Customers appreciate the AXE5400 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6E Range Extender for its easy setup, impressive range, and overall performance. Users also highlight the strong signal strength and reliable connectivity it provides, extending coverage effectively. However, some customers have noted concerns about speed reduction and the product's price and size. Additionally, a few users have pointed out that the device does not extend the 6GHz band in OneMesh.

    Slow performance as repeater

Positioned as repeater with full signal from the modem/router and with full signal to device and get low speeds (around 130 or so Mbps) to any individual device tested. Speeds from those devices directly to modem router (on WiFi) are generally closer to 1 Gbps. Very slow! I haven't tried them (bought 2) as access points yet.

      Hello Joss.

Yes the primary function of a Range Extender in a normal environment is to improve converge, not speed. In most cases the extender will provide up to 50% less speeds then when connected to the host router with a comparable signal. This is becauses Range Extenders are half-duplex devices and can only communicate i-+n 1 direction at a time. If your feel the speed is lower than that please reach out to support at 866-225-8139 and we will help.

      Best Regards

If you recently upgraded to Frontier’s 5G internet plan, this is a good addition to the free router they provide to help extend the wifi even further.

I gave it 4 stars because the 6g doesn't seem to mesh as easily as the 2.4 and 5g. I get 6g where I didn't before but in the setting it's kept on it's own network. I don't have to manually connect to get the 6g but it's still separate and it shows up as 6g not 6e.
