I noticed some of the people reviewing are making mistakes and operating the unit. Read the manual it will not operate Lane safety or collision safety when you're in viewing mode all recording stops. Bluetooth will not connect automatically. Again read the manual excellent camera best I've used .

I bought this camera before making a 4000 mile trip across the USA. I had no problems downloading the software to my phone or setting this camera up. The live video is a bit fuzzy, but the recorded video is perfect. I am going to buy another one of these cameras for my other vehicle.

    Complete waste of Money

Downloaded the Dash Cam app for both iOS and Android as I have both the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S5. I had problems trying to get Wi-Fi to work with both phones. When I finally did get it to connect, it would not reconnect after power down, unless I went back into my phone's Wi-Fi settings, deleted it and added it again. I couldn't get the unit to work properly. The Red Light and Speed warning worked one time only, but I could never get the Lane Departure or Forward Collision features to work. In Live View mode, the picture is terrible and has a great deal of artifacts and latency. I did multiple resets of the device to no avail. No physical manual comes with the camera-you have to download it from the MicroSD Card or Thinkware's website; this is very inconvenient when you are trying to troubleshoot problems. After 10 hours of trying to get the camera to work, I finally have given up and I will be returning it tomorrow.

      Hi Kooper,

Thank you for considering Thinkware. We are sorry to hear about your experience with the F750.

The F750 dash cam will ask to verify your Wi-Fi settings after exiting the app as a security measure to prevent others from accessing your Wi-Fi and your dash cam footage. As a result, the user may have to manually select the Wi-Fi network on the smartphone again after the Wi-Fi has been turned off on the dash cam.

Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Warning could vary for different types of cars. You can adjust the sensitivity levels of these features to your preference. The Red Light and Speed Camera Alerts are to notify the user of roadside mounted cameras only. May we ask where you are located so we can check the database for the location of enforcement cameras?

Live mode view was not designed for sustained usage to view the dash cam footage. Streaming full HD videos require large amounts of processing power, which affects the video quality of the footage when reviewing the dash cam in live view. However, the actual video quality of the recorded footage will not be affected.

A physical quick start user manual is included with every dash cam and we sincerely apologize if that was not the case for you.
If you have further issues with the unit, please let us know at [email protected] or contact our support phone line at 1(844)865-9273.

    The One To Beat

    Posted .

Some of the flaws reviewers have listed others, such as myself, would consider features. And the rest of the flaws are the result of not having a working knowledge of the F750. So with that a pro tip: I too was not 100% understanding the operation. And the documentation is rather thin. Well written, but no depth. I found on the the thinkware support site, under downloads, a full on PDF Manual. That took care of my knowledge gaps. For instance if alarms are too loud or too often you can quiet them or make them less frequent. I was concerned in parking mode I could run down the battery if I didn't use the car for an extended time. No Problem this thing checks your battery and shuts off before draining it. You can set the vokt level manually or just let the default of 12.2 volts take care of it. The video is OMG good. So good I realized my clean windshield wasn't that clean. I have 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Seriously modified. The ADAS includes speed and red light cams plus lane departure and front collision. I now have a 2016 Crown Vic given the inclusion of Appke Car Play. Pro tip: you need the hardwire kit to use the taking security feature. Pro tip: the rear looking camera is not included. Got mine next day for $75 on Amazon Prime. Comes with enough wire to do a Peterbuilt with a 53' container. So bring your car up to date. The cost of a F750 is nothing compared to a ticket or an accident and the parking mode makes the car look like GORT from the Day The Esrth Stood Still. GORT Crown Vic Barada Nikto.

    Thinkware F750 with optional accessories...

I have had my Thinkware F750 for nearly a year; I have the optional rear cam, as well as the hardwiring cable for parking mode. Unfortunately, last summer, my home was burglarized. I've always had a monitored alarm system; however, that didn't stop theives from kicking in my front door at 12 Noon... nor did it help the authorities catch the crooks. Surprisingly, although I purchased the Thinkware F750 and all of its optional accessories for my vehicle's piece of mind, the F750's motion detection, (during parking mode), recorded the theives as they walked to my porch and kicked in the door! Unfortunately, the culprits have never been arrested before... so they were unable to get a match on their photos. However, the Police did comment on the quality of my recordings! I love the Quality and build of the system itself!

Recordings have static and electrical noises.

This is a great dash cam I've owned so far. Hardwiring the camera to my car was easy. It has great low light/night time recording. Some cons that I have come across so far are as follows: -Camera restarts while driving. Happens about 30% of the time. -Impact sensor is too sensitive to the closing of car doors which trigger an event recording. -My recordings have static and electrical noises. (I hardwired the camera to my car and followed the instructions carefully. Thinkware representative was unable to find a solution to eliminate the noises.) Overall, I'm glad I purchased the camera. If only I knew of a way to get rid of those noises in my recordings.

    Quality you can see

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've had this dash cam for about 2 months now. I like many things about it. For instance, I like how it has the distance warning, for when you're going over 50 Mph and the car in front of you suddenly breaks and you might not be paying attention at that second, the dash cam would warn you with a distinct alarm to get your attention. The 3M adhesive that it comes with holds like a champ. To be honest I was a little skeptical on wether it would withstand the heat and not fall off after I park it outside under the SoCal sun. There is also an audible warning that says "red light camera in 600 meters", since it has a GPS built in it knows where it is, but the only thing is I don't think it's 600 "meters", more like 600 "feet". That said, all and all its a good camera and very reliable. You can also download the videos from manual recordings right into your phone using the built in wifi. It's a good bang for your buck.

