Customer Service is Worse Than Failing Product

I bought this product in January 2016 and for the first 18 months it worked great. Then after the 18 months, it started disconnecting and having an inconsistent signal, which is awful for someone who WFH. One minute the signal is excellent and the next it barely exists. Over the past 2 months, I have been on the phone 10+ times with customer representatives in China and the US who gave me several suggestions. None of the suggestions work. It took 2 months and 3 open tickets to get them to ship a refurbished wifi router that wasn't much better than what I bought. The final straw was yesterday when the customer service rep, after 15 minutes of giving me repeated suggestions, said "download a wifi analyzer and call back another time." *Click*. I will never buy another TP-Link product again. Garbage product followed by garbage customer service.

Gave up after trying four of these routers

Purchased 1st one and it lasted 28 days. Contacted TP-LINK support and after 30 minutes of trying their suggestions they said the router was defective and to return. Purchased 2nd one and it would not get past the power light, returned. Purchased 3rd one and it would not get past the power light. Contacted TP-LINK support and after 15 minutes of trying their suggestions they said the router was defective and to return. Purchased 4th one from a different store. It worked for 30 minutes until I cycled power on it. Then I could only get the power light and the two GHz lights. Contacted TP-LINK support and after 90 minutes of trying their suggestions they said the router was defective and to return. Went back to my old reliable D-Link router for now. Will never purchased another TP-LINK product.

    Piece of Junk

I bought my first TP Link a month ago based on so many wonderful reviews, including the New York Times. I noticed right away how cheap the router felt. Like one drop on the floor would shatter the device. Not that I am in the habit of dropping routers. Within two weeks it died. No lights, no start and stop, just dead. I decided to give TP Link another shot and returned the old one for a new one and this one, although it hasn't died, is HORRIBLE. I get a dropped signal multiple times and hour. Their customer service is TERRIBLE. Not only that, the line is often busy, and the hold time to speak to someone can easily take 20 minutes. Once an operator comes on, they are inexperienced, constantly putting me on hold to check with other people. DO NOT BUY TP LINK!
