We have them for same reason and work great. Audio can be a little slow, but that's more of a network issue ten camera. Mom is obsessed with looking at the app.

Night vision is perfect app is easy to use. but it does not tell you everything. Connecting a phone or tablet is easy. When connecting two or more phones tablets download the app and sign in two you account with email and password you created on your first phone. I did not know this when I tried to connect my wife's iPhone. Note: make sure you logout of your account when you are done and not simple close the app, because the app even if it is close is still connected to your account. If your phone is lost or stolen the person will have access to the camera by opening the app.

But Amazon sells it at a better price and here they don't match Amazon's price. They change the code so they can't do it. The equipment is excellent, the problem is here with the price.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Cheap, reasonably good video quality, especially at night, plus local storage capability on board (i.e. don't have to buy a base station to add a memory card) Cons: The app was atrociously laggy, half the time the camera would stop responding and go through a reset cycle, sometimes the IR wouldn't kick on for night vision (even when it was dark enough or the setting was checked to keep it in night vision mode)

Thank you for your review. We always recommend ensuring your router's Wi-Fi signal is adequately strong in the device's location. Within the Kasa Smart app, there's a feature that allows you to measure Wi-Fi signal strength of your devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu.
If the signal is within the ideal range, and you're still experiencing these symptoms, please ensure your Kasa Smart app is up to date, then update your smart device's firmware by selecting Me → Firmware Update within the Kasa app.
Please also bear in mind that being connected to a VPN can introduce a potential delay or "lag" when interfacing with the Kasa app and your Kasa devices.
