If you are having difficulty connecting to the Internet after setting up the Wi-Fi Extender, please first ensure the setup steps have been properly completed, such as making sure WPS was performed in the correct order, if using WPS for setup, or the root network's password is correctly entered if using the web or Tether setup options.

Expensive and doesn't work

Tried resetting it, tried multiple locations, nothing works. It will connect to my router and take clients, but it makes everything unusable. Expensive, useless.

Random loss of connection to internet.

App becomes unresponsive and the push alert for the loss of connection never happens. Cycling the power cable resolves it but who wants that every few days. Not me, they're going back.

Not powerful enough

Good idea but didnt work

Make sure you have the extender placed in an open and unobstructed area that is between the router and where you want to extend service that has a strong signal from the router. Repeater, AP limited compatibility

Works as advertised but I dont like the fact that TP-Link restricts SSH access so if the GUI cant do it your out of luck.

Unreliable router, disappointing bestbuy return

It was much slower than a wifi5 netgear I had from years ago. Every couple of weeks, it will disconnect all devices and refuse to let them join. I set it up as a wifi6e client hooked to some devices via network cable. That also went down after a few days, it's unclear if that's due to this device or the access point's 6e antennae going down. Overall, very poor product. I won't be buying these types of things from BestBuy since it took more than 2 weeks to discover how unreliable this device is.

Range is terrible!

My old RE had a better range than this one! I couldn’t even get it close enough for my devices to pick this range extender up. Needless to say, I was ver disappointed in this product.

Thank you for your review. If you encountered difficulty obtaining Internet connectivity during setup, it may be that your modem's MAC (Media Access Control) binding needs to be released and renewed so it can provide an IP address (and Internet) to the Router. This can typically be done using the following steps:
1. Unplug the power from both your router and cable modem
2. Unplug the coax cable from the modem
3. Re-connect power ONLY to your cable modem
4. Wait until the cable modem is fully booted, then re-connect coax
5. Re-connect power to the router and connect it to the modem via Ethernet
This process should release and renew the MAC binding, so your modem can provide connectivity to the router.
