I haven't had any problems with the hinges or the operating system, as has been reported here by a few others. Toshiba always gives me a nice long cord, loud speakers placed on TOP, not on the sides where they can be covered, great keyboard and surprisingly little bloatware. The only issue I have with this laptop is relatively minor: The edges are not beveled. They are usually rounded but on this model they are cut very sharply so that if you are using the touchpad and resting your hand on the bottom edge, it actually cuts into your hand uncomfortably, leaving a painful indentation. To remedy this, I'm using a little beanbag style armrest and putting it on the bottom when I use it. I still have time to return it if I find that it's too much trouble, but I don't think I will. It's still a really good laptop.

Very inexpensive laptop, but has all the perks and I haven't had any problems with it. Built in Bluetooth, Touchscreen and DVD writer to name a few nice features. Hard to find a laptop at this price with all of that. Also, 6GB memory and 1TB are more than sufficient for everything, aside from heavy duty gaming. Lastly, I have always felt that Toshiba screens have some of the best picture quality (deep colors) of all the laptop brands, and this is no exception. Only thing to be aware, the form factor of this PC (all plastic exterior) doesn't provide easy access to upgrade memory, hard drive or keyboard. Regardless, I love this laptop!

I bought this laptop for online school and I love it. A lot faster than I thought it would be and does everything I need it to do. I'm buying one for my boyfriend for Christmas since I like it so much, and I would definitely recommend to a stranger.

This laptop provides a nice balance of performance and price. The processor, RAM, hard drive, and screen are high quality. The touch screen works well. The software runs fast and multi-tasking is smooth. I found it easy to quickly customize the Windows 10 OS. Of course, this laptop does not come with top of the line hardware, and the form factor and accessories are not outstanding, but you always get what you pay for to a point. One week after purchase, and I am happy so far. I can't judge the durability of the body and the battery life yet.

For the price, this is a hard laptop to beat. I purchased one for my wife and my niece also got one. For a similar cost, the options were lacking in a lot of areas that this one is not. I wish it had a faster processor, but it works very well for most usage situations.

Im entering my Junior year of college this comming fall and let me just say that this computer has definitely made my college experience easy! I am able to keep homework, documents and photos organized. Its a very fast laptop considering the price and it run well with PC games. I have all The Sims collections installed and it runs smoothly on high settings. The touchscreen works great, though I don't really find myself using it often. Its a great laptop for the money with a lot of storage. I definitely reccomend it!

I loved this laptop with all my heart when I bought it. It lasted a while but I broke it.. I was so sad because the touch screen feature is perfect for me. Overall it was a great buy though!!!

I was looking for a laptop under $450 that could pick up same day from a local Bestbuy. This had the best reviews for those spec. It is large, not "plastic-y" and heavy which is good. I don't need or want a touch screen and the added weight from that feature is annoying (i.e. the laptop wants to tip backwards while open) but that is minor. As per everyone's warnings, I uninstalled all the "bloat ware" as soon as I booted it up and deactivated Cortana + the "search web feature" from the bar in the bottom left of the screen. It gets bogged down so don't try to push it like a desktop computer. Overall, I am happy!

This seems to be a perfect laptop for anyone with basic computer needs. I was pleasantly surprised at it's speed and ease of set-up. The wireless connection was quick and easy and the connection speeds are good. I'mm able to all my necessary office work with no problems.

I bought this for my daughter for high school. It does everything she needs and more. Great buy for the money.

Had to take the first one back after 3 hours on phone with Toshiba due to modem failure. The replacement works great. This is a good budget laptop with features you would not expect at the price point. The touchscreen is great. Both Toshiba Customer Service and Best Buy were helpful in resolving my issue and getting me a replacement. Ignore all the picky comments of sharp edges, fingerprints etc. - they don't matter. You get a lot for your money with this PC.

Excellent laptop for the price. I wasn't sure I would like the touchscreen, but it is a great feature and I find myself using it all the time. My only complaint is that the corners are a bit sharp.

This laptop is good in general but I have to agree with one of the reviewers here: the edges are sharp, they hurt your hands.

I got this computer for my mom. she never had one before. it is a good touch screen and basic computer for her needs.

Overall very nice for the price. Speed is good, size/weight are nice, chicklet keyboard is easy to type on, has DVD drive, touch screen is cool. I really have only one small complaint which is that the color is fairly dull. The color seems pretty accurate and the resolution is good but there is no "pop" to the colors, but for the price I am very happy with the unit. Toshiba makes the best budget-friendly laptops IMO and I recommend this one.

Bought this to replace a 6-year-old Toshiba laptop that we used as second home computer. Computer is reasonably fast, especially for this price point, keyboard is good for chiclet-style, touchscreen is a nice add-on. Stuffed with annoying bloatware and subject to the terrible Windows circular startup experience of download/update/must login/security code required. Good specs for the price. But after two weeks, there is an unfortunate deal breaker: the keyboard surface is slightly concave, and the edges of the casing are raised and create a very sharp, thin plastic edge. Even with only minimal wrist-wresting, it's uncomfortable; anything more than that and it's constantly scraping my wrists and inner arms, because the keyboard is so far forward to the screen. I think it's going to have to go back.

I see that this laptop has a Tablet Mode option, and an on-screen keyboard, but I don't see an ability to remove the screen to use it as a tablet. Using only the screen in Tablet Mode, but having to keep the keyboard, when not in use, is too much added bulk. Is there an option to remove the screen for tablet use? I had gotten this as a gift.