I've had this dash cam for over a year now, and it has not let me down. I have caught so many crazy drivers on it and the quality of the videos allows you to see everything including license plates. I really like the Wifi feature because it allows me to download footage directly to my phone instead of having to stick the SD card in my computer all the time. All of the driver warning systems work and can be adjusted if needed. The camera is also good at night and the wide angle camera allows you to see everything. Overall, it is a excellent dash cam, and I recommend it to everyone. It might even save you some money.

    Don't Waste Your Money!

Will only record in 1 minute intervals, has a forced file structure where it sets aside a percentage of space for the recording types (Continuous, Manual, Collision Detection, etc) and automatically overwrites when full which can't be changed and happens very quickly (Bitrate is way too high on the video and nearly filled a 64 GB card in 6 hours) Visual quality is the same or worse than my $80 Blackbox dashcam. The collision detection and lane warning system just constantly goes off providing no help, at least you can disable that. But on top of all those issues when trying to extract gps data it crashes any app that can read it. How this won any award let alone the several it did is beyond me. This product is a joke and should not be recommended to anyone.

      Hi there,

We are sorry to hear about your experience with us. Hopefully, this response will provide a better understanding of our features better in addition to addressing your concerns.
The 1 minute interval feature was implemented as security feature in the circumstance that if a file ever does become corrupted, less footage is affected. It was also placed to help users find a footage of a specific time more conveniently, as they do not need to sift through recordings that are several minutes for a specific moment.
You can adjust the memory card partition settings either through the app or PC Viewer under "Memory Card Settings". Continuous recording will automatically overwrite the oldest footage to allow the dash cam to continually record even when the microSD card is full. With that said, you have the option to prevent recording folders from being overwritten in the "Memory Card Settings" as well.
To lower the frequency of the sound alerts, we suggest you to lower the sensitivity of the lane departure warning system feature (LDWS) and the continuous sensitivity setting. You can adjust these features in the “Road Safety Settings” and “Record settings”
Unfortunately, the GPS data can only be reviewed with the PC Viewer software. If you have not already, please download the PC Viewer from our website at http://www.thinkware.com/Support/Download.
If you have other questions regarding our products, please do not hesitate to contact us directly by phone (1-844-865-9273) or email ([email protected]).

    Returned both I purchased

I have been using Thinkware for just about two years. I purchased the F550 which worked great for about a year and half? I think it overheated. About six months ago I also purchased the x500 to put in the back of my vehicle and have had no problems with that one. Since I have GSP, when the F550 went, I upgraded to the F750. The first one did not work at all. Returned it 10 minutes later and got a new one. The second F750 worked for a few hours, then started to reboot all the time. I looked online, reformatted the card, upgraded the firmware which seemed to do the trick. Two days later was looking at some video and the map data would not load. I contacted, or tried to contact Thinkware. No response. So after ten days and no contact with Thinkware and after the unit started to turn off, stop recording and finally rebooting on its own. I returned it for a different brand. The x500 works great. Would love to stay with Thinkware but no customer support, not even a hello return email? No phone contact? Try the x500. Not the F750.

Hi Tim, We are very sorry to hear about your negative experience with the F750 and our customer support department. We will certainly look into this inquiry and report back to our customer support team to ensure that this does not happen again. In regards to the GPS data not loading on the PC Viewer, the duration of the downloading process is dependent on the number of recordings you have on the microSD card. As such, there can be extended delays when it comes to loading the GPS information.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience you have experience.

      Kind regards,

Great Camera / Frustrated Geek Squad Install

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This Dashcam was purchased on 04/11/17. I had professional installation done on 04/14/17 by the Geek Squad (2 hours / $185 later). After having the camera at home and trying to figure things out, I was able to determine the rear camera was mounted upside down even though it cosmetically appeared it was right side up. I was only able to determine it was upside down after using the app to view the videos on my iPhone. On 04/15/17, I contacted Thinkware customer service. The customer service representative informed me this was a very common problem with the rear camera installs. Additionally, the F750 wasn't hardwired correctly in my vehicle and it wouldn't go into parking mode. On 04/17/17, I returned to the store to schedule ANOTHER appointment for the Geek Squad to address my issues. On 04/20/17 I arrived at the store for my appointment and had to wait an additional 1.5 hours. These two issues were finally resolved. As of 04/26/17, I have now read the entire Thinkware F750 owner's manual online. I was specifically looking for the SD card info. I was able to determine the Geek Squad installer has mounted the Dashcam up high on the windshield and flush with the headliner. This is a problem because the SD card cannot be removed to view the recorded videos on a laptop or for a firmware upgrade. I am now forced to return to my local Best Buy store for yet ANOTHER appointment. On a positive note..... This Dashcam is amazing and has great features. I would definitely recommend it as long as you don't have the Geek Squad headaches I've had.

This is my first dashcam. The 750 does come with a cigarette lighter plug. Had to purchase the hardwire cable separate. Has been working great so far. I like how small it is and hidden behind rear view camera. Next I'll buy the add on rear cam. One issue when I hooked up using the hardwire. It says to hook up one wire to the radio fuse, well with my car, the radio fuse always has current. I ended up wiring it up to the onstar fuse since that has no current running through it when the car is off.
