Set up was smooth and easy. There’s apparently an app but I just used the internet page. Simple walk through set up. Change both network ID and password easily. Tip. When you change these things, one at a time, you’ll need to discount/forget old name network and reconnect. Not a big deal. Best Buy price matched. I prefer Best Buy because of their warranty options. Currently my set up has it on an inferior Ethernet cord, which it tells you, after a few weeks and I get my house in order I’ll swap it out for a Cat6. My work computer recognized the WiFi6 on connection so that was cool. It’s in the middle of my house, first floor. Signal is strong in the basement and 2nd floor master bedroom.

I got this router because I needed something that would cover a two bedroom apartment (1080 sqft) without deadzones. There are a numerous walls the signal has to travel and this router was able to reach through. Easy to set up as well.

I used to work in networking for a small ISP, and I wish that the company itself recommended TP Link routers to more people. Their competitors are either really cheap and bad or overly expensive and worse than a TP Link. The app and web GUI are simple to use. However, the web GUI doesn't do a very good job at specifying whether a box is for the WAN DNS versus the LAN DNS; you need to pay attention to which tab you're on over on the navigation menu. Overall, it's a great router for home use whether you're someone that doesn't know much about networking or if you have some simple home items to have set up a specific way.

Our google nest router finally gave out, so we replaced it with this one, because of the price point. It does the job. It goes out every now and then; which makes me believe that it’s our internet service itself.

I bought this router to replace a different brand new router that was defective. I only gave this one a 4 star rating because of trying to set up with their app or or computer. Make sure you're on the same wifi with your phone or computer and are directly plugged into the router for setup. Also, if you have a second router, make sure you set this router mode to access point mode. Besides that, this router works very well and is fast.

I think this router is over priced for the lack of features. My last Asus router cost mean around $60 bucks, and did a lot more. This router lacks MAC filtering, which would allow me to allow, or block the MAC addresses from accessing the network . With this one, you can only block machines from accessing the network. My little $60 Asus router had this by default, before it died on me after 4 years. Plus, with my Asus router, I could specify which devices could access the network at what time. I know, I should have just bought the outdated Asus router made 8 years ago. I didn't because it doesn't support the new WiFi standards. Apples and oranges, I know! I would suggest going with the cheaper version of this router (TP-Link - Archer AX20 AX1800), unless you just like using apps. The app allows you to check basic functions right away. Why pay for it, if you have your tablet in your hands, and you can log into the web browser. You don't get anything extra. I would also advise to reserve an IP address for those dumb devices that don't know how to obtain a new IP address when the power goes out. You know, your TV, your PS4, etc. Powered off my PS4 for an hour, and it couldn't connect to Internet when I powered it back on. Logged into the router, and saw that my MAC had took it's IP. I know this because I wrote down the MAC and IP address of the PS4 day 1, when I setup the router. It wasn't smart enough to request a new one. I had to give my MAC the static IP address that it originally had, and then the PS4 was able to connect. If I didn't, it would never had connected. Same thing happened to my TV. After a week, it would never connect. Had to statically give it an unused address. It wasn't smart enough to clear it's IP table. It's just an FYI, because it will come up in the future. Whenever I setup a new router, I write down the address, and MAC addresses of all my devices. I also re-subnet the address space, and never use the default. That way, troubleshooting is 5 minutes, instead of an hour. I paid $129 for this router. It's currently $99, which is an okay price, I guess in this economy. I get a lot of signal drops whenever I close the door to a room. Never got that with my old router, but could be due to all of the other neighbor's WiFi signals stepping on my. These signals do have to go through walls. They are strongest if they don't have to compete with other networks. I know too long, but I work as a network engineer by profession, so couldn't help it. So basi
