltage of my battery. And even after not driving the car for a few days, when I start the car the battery is MAYBE .01-.02 volts lower than when I shut it off. The camera has an automatic shut off when it gets to below a certain voltage. If you dont care about having a screen this camera is very discrete and fits perfectly behind most rear view mirrors.
