A: It has GPS but to see the GPS route you have to use the PC preview software that comes with the camera. Supports Windows and Mac. I used the Mac version and it was easy and clear. I am not a lawyer, but I believe this would stand up in court. It has a very good microphone for sound. You will hear your voice crystal clear. You can turn the microphone off easily.
Q: Can Bestbuy hardwire this to the battery without cutting or splicing any cables?
A: Hi there, To hardwire your Thinkware dash cam, the Thinkware hardwiring cable (TWA-SH) must be used. With the proper cable, splicing and cutting will not be necessary. Q: ON its self powered batteries and 16g card, how long will it record?
A: Hi there, Thinkware dash cams do not have batteries! It uses a Supercapacitor, which is a more reliable alternative against extreme temperatures. A 16 GB card will store approximately 248 minutes while a 32GB card will store double the storage at 496 minutes if you only have the front dash cam installed. The storage time will be halved if you have the rear-view camera installed as well because the rear-view camera footage is stored on the same memory card. However, please note that the dash cam will automatically overwrite the oldest footage when the memory card is full so the dash cam will always be recording. A: The Camera has an SSID associated with the camera. When you setup the camera, you will have an option to change the SSID and password. Just like any other WiFi, if you know the SSID and Password, you will be able to connect to it.
Q: Does it record or overlay your actual speed with the video?
A: It does stamp information onto the bottom of the video, but vehicle speed is not included (see pictures). To get information on vehicle speed you have to view the footage in the viewer software on a computer.

The rear-view camera will also have motion detection when the front camera is successfully hardwired and Parking Mode is enabled. Q: Will this unit take larger than 64gb cards?
A: Yes. I used 128Gb PNY Micro SD and have no issues.
