    Wanted to have some processor speed going with the i3. Rarely use the touch screen feature. Although it's convenient at times. Bought this size because I prefer the number pad on the right that smaller sizes don't offer.

    This unit has limited choices for settings on display options and a large percentage of the program/file search area is devoted to icons selling undesirable programs. Unfortunately, I accidently missed a character in my login password and the laptop went into a permanent loop instead of popping back with an incorrect password response. This required removal of the battery to break the loop (Toshiba website says this is not a user replaceable, but you have to do it anyway). Since then it has happened several times and due to poor bios and/or startup program, I expect it will continue. Buy at your own risk.

    I replaced a 5 year old Toshiba laptop with this one. It's OK, but I have had some problems with it that never came up with my old one. Glad I got the Geek Squad for a year on this product.

    Cheap casing = broken screen immediately

    Purchased this as a Christmas present for a family member. While he says he didn't drop it the screen is now shattered from the interior less than a month from purchase. Upon my inspection, there are no dents dings or scratches on the case, but the exterior of the case is extremely flexible. I believe it would be possible to shatter the screen just by opening the laptop while gripping the side of the screen.

      Toshiba laptops are designed and expected to be durable enough to easily handle normal day-to-day use, of course. Certainly opening & closing the lid or screen should never result in breaking it, though it's possible to do damage if excessive pressure is applied to the surface of the display panel itself.

      The standard limited warranty covers all defects in parts & workmanship, and Toshiba also offers a "SystemGuard" warranty extension option to cover accidental damage.

      I recommend contacting Toshiba support at 800-457-7777 to review repair options.

    Kicks off the Internet all the time when other devices in house continue to work. Resting the whole computer now , on hour three of waiting for that.

    The computer had problems keeping internet access. The display driver stopped and recovered. The computer seized up several times. I returned the computer.

    Very disappointed in this laptop. It has been very glitchy from the get-go. We have done a restore on it and still having SIGNIFICANT difficulties.

      Lacking any details or symptom descriptions, I would suggest running a Windows Refresh or Reset to ensure that Windows isn't corrupted.     The laptop works 60 days perfectly, suddenly the wifi antena fails, i contact toshiba customer service and they resolve my problem, fast...

    An excellent laptop for the money. (Always knew that one day my old one would crash.) Dummy me had failed to save my data before that happened. But I like the Toshiba's features, size and the screen is clear and easy on the eyes.

    Day 2 of having this product, I downloaded information from the military that I needed for the military school I was attending in the middle of creating a PowerPoint the computer froze. I did a hard reboot not worried because I had very recently saved my PowerPoint, and when I went to turn it back on the hard drive had crashed (I took it in and had someone look at it and the entire thing to corrupt and none of the files were retrievable).

    key board on my laptop sticks and is very slow you have to press like space key few times to move forward other wise a good product

      I recommend doing a Windows Reset to find out if the issue occurs with a refreshed Windows installation.       I understand that you already returned the product but, for future reference, there's a good chance that Windows Update was been busy downloading & installing updates. That's typically the case with brand new systems, and if so it will tax initial performance until the updating process is completed.

      I also want to point out that Toshiba support at 800-457-7777 can assist with troubleshooting and diagnosis, and resolves most issues over the phone.

    Several serious problems cropped up and continue.

    The display spontaneously rotates sideways and is difficult to get back to normal. The has begun to display an error on startup about some critical windows element that is not working properly. Chrome has stopped working. Edge works erratically.. Numerous other issues. Because we travel a lot it is hard to get it in for service. Expected a new computer to be more reliable than this one is.
