Not really an upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Signal appears to be very weak, especially on 5G. Weak signal messages during video conferencing were so frequent, I gave up and went with a hardwire ethernet solution.

Amazing deal
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Based on numerous reviews and days of disappointing research on routers, I am limiting my risk and going with this cheap one. It has a lower percent of negative reviews than a multitude of others. And meets my limited needs.

Worst router ever. Don’t waste your money on this.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked great for 30 days. Out of no where the 5G signal would not work properly. Will turn on but not able to connect or just automatically turn off. 2.4G signal became weaker and did not even provide 1/4 of speed when first set up. Tried to troubleshoot, reset and other means to repair it. Nothing. Because the return period ended I could not even return it and waste of money. Stay away from this product or this brand. Spend more and get something better.

Posted .Hi,
Thank you for your review. To ensure the best possible signal, it's important to make sure placement is as optimal as possible. Reducing obstructions and placing the router in a central location will help ensure your signal reaches the areas you need.
In apartment network environments it is common for neighboring 2.4GHz wireless networks to overlap, causing WiFi congestion and interference. By changing the 2.4GHz wireless channel you can improve wireless signal strength, bandwidth, and range. Please take a moment to look over our FAQ 2292 on our official website regarding changing the wireless channel: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2292/
If you would like assistance with any of these steps, please reach out to our free support team using any of the resources included with the product, or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.my internet is Spectrum 480/20 mbps, this router says could run 10/100/1000, but the thing is after set it up and using for like 1-2 hours, it automatically disconnect my internet like 5times within 5 mins. and when I type 192.168.0.1 to check the router connection status, it automatically set the speed to max 100mbps. very TROLL.

Posted .Hi,
Thank you for your review. The Archer C6 is designed to provide reliable, dual-band AC1200 WiFi and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for your home. In your case we first recommend ensuring the Ethernet cable you are using to connect the router to your modem is CAT5e or above, for Gigabit compatibility.
We also highly recommend making sure the router's firmware is fully up to date, as shown in our FAQ here: https://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-2139.html
If you'd like assistance with any of these steps, please send an e-mail with your contact information and a link to this review to [email protected] and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

what a deal!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace my router, and really wanted to stay with Asus because of the great UI, but couldn't justify the price difference. This one was even better than I had hoped! I don't miss my Asus at all. This one was easy to set up and the 4 antenna are easy to adjust. The box itself looks pretty snazzy as well. I am on a 400 mbps plan and with my old router I was only getting about 70 mbps, which was still plenty for streaming, but it would come in and out and sometimes drop to nothing. Since I got this one my speed has skyrocketed and I don't get notices on the Roku anymore about the connection dropping. I do occasionally lose the connection on my work laptop, but I don't think that has anything to do with the router, since it's never happened on any other device. Even with the router being right next to the modem and TV, around a corner from half my apartment, I still get a strong enough signal all around, which means no more Zoom warnings about my signal either. The interface is very simple to use and the app is pretty good as well, although the cloud account was useless. The app says I don't have passwords, where the web interface says I do (which I do), but other than that bug it's nice. It makes it really easy to add the guest account when people come over. Definitely very happy with this router!!
