Do not buy, windows 10 pre-installed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the laptop for christmas, turned it on, was prompted to a setup screen. After changing the keyboard settings back to QWERTY and going through the setup options, a loading screen appeared. After 30 mins of watching a loading screen, I restarted the process of turning it on and setting it up numerous times and continuously failed to get past the loading screen. It seems to be a windows 10 problem. The laptop was returned, do not purchase.

Let down
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it home and wouldn't power on, Took it back to best buy and found a all in one by dell exchanged it out got a 68.00 refund with geek squad and So far I'm pretty happy. I don't know if the one I got was just a fluke or what but it left me with the ( I'll never buy another Toshbia again attitude)

I understand that you already returned the unit so the following is for future reference. While brand new laptops normally have a usable charge right out of the box, if that doesn't seem to be the case then it's recommended to charge the unit overnight before trying to turn it on again, in case it's deeply discharged.

WARNGING- DO NOT BUY

Tried fixing it by reformatting it (where I had to spend hours reinstalling all my programs) and soon after... blue screen of death again. This laptop is good for paper weight. $400 paper weight.

We have extensive quality controls in our manufacturing processes but occasionally something goes wrong between the factory and when a customer starts to use a laptop. To deal with such cases we have returns agreements in place with retailers (including Best Buy) to ensure that customers have a window of opportunity to return defective products for replacement. If that time period has already passed, please contact Toshiba support for troubleshooting help and, if needed, to make warranty repair arrangements.

Not worth it

Not ever hard stuff just the hinges broke, the computer over heats after 10 mins of usage. I would rather work on a stone and pad before using this brand again.

Laptops, in general, do tend to get warm or even what some might consider hot, depending on the resource demands of the applications in use. It can generally be expected when running very CPU or graphics intensive applications. If some warmth is the only symptom, then you probably don't need to worry about it. On the other hand, if the laptop is uncomfortably hot to the touch or if it is shutting down due to overheating then I recommend calling Toshiba support at 800-457-7777 to have your concerns addressed.
In any case, I recommend calling Toshiba support about the broken hinge problem since this compromises the structural integrity of the unit and may lead to more problems down the road.

Service Stinks

Upon purchase of my most recent one, I found that it came with several outdated programs and a malware. After numerous communications with Toshiba and their failure to fix my problems, I was connected with their technical dept. They attempted to sell me software (at a premium price) to take care of the problems. I refused and, though it was time-consuming, found free software to take care of the issues. It is not likely that I will purchase another.

Slow from day 1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Immediately after purchase of this computer it has been slow. I bought a new PC because the one I had was 5 years old and getting slow. This one was even slower. Toshiba customer support is a joke. They cut me off a few times during my call. It seemed as if they weren't even listening to me because I found myself repeating the same thing over and over. They wouldn't even hear me out and just kept trying to sell me products. I've had Toshiba computers, TV's and external hard drives for many years but this is the last Toshiba product I ever buy.

SAVE YOUR MONEY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this laptop. Less than 6 weeks later a massive crack appeared inside the screen. Took it to Best Buy and they told me since it was on the inside there was nothing they could do. Less than 6 weeks old and NOTHING. They were nice enough to tell me that I could send it off to Toshiba but it would probably take at least 6 months to get it back and it would cost more to fix than I spent on it brand new. Then they took me over to the laptop section and informed me in a very snarky tone that if I wanted a functioning one to just buy a new one. You can't help me after 6 weeks? You won't be getting any of my money again. 7 laptops bought from Best Buy. Will never shop there again.

Problem with solder on GPU
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had great expectations with this laptop; at first works it like a charm, but one year later, the machine started to take a lot of time to start up, the problem was increased until the laptop was unusable, unfortunately the warranty expired one month before and Toshiba support did not help me, the core problem was a poor solder that joint the GPU on the motherboard. Such great disappointment with Toshiba.
