      Hi,

Thank you for your review. If you haven't noticed a significant improvement in Wi-Fi coverage after installing the extender, we recommend relocating the unit to a position within your home where the router's Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong; yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range. Please verify the RE status LED is indicating a solid connection.

We also recommend ensuring the extender's firmware is fully up to date using the steps outlined in FAQ 1406 on our official website: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1406/

If you would like assistance with any of these steps, please reach out to our support team using any of the resources included with the product, or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

      Thank you,

Works very poorly as an access point. It was much slower than a wifi5 netgear I had from years ago. Every couple of weeks, it will disconnect all devices and refuse to let them join. I set it up as a wifi6e client hooked to some devices via network cable. That also went down after a few days, it's unclear if that's due to this device or the access point's 6e antennae going down. Overall, very poor product. I won't be buying these types of things from BestBuy since it took more than 2 weeks to discover how unreliable this device is.

I have an old TP-Link RE450 I decided to upgrade for better coverage and faster speeds. My old RE had a better range than this one! I couldn’t even get it close enough for my devices to pick this range extender up. Needless to say, I was ver disappointed in this product.

      Hi,

Thank you for your review. If you encountered difficulty obtaining Internet connectivity during setup, it may be that your modem's MAC (Media Access Control) binding needs to be released and renewed so it can provide an IP address (and Internet) to the Router. This can typically be done using the following steps:

      1. Unplug the power from both your router and cable modem
      2. Unplug the coax cable from the modem
      3. Re-connect power ONLY to your cable modem
      4. Wait until the cable modem is fully booted, then re-connect coax
      5. Re-connect power to the router and connect it to the modem via Ethernet

This process should release and renew the MAC binding, so your modem can provide connectivity to the router. If you'd like assistance with any of these steps, please reach out to our support team using any of the resources included with the product, or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

Range is EXCELLENT, but speeds are slow. I have Gigabit internet, and when connected to this OneMesh device, I barely get 100 Mbps. It's great if you need more range, but don't expect any speed -- despite the high price.

If you use it as a mesh device, you cannot use the 6E band according to one of their tech engineers in China. If you use it as an extender you end up with a total of 6 bands being broadcast in your house. Overpriced for utility. I would not recommend this product and suggest for the money you can do better elsewhere.

      Hi,

Thank you for your review. As long as your router supports the 6E band via EasyMesh or OneMesh, the extender should be able to connect to and extend this band, as long as it is within range.

If your router does support OneMesh or EasyMesh via 6GHz, please also ensure the extender's firmware is fully up to date using the steps outlined in FAQ 1406 on our official website: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1406/

Horrible performance, cut the download speed in half. We have 1gbps/1gbps fiber internet and use the TP-Link BE9300 router. Router is located in one corner of the house and wifi in that room is a bit over 1gbps, but wifi in the far corner was around 180mbps at best. Purchased this extended, set it up had all LEDs on and connection signal was showed all bars. Ran a speed test and got around 70mbps, ran it again, another 70mbps. Then removed the extender and back up to 180mbps. Reset the extender back to default and started the setup again, still get 70mbps. Worse yet, we do have a single ethernet in that room but this worthless device doesn't support ethernet backhaul.

      Hello Bill,

Network range extenders are half-duplex devices. This means they can only communicate in 1 direction at a time. Either to the router or to the client. Because of this speeds are going to be lower, sometimes up to 50%. Ethernet backhaul is generally a feature of Mesh systems and is not available on range extenders. Your router does support EasyMesh so using an extender with EasyMesh support may improve your speeds in this expanded location. The RE815XE is planned to support EasyMesh in the future but does not yet support it. We do not have any Wi-Fi 6E or 7 extenders that support at this time, but with EasyMesh, you can use another Router as a satellite. In this case, I would recommend the Archer AXE75 or Archer AXE5400. Both are Wi-Fi 6E AX5400 routers and both support EasyMesh and Ethernet Backhaul.

      Hello Nicholas,

As long as your AT&T system supports EasyMesh this Range Extender should work. EasyMesh is a standard protocol so there is no reason it should not work. It could be a simple setting in the AT&T device. If not and you want to talk to TP-Link. Call our support at 866-225-8139.
